Nice to see you're expanding your N64 controller collection in all different directions Glen :yeah: I've never seen a Hori Commander controller before. Do you know how many variants exist?

Hmm, I thought they were pretty widely available and I've seen a lot of them on EBay. There are 3 variants if I remember correctly: clear, clear dark blue (think Grape), and clear green (think Jungle). There might be a 4th that is clear purple (think Atomic Purple) but it's hard to verify the color in some of the photos I've seen.

I don't think I'm actually going to collect them unless I see them 1.) complete in box 2.) at a reasonably low price. I've never seen the green version complete in box and it rarely shows up on EBay (but not too uncommon on other Japan auction sites).

Yes, there is usually one of the clear ones boxed on EBay (such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/360456146893) but I paid a much lower price and mine also has that "Merry Christmas" sticker ^_^

Some VGA stuff got back to me (The 2 Zeldas & Goldeneye) and some CIB games. I also got a club Nintendo Japan platinum gift, the statue from I think 2010, and my wife got me a giant Bowser. The statue actually ended at $1.00.

I'd advice you to buy an NTSC system instead of an adapter. The easiest and most reliable solution.

Always many PAL games for sale:

Landed a copy of Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge (SNES) for a song. Highly rated Super Scope game (how's that for rare?). Unlike its predecessor (Battle Clash), you can actual use the SNES pad instead of the Super Scope (which I have no plans to acquire...to darn big).

Correction 1: need a scope for player 1. The pad appears to allow player 2 to control the enemy mech.

Correction 2: this game looks so good i'm gonna have to track down and scope (and receiver).

No, certainly not rare by any stretch of the imagination.
Mind you: if i recall correctly they were almost as expensive as the console so they are not nearly as common like the NES Zapper (or as much fun!)
Of course any self-respecting SNES / Nintendo collector cant live without a Scope so i would buy one if its not too dear

Just to clarify, i was not using "rare" to describe the availability/scarcity of the cart, but rather that there are apparently not a lot of highly rated super scope games....

Not generally a fan of importing but I keep hearing so many good things about this one. Expensive too.

Earlier this week i read a small article about Dezaemon 3D, another Japan-only game.
I understand it's a "build your own shoot 'm up" game creator.
I am very interested in obtaining this game. And a Pachinko game!

Thtat's why i bought all of them that were in really good shape, Cuz i NEVER see any N64 games at goodwill, But maybe it could be that the goodwill i bought it from is like HALF the size of walmart & it's BRAND NEW place so they carry alot of items in good/fair condition. They actually had alot of Snes & Nes games but i was hipnotized by the N64 ones, Lol.

Sold a copy of Banjo Tooie and Aidyn Chronicles the first mage out of my dups. Very nice profit there. I also just sold a Sega Master System 2 Console with 3 loose games for a very large profit. This retro game collecting is really starting to gather momentum here in OZ. But there is not much around on eBay in Australia for the collector. Anytime something comes up it sells for quite a good price.

That's really interesting reading that. SMS 2's are common as muck in the UK so are worth very little. Was the console boxed at all? are most things Sega expensive in Oz?

Here's a couple of my most recent acquisitions -

UKV - Shadowgate 64

UKV - Toy Story 2

I've now got 241 PAL N64 games. Tonight, for the first time in many years, I think I'll actually sit down and have a play.

Just to see how bad Shadowgate really is! :n64:
