Great to see this going again, great job!

I won't be able to play N64 games until I'm back from my vacation,
in like 3 more weeks, so I'll wait and not claim a game
until then.

Nice to have something to look forward to, after vacation! :P

I keep buying N64 games on eBay though, even while away, so there will be
something in the mail when I get back, to choose from.

As many games before in this game-off, I thought it would be impossible to beat this game (Quake 64).
To me, it was ridiculously hard and on top of that it was all around very dark (literally) with really bad visibility.

I played this in 'easy' (though I don't know how anyone can think this version is easy,
it simply boggles my mind). I feel like I have beaten one of the hardest games on the N64, certainly
the hardest 1st person shooter I've played on this console.

It took about 15-20 hours, I think.

This is a game I most likely will not be playing again, but it sure feels good to have beaten it.

Doraemon 2: Nobita to Hikari no Shinden, is beaten!

What a great contrast to the darkness of quake, this game is colorful, bright and merry!

I really enjoyed this game (as well as the other two in the N64-series) and will certainly play it/them again.
It's probably super easy if you can read Japanese, but for me it was kind of
tricky at times figuring out what to do next - got stuck a few times and so it took a little longer
than it had to, probably around 20 hours.

I would like to claim a "Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber", next please :yeah:

Ogre Battle 64 will probably take me forever to beat as I have never played a game
of this genre before. When I tested it out it seemed like the kind of game
I normally would not give even a chance to play, so the motivation of this game-off
will hopefully get me through this.

@bluedogrulez, I got your PM about you not having received mine. I don't know why it didn't get through,
but I have replied to your PM and hopefully you received that reply, if not let me know.

Edit: misspelled game name

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, is beaten!

This was truly an epic game, thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'm gonna miss playing this game, it has been an intense and immersive time.

Great story, great music and greatly addictive gameplay - a very well made game.
It will certainly enter into my N64 top list.

I love it when a game that I'm at first slightly apprehensive about, turns out to be a real gem.
Also, I would very much recommend any dedicated N64 PAL gamer to buy an NTSC console, to be able
to play this NTSC/J exclusive.

It's a huge game, and long. It took me even longer to beat than Aidyn Chronicles, and that should say something.
Then again, I don't exactly speed run the games I play. On the contrary. I'm very thorough, which of course adds time.

Will definitely play it again sometime in the future. Now, that I know more about how the game works it
might be even more enjoyable the second time around, trying to improve on things etc.

I would like to claim "Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness" next, if that's ok
hopefully it's slightly easier than Lode Runner... :phear:

By the way, "Resident Evil 2", is still featured in the Hit List, but it looks like that game has already been beaten.

Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness, is beaten!

It took about 12 hours.

Ok game.
Cool music, the main theme song especially.

I would like to claim Gex 64 : Enter the Gecko, next.

----------

Edit:

I managed to beat Gex 64 this weekend!
It took around 15 hours to beat.

It was quite a bit harder, in my opinion, than Gex3, Deep Cover Gecko.
You only have 4 hit points in this game - there are no HP upgrades

This could have been a really good game, but the camera is beyond bad.

Gex is a great character and the game features some cool ideas and the graphics are good,
but it's hard to really get into the gaming when the camera constantly keeps reminding you
of the inferior programming that went into the making if this game
(that, or the lack of production time/testing/etc).

It's hard to believe they even tested this game before release.
A platformer with a camera this bad, is beyond frustrating. The camera
is easily your worst enemy in this game, the mosters etc don't even come close.

I don't want to knock this game too hard, it was enjoyable, but it's just that it could have been
so much better, and it is a shame that they settled for this, before the release.

If they would have polished it, fixed the camera etc, this could have
been quite a good game!

I'm on a roll here, Donald Duck: Qu@ck Att@ck?*!, is beaten!

It took about 7 hours.

It's a good game for what it is. Very well made all around.
Very easy in the beginning but the later parts are actually quite tricky (imho)!
The final boss particularly, since you only have 2 hit points.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Edit: I would like to claim Chameleon Twist, next!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit 2:

Chameleon Twist is beaten!

Time: 3:09:12
This is a short game.
Quite easy, but ok!
Some parts were rather tricky, but overall the game is very easy.

I would like to claim Quake II, next!

Nice going italia64!
:yeah:

...

Quake II is beaten!

I enjoyed the PC version of the Quake franchise back in the day,
but this is not really my cup of tea. There are better
1st person shooters for the N64, imho, still I'm sure there
is a fan base for the N64 Quake port.

It's rather a short game, it took maybe 4 hours to beat.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M, is beaten!

The gameplay is pretty good, similar to that of Turok 2 (same engine?) but faster plus without
the exaggerated bobbing, which to me was much appreciated. I though I recognized some of
the monster sounds from Turok 2, too.

Quite difficult, especially the final parts. Ok graphics, but very dark sometimes.
It took around 15h to beat. Much time was added by the fact that I needed
to replay most of the missions over again, because I missed to finish the sub mission goals in the correct
order. There is, to my knowledge, no way of knowing the correct order, at least for me, I needed to adopt the
learning by doing/trial and error-method and play them over until I got it correct. Quite aggravating at times...

Curious fact: I thought the first level boss was the hardest boss in the game.

Scooby Doo: Classic Creep Capers, is beaten!

Not much to say about this game, except maybe that there are really only
two enemies in the game, the camera and the controls.

It took maybe 4-5 hours to beat, say 5 to be on the safe side.

I would like to claim Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, next!
Looking forward to it!

Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, is beaten!

It took maybe 6 hours in total.
I have been playing a lot of Castlevania (64) lately, beaten it countless times, and it has become one
of my favorite games, especially playing as Carry.

LoD has better graphics but, to me, nothing else is better.
It could be an interesting take on the original game, it has potential, but it falls short imo.
Imho Castlevania (64) has more enjoyable boss fights, platforming, exploring, puzzle solving etc.

And this new character, Cornell, is exceptionally stiff and "jerky" (is that even a word?)
which made the game experience much much less engaging to me.
LoD is ok I guess, but it doesn't come close to Castlevania, imho.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I would like to claim Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, next.
