I decided it would be cool to have a topic to discuss our favorite movies and TV shows. We had touched on this subject in another topic recently. My favorite shows include The X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, LOST, Firefly, Castle and lots of animated shows like Family Guy, Beavis & Butthead and the old 80s toons like Transformers, GI Joe and He-Man. Here are some pics of my X-Files collection:

I love Whose Line Is It Anyway?, especially the newer version hosted by Drew Carey. I'm also into Smallville, Heroes, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Naruto and WWE programming, although I haven't watched much of it the last few years.

I'd rather spend my time on my computers than watching TV.
So i only watch The Big Bang Theory and some comical shows on the Beeb (HIGNFY, QI, Would I Lie To You?).
And anything by Sir David Attenborough; his Frozen Planet series was just awesome.

Old faves: Twin Peaks, Heimat, The Soprano's.

In order of favoritism:

The X-Files (even though seasons 8 and 9 were far below par, seasons 2-6 were some of the best of ANY series)

Lost

Firefly (Sadly, so short-lived)

Prison Break (Season 1 is easily one of the greatest seasons of any show ever!)

Millennium (Underrated, imo)

Jeeves & Wooster (Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry)

and for lulz,

The Lone Gunmen (the episode "Jump The Shark" [also featured as an X-Files episode] was incredibly warm and touching... ;_; )
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight!

Does anyone else find themselves put out with today's network television? There are way too many stupid shows, especially reality shows, and anything good ends up getting cancelled before it can take off. I'm quite disenchanted with TV for the most part. I like to watch my DVDs and Castle is the only current show I keep up on and only when the previous season comes out to buy. Good TV is swiftly becoming a thing of the past.

I should have posted this earlier but I forgot. Anyway, tonight on the series finale of Extreme Makeover Home Edition they are doing a show in the city I live in, Joplin, Missouri. They built 7 houses in 7 days in the aftermath of the tornado that destroyed a large chunk of the city last May 22. Just thought it might be interesting for some of you.

The show starts at 7pm Central time here in the US.

Very nice. I love how there are so many different sets of The X-Files. I'm holding on to hope that the series may one day see a blu-ray release.

I like movies with weird mind concepts like: The Box, Inception, Limitless, Source Code, etc. Also Lord of the Rings (can't wait for The Hobbit), The Dark Knight, Terminator 1&2 and Inception. I just got a mint copy of Kung Pow: Enter the Fist for free because of a special at my local game store. Its a hilarious, silly kung fu spoof that I watched with my friends a few years ago and we didn't stop laughing the entire time.

I almost never watch TV anymore except when I'm exercising but I like: Futurama, Family Guy, old Nick shows, Pawn Stars and Locked up Abroad. Oh, and I almost forgot, JERSEY SHORE!! Just kidding I've never watched that show in my entire life, I hear its horrible.

Those are all great shows! These are all the same ones I've followed over the past decade. Above average.
AMC and FX have some good original series, really depends on your tastes though, I also like Breaking Bad.

The only show I watch these days is Burn Notice on USA Network. Jeffrey Donovan is so versitle, gabrielle anwar is what is the word ... Perfect? And Bruce Campbell is hilarious. A bit campy, but reminds me of some of my favorite detective/action shows in the 80s (riptide, ateam, Scarecrow and mrs. King, magnum pi). Good times.

Mmm... i thought there would be more Big Bang Theory fans around here.
One of the few TV shows that actually features video game playing and plenty of gaming culture references.
Not to mention Penny.. she actually made me reconsider my aversion to blondes :)

You got a big fan of BBT right here :) I'd also have to agree with your comment about Penny - although she looks skinnier (better) in some seasons and in others she seems to have put on a few extra pounds. I've never had any particular interest in Indian women but Priya is pretty darn hot <_> (may just be my particular affection for brunettes/dark hair women and the skinnier body type). I'd pick Priya over Penny, with Burnadette a close 3rd ;)

Movies:
Mamma Mia!
.....
Very interesting. My girlfriend convinced me to watch mamma mia. She said: "hey I heard about a super awesome movie..... the person guarantees everyone will like it" So yeah I watched it. I have to say its the worst movie I have seen, I totally hate it. The whole movie was just singing, god damn  So yeah, not my type of film so I will not criticise it any longer. Apparently one of her makeup related bloggers/vloggers gave her this "brilliant" movie idea. I call them now "makeup bitchez" from now on for making me sit trough this hell :D
BTW guys did you ever see those makeup and clothing vlog videos? As soon as I hear her watching those shows I leave the room. Damn, sooooo much pointless speed talking about random stuff:eh:

Anyway back to the topic. I don't watch televison during the week because I have an old crt TV in my room and there is only crap on the analog channels, so no loss. But I have a gamecube connected to it so I play the games I missed during the time I was a hardcore PS2 fan :D. But I like watching these shows on my pc:

-Family guy
-South park
-The Simpsons

I didn't finished family guy yet, have to save the last episodes for when I am going to be bored :D

the hottest one in the series, no doubt.
She and that spunky little professor friend of Sheldon who stayed the night and ended up in Leonard's bed.

agreed. Although that's purely based on looks, the Priya character isnt nearly as likeable and symphatico as Penny.
Priya is more hot affair material and Penny is the kind of girl you want to marry and have kids with.

Only if she promised not to talk... that voice has an uncanny resemblance to the voice of Howard's mother :D

I actually really liked that movie, but I can see why you didn't: You were never a fan of Abba (or even the A*Teens, if you grew up in the 90's). The movie's target audience are fans, or even people familiar with, Abba. I thought the movie was a great adaption of the play, and it served its purpose pretty well. But hey, it could've easily been worse: they could have given Pierce Brosnan more songs to sing.

Girlfriend + Musicals = Leave Room immediately. Yes, lol I agree.

The golden rule should be if I don't ever make you watch sports or Spike shows, you shall never make me watch musicals or reality shows.

Whenever I begin to watch a musical, second song in I just zone right out. Literally daydream.

to quote Penny "Professor Slutbunny" haha. Still, the hottest person EVER to have appeared on any episode in their 5 season run so far would have to be FBI Special Agent Page - played by Eliza Dushku. Honestly, I would murder another human being to have a shot at her...
