Here's a couple of my most recent acquisitions -

UKV - Shadowgate 64
Posted Image

UKV - Toy Story 2
Posted Image

I've now got 241 PAL N64 games. Tonight, for the first time in many years, I think I'll actually sit down and have a play.

Just to see how bad Shadowgate really is! :n64:
:o Where and how much did you get that copy of shadowgate from? I need that in my life.

I was both dead lucky, and dead cheeky!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110883457029?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

She was an absolute newb to eBay, and would only post it to Australia. I sent her a message asking if I could buy it, and then went right ahead and bought it anyways. She was really nice and understanding. She even posted it the next day!
I had to pay a lot for postage, but it really doesn't matter!
Now I finally don't feel guilty for selling a UKV a few years ago.

Good score on Shadow Gate there jon55mcc :yeah: , i consider a UKV of this game the rarest of the PAL titles, you just dont see them, and to get it complete and that cheap, spot on

PAL Collection: 243/243
NTSC-U only Exclusives: 50/50
NTSC-U / NTSC-J Exclusives: 11/11
NTSC-J only Exclusives: 85/85

Only 9 to go.

Not as rare as Starcraft 64! That's my next target. I have the cart and instructions at the minute, so I just need to keep my fingers crossed.

I also think it will be tough getting Rush 2049, Hercules and Blues Brothers 2000.

So just 4 more mountains to climb! :mario:

Yes Starcraft 64 complete, i havent seen a copy for a long time now, cart only is easy enough to find, i have been luckey enough to own five copies over time, (helps i live in the region LOL) but that UKV of Shadow Gate took me four years to find, and that was cart only.

I totally agree with you on the other three, Rush 2049 was the second to last PAL game i needed, and man was that a mission to find.

Good luck with your hunt, i remember the feeling of being sooooo close, you just want the pain to end, out of interest what is the fourth game you require??

I'm after a weird list of 251 PAL games. I've got a few language variants in there.

I still need these CIB -

Blues Brothers 2000 - Got the cart
Die Welt Ist Nicht Genug 64 - Language variant
Frankreich 98 - Language variant
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
Mystical Ninja : Starring Goemon
NHL '99
Olympic Hockey '98
Rampage: World Tour
San Francisco Rush 2049
StarCraft 64 - Got the cart and instructions
Taz Express
Tony Hawk's Skateboarding

Once I'm close I'm also going to look for the Australian Lylat Wars and the UKV small box of Lylat Wars. Then I'd also like the Australian Zelda OoT and MM versions. Oh, and one more! Australian Yoshi, mainly because the box looks so cool! :mario:

That's an excellent price! The only UKV CIB copy I've ever seen was £200 BIN.

Hercules shouldn't give you too much bother to find either. I only picked up my CIB copy a few months ago and I've seen a few crop up on eBay.

A CIB 2049 on the other hand. That's going to be a pain in the rear for you and I both lol

You've seen Hercules?! Must've slipped me by. I've seen 1 Rush 2049 sell in the past six months and I'm pretty sure I saw a couple sell a year or so ago. It'll turn up eventually. They all will. Or I'll cry.

Sega Master System 2 Console with 3 loose games for a very large profit.
That's really interesting reading that. SMS 2's are common as muck in the UK so are worth very little. Was the console boxed at all? are most things Sega expensive in Oz?
There never seems to be many on eBay in Australia. Ive got 2 boxed ones which I picked up from the UK. I bought it for quite cheap about 12 months ago and since I got the boxed ones I decided to sell it. Made about $60 all up on it. Might not be large but still pretty good. :yeah:

Okay so I went really overboard on eBay last week and splashed out on loads of old Nintendo Official Magazines [UK]. It would have been even more as well but I got sniped at the last second for the 10 mags spanning from April 1997 - January 1998.

What I did win is all 37 issues from February 1998 up until February 2001, covering the bulk of the N64's lifespan. All of them are in great condition and most of them still have all the original extras like posters and tips books. The last batch are even still in their original baggies! :w00t:

It's gonna take me a while to read through all these, and lord only knows what I'll discover on the long forgotten pages:

How much did you pay for Mario Party 3? I was looking for that game since 2009, and I didn't find a copy until (I remember the date for other reasons) August 13, 2011. It was $15, and it was sunfaded as all hell. Then in December, my friend hands me a brand new copy and says Merry Christmas. I was like, "why the hell couldn't I have waited?!" Maybe it's a good thing not to rush to complete a collection. Since I'm only 35 games away from completion, I'm just going to take my time and enjoy the last few months of hunting down games.

That's why I don't like it ;)

Half the fun is finding the games you need. I think of collecting like it's a scavenger hunt. If I were to just go on eBay and buy everything, then my collection is only a matter of how much money I have, rather than how much time I put into finding each piece of my collection. Every game has a story about how I acquired it. That alone makes each title hold a special place in my heart. Someone could pull a game off the shelf and tell a completely different story about their childhood and playing it with their friends and family, and my story will be completely different or very similar- even though it's the same game. But being able to also tell a story about searching everywhere for a special game is much more exciting then, "yeah, it like, showed up at my house three days after I bought it online." Don't get me wrong, some of the games I have were bought on eBay. But when I'm this close to completion, I don't want it to end so soon. I want to enjoy the hunt for a while longer.

for me it's actually too easy that way and also quite expensive when you have to pay (international) shipping for every purchase.

like Alice said, at least half the fun of collecting lies in the hunt itself.
And i am a cheapskate (hey, i'm Dutch.. it's in my genes) so i dont like to pay top dollar

Ha! It's not that one! I bought the one before, about 10 days ago. I couldn't believe it when the second game came up. Just like buses!
Fortunately for me, I didn't have to pay as much for the first one.

I think condemed is the one the best horror games I have ever played, the old deparrtment store is better then the whole of RE5. Shame about 2 though.

Actually i bought a package deal, All along i thought my local game store, "Game XChange" didn't carry new N64 games, But i go in & there is a whole new shelf of N64 games, I saw bunch of games i want & liked but when i saw all 3 mario partys for cheap i had to jump & get them. All 3 of them for 35$ Not too bad if i say so myself, Considering i don't really buy too much on ebay i love my local game store. & I only go to ebay if it's an absolute rare game that could possibly would be once in a blue moon to occur in a local store. Such as conker, I bought on ebay. I love the intense adrieline rush before stepping in the store to find games. So buying every game on the internet would be rather more easy than buying them local or trade, That would take out the fun of it. I still have like 40-50 choices to get from my local store considering i'm the onmly one who buys retros in there pretty much. So i'll probably be at 150-160 N64 games for a couple months considering my store doesn't offer EVERY N64 game.

Good luck everyone who is still on the urge of completing there N64 collection as well.

-GAME ON!
