That is an epic collection, Brodieman! Anyway, while I was cleaning around the house, I found a few strategy guides I forgot I even had. They're for Pokemon Crystal, Soul Calibur 2, and Tomb Raider: Legend. I'll post some pics later.

wow... those MK7 throphies must have set you back quite a lot of money as they're 5000 points a pop in our Club Nintendo store

Anyway, im happy to add another brand spanking new N64 strategy guide to my collection for only 5 euro.
I think this Blast Corps guide must qualify for the most unappealing and boring strategy guide cover of all time!

Yeah that's the really rare Sculptor's Cut version of Clay Fighter next to the guilty pleasure that is Mace: The Dark Age.

Killer Instinct Gold is at the top because I consider it the best of the bunch.

Oh, and yeah, I own a copy of Transformers Beast Wars TransMetals although I've hardly played it.

Nah, after MK3 I was pretty much done with the series. I was playing tons of Armored Core at the time and when I wanted to satiate my fighting game appetite I usually turned to Soul Blade on the PSX.

Ironically, Super Street Fighter IV rekindled the fire in my heart for fighting games thanks to its brilliant on-line play.

You should give the newest Mortal Kombat a try (if you have a PS3 or 360, that is). The gameplay is a LOT like the first 3 (or 4, if you count Ultimate MK3).

The 3D MKs didn't do it for me, but something told me to try the new one, and I LOVE it.

Not bad at all. I see the same one.

If I didn't (once again) overspend my budget, I would be purchasing one of these. I do have a small Toon Link plush though, so he will have to tide me over for a little while.

I started to record a video a few days ago, since my gameroom is pretty clean right now, but the lighting kind of sucked and only 10 minutes of the video uploaded to photobucket, so I will be trying to figure out the kinks, and get a video up soon.

Just had some bad news... my local gameshop is going to close.
Terrible for the guys who work there of course but also for me (and my trading partners) because they are the ones who have been giving me a lot of cool stuff you can't buy anywhere like display boxes, standees and shelf danglers.
And i worry about my Wii U pre-order as well.. it is supposed to be transferred to another shop but im pessimistic.

Anyway, i already took possession of two security gate sleeves with New Super Mario Bros. 2 / 3DS XL printwork and will do my best to loot as much of the inventory as possible :)

That does suck. Did you ask your trading buddies if they are maybe transfering to another store?

Maybe you can still see them. I know how important the free loot is, so I hope you can figure it out.

yes i did. im getting better at this networking stuff :)
Actually, it was more out of concern for their situation - i know i aint easy to find a new job for anybody ATM.
Fact is they dont know yet what will happen to them or even when it will happen but they are hoping to find a similar position at another shop or location.

Meanwhile... the long-awaited JRPG promo coin set arrived today!!!

Yesterday i happened to notice the guys at my local gamestore were busy dismantling their shop, one week earlier than planned.
They had promised i could have whatever Nintendo-related goodies were left so i knocked on the window and they let me in.
Got a couple of nice shop banners with Wii and Nintendo DS logo and some posters with black Wii, white Wii and black Dsi & DSi XL models (all not made by Nintendo but by the retail chain) and an acrylic folder standee.

Sadly, Nintendo wanted their 3DS demo pad back but i did get the laminated cardboard pieces they use to dress them up for a particular release, in this case NSMB2.
When we removed the frontpiece card we discovered three older cards beneath... lovely!
Other official Nintendo stuff i got: a Mario pen, four 3DS "display only" boxes (Blue,Red,Black and White), some 20 3DS shelf filler boxes and about 25 strips of shelf trimming with DS, 3DS and Wii logo's.

All in all quite a nice catch and who knows if i will ever be able to source these kind of goodies again.
It's gonna take some time and effort to find a new source

Score. Bit of a shame that your source is closing down. You'll have to start the whole getting to know you thing with another store now.

Received ths eBay purchase today. Cheap cheap knock-offs (ive got some of the licensed figures to compare).
Sadly, the one i was most looking forward too, the Bullet Bill figure, was separated from its base, probably during packing
UPDATE: Bullet Bill has been reunited with his base... superglue to the rescue!

But im still happy... paid only 17$ INCLUDING registered shipping from China to Europe.
How is that even possible? If i wanted to send the same package back to China, it would cost me 26 euro.

Anyway, today i was strolling through a local electronics megastore with a substantial gaming department.
Their 3DS demo pod had a nice Prof. Layton poster on the front but i noticed there were several older posters stuck underneath.
I couldnt help myself and just had to ask... and it worked! This proves it once again: if you ask nicely, it's amazing what you can get for free.
So i'm now the proud owner of two large official promo posters for New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mario Tennis Open. Used and slightly damaged by 2-sided tape but very nice finds IMHO.

After the loss of my previous source for these kinds of goodies I'm hoping this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...

Sounds like a pretty sweet score on the promo posters... and let's hope that this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

(... I swear I'd be devastated if my local indie shop went away... and my only brick-and-mortar store nearby was... GameStop... *shudders* )
Sounds like a pretty sweet score on the promo posters... let's hope this develops into a long and fruitful relationship!! :yeah:
