How fast would you spend it!?!?

Just kidding. What would you do with that much money though, when recieved all at once?

I thought about it, I would:

1) Put 20k in the bank for interest
2) Put a large offer for the Conker twelve tales proto (15k got nowhere last time, the bar must be raised)
3) Spend the rest on other non-important things!

Oh, and clear my debts and all that.

i actually think about this randomly all the time, lol. I usually do it with 60k, so ill go with that.

1.) buy a new ford fusion.the thing looks sick, i love the Aston Martinish front end look, and its a good car for 25k.
2.) probably take a trip to japan for car parts and games to send home.
3.) put the rest away for investments and savings.

Today I purchased two Powerball tickets because the jackpot is up to $270,000,000. :o

Wish me luck and I'll let you know how I spend it if I win. ;)

I don't have any debts, and low expenses, so I'd spend a big chunk right away on a DDR arcade machine, an original Minimoog, a really powerful computer, and a big-a** guitar amplifier! XD

Thanks YogurtStorm but the odds are greater that I'll get struck by lightning 3 times than hitting that jackpot. Nonetheless it's still fun to play and dream of the things I'd purchase with the winnings. Here are a few things I know I'd buy.

1) 1993 Dodge Viper

2) Have an underground bunker home built in the North Carolina mountains complete with radio frequency shielding and EMP protection.

3) I'd probably buy $1,000,000 worth of gold now that it's down to just $1,448 an ounce. Of course I'd store all that loot in my secret underground lair.

I'd also start production on a couple of movie ideas I've had in the back of my mind for a while now. No I wouldn't do full out Hollywood productions but rather more intimate independent films.

yeah if i ever won the full amount, which i figure after taxes and the lump sum deal would be around 106 million (depending on how high it jumps with lottery purchases tonight and tomorrow), i have no idea what i would do. that amount of money is unfathomable to me.

Going back to 'Gurt's original $50,000 question I'd probably not do anything with it. lol That's not that much money thinking long term, I'd invest it into my first home and master's degree. :cussfit: I know it's boring but I'm not into blowing money, chortling and throwing hundreds around, makes me feel like an idiot then the next day I get depressed. lol But here's what I'd do with the current lottery winnings with that huge Powerball jackpot:

If possible, which with over a hundred million dollars I hope is possible ha, I'd purchase and further finance The Criterion Collection, a film company dedicated to remastering classic and cult movies to the best HD audio and video quality available. I'd finish the business school I'm attending now, and also in the future attend a film school. But yes I assure you, if I won hundreds and millions of dollars I would still attend the school I'm at now. I already worked too G#d D#%m hard to get here I'm not walking away now. lol that's a little bit about my personality I want to make a change rather than do what every lottery winner does, which is just buy a fancy island and a fancy sports car. Boring. ha. Back on topic, more importantly I want to be able to sufficiently run/work for "my" film company. :D Of course I'd buy the rights to my favorite movies which haven't been released on blu-ray yet so the proper people may give them the proper treatment. I would also like to help continue finance the channel TCM (Turner Classic Movies) which still remains commercial free and broadcasts on basic cable to deliver classic movies today to old and new generations alike. Yeah I must admit, I really like movies.

That's a great answer TNT. I am a huge fan of independant movie producers like Troma who made ( or at least paid for ) alot of my favorite films like Cannibal! The Musical or Poultrygeist. As a used-to-wannabe-filmmaker-who-still-kinda-wants-to-be-a-filmmaker I can totally see the self accomplishment feeling that would entail...

Troma's got a lot of heart and I respect the effort plus fun film making style they incorporate into their movies, but I'm positive in my talents that if I ever directed a film, the final product would be a much more pleasurable viewing experience than Poultrygeist lol. My favorite "lowest of the low" budget comedy would be Clerks, (adjusted with inflation about $30,000) and lowest budget action would be El Mariachi (about $12,000 which is impossibly low, result is of only a two man crew, director and star who had to do a lot of film processing themselves with little experience ha, amazing). Compared to Poultrygeist which was shot on $450,000!!! And for reference the AVGN's movie was shot on $325,000!! I am sorry but neither of these two "look" like it cost over $100,00 to make.. lol. I believe El Mariachi is on Netflix, I say watch it and even if you don't like it you got to admire the talent packed into the budget, very inspiring.

Dude!! You're a Smith & Rodriguez fan too??

I bought all of their books a few years back when I wanted to learn all i could about film ( which in the end all i really did was a little after effects and real short clips ). I really loved Rodriguez'a story with El Mariachi.

Isn't it amazing how a few months of meds testing turned into a carreer kickstarter!? It shows that it's not about the budget;it's HOW you use it.

Clerks III is currently being written too, which is great news. Smith is definitely a guy I would love to chat it up with someday ( join the club, right? )

Clerks 2 cost 100x more than Clerks to make, but was only a hundredth as charming. lol. Imo Smith should have made Clerks II in the same style he made the original, part of the charm was the organic look and small town acting. Clerks 2 was unjustifiably raunchy and crude in some parts which just seemed to drag on forever. I enjoyed it though, my favorite scene is the cameo with Ben Affleck.

I could talk about these two directors for pages though so next post let's take this over to the movies and television thread, lol thanks.

I also recall reading that you are more than likely to be struck by lightning than winning the lottery, lol.

If I won $50,000, I'd put the majority towards a house deposit and some towards a games room/home theatre.

There may be some arguments with my partner though - he would put the lot towards building a replica of the Ecto Ghostbusters car or a prop dinosaur from the Jurassic Park movies. I dont know where he will find room for a life size Velociraptor >_>

You can actually buy life size dinosaur statues for a couple of thousand dollars. I think a place in Queensland sells them. I can imagine the look on the neighbours face already

Endure and survive...
Fun topic :yeah:

I would pay off our debt - 14,000

I would get us a good used car, and get our current ones fixed - 20,000

I would put back 10,000 for safe keeping

The last 6,000 would get put to fun use. I am thinking vacation, and maybe a new rifle :)

My answer is some what boring. I would use the money for a house deposit. Maybe pay off some debt in the process.

See, not real exciting. Might take a holiday out of it. :D
