The thought of Nintendo going Sega sucks fellas! Lets hope and do our part that it doesn't happen. I am sure the Wii U will have excellent games on it :)

Just makes me wonder....why and how could they forget where they came from, what made Nintendo great in the 90's seems to be as forgotten as the years.

What do you guys think of the Wii U Zelda bundle: Will it be rare, limited and second of all for someone like me that does not have a Wii U currently, should I pull the trigger on it or wait for a fancier version (diff color, theme, etc?)

If your in the market for one then this may be as good as you get. I dare say they'll release other bundles down the road, but if your a Zelda fan then this one might be for you. If you wait for something else it may take ages before you find the right bundle that you like. :D

Well, I am in the market for a Wii U, I've been looking for reasons to get one. This may seem like a great time too, and I am a Zelda fan (more so Mario) i just wish they did a little more to the version than the gamepad with some gold around it :)

Yeah true. I think I have found that companies seem to bring out most of the cool stuff a few years after a console has been brought out. Sounds like a good bundle anyway. And with more games coming out for the Wii U soon, it's probably a good time to buy one.

You're bang-on about better bundles released a few years after the systems release. I'm 99% sure ill buy this....because if I don't and it does end up being limited ill kick myself for not getting it.

Is anyone else's Wii U stupidly sensitive with discs? I lost progress in NSMBU yesterday because my disc had a finger print on it and it classed it as a error

@matt, I've never had that issue. I don't think any of my discs have finger prints on them anyway, so I'm not sure why it would do this. Must have been quite a large smudge for it not to work properly.

The Wonderful 101 finally came out in North America. I did a quick video for it on Youtube. Did anyone else pick it up? It seems pretty darn awesome to me

My copy of the Wonderful 101 arrived yesterday and I can't wait to play it. :)
Unfortunately I am having a busier week than normal so I couldn't play it last night and I don't think tonight will work either. Tomorrow I'll hopefully start it up and hopefully play with a friend to experience the multiplayer from the start ^_^

No interest in the Wonderful 101 just by the videos I've viewed. Will not be getting it, which is too bad.

Anyone catch the surpirse Nintendo Direct presentation today?
It was all about Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club.
The first will be available for a limited time as a free download for existing Balance Board owners.
After one month of free use, you can buy the new Fit Meter for 20$ and continue to use the software forever.
That should lure in many Wii Fit users; one of the best selling Nintendo products ever and this could potentially shift many consoles.

Wii Sports Club (clever title!) is an HD version of Wii Sports with online play
It is download only and has an interesting new pricing method where you pay 2 bucks for a 24 day pass for all five sports or you permanently unlock one sport for 10$.
So unlocking all five sports would cost 50$ ie. equal to the price of a retail release.
But you can pick and choose say Bowling and Tennis and only pay 20$.
I think this could work really well and should appeal to a lot of "casual" Wii players who loved the original Wii game.

I would definitely pony up $10 to play Wii Sports Club baseball online but...I have to say I'm a bit skeptical one could pick up a game as easily as a Wii Mario Kart race (baseball does not have that same global appeal).

They should just sell the games as is. Full retail copy from when ever there available.

I don't get why they would want to just release parts of the game for a smaller fee, to me doing that just seems pointless. You made a game, give it all to us!!

also if there aim is to use this to sell more systems to families etc they wont know its out. If they see a box on a shelve in their supermarket etc their more likely to impulse buy, hidden away on the eshop they will never know its even there.

I might impulse buy a physical copy, I refuse to use the e-shop though until they get a account system in place

I have a question.

In the past, we've talked here about the variation of contend and packaging of N64 European PAL items variations (depending on country).
I'm considering buying the WiiU+Windwaker bundle, not only because I really want it but I also because I see it as a nice collectible item.

Considering how the bundle might have differences between countries (everything considered: languages, stickers, etc) do you think that for collecting purposes it is worth buying directly from the UK (Amazon for ex.) other than buying in locally in the store?

Nuno- I think it depends on what you want to do and what you want to collect for. I only collect the stuff that was released in North America....if the PAL version had different stickers or box design; I could care less. I would get whatever is available to you locally, this way you can actually pick the nicest looking set too (condition wise) Imagine your Amazon shipment arrives with a damaged box? Worst case scenario, you never know tho.

Regarding the amazon packaged arriving in not so perfect condition, that's exactly what I was going to bring up next.

I'd say the NTCS case is a bit different from the PAL scenario.

Take this hypothetical case for example: we've got two Sealed CIB PAL Conker's BFD. One is the standard UK and the other is from another European country with a local authenticity control authority sticker on the plastic and a sticker with the translated synopses on the back of the box (like it's commonly seen).

Are the two equally appealing to the eye of the collector, or not?

Yep, so don't even risk ordering from Amazon buddy.

As for the appeal of the BFD boxes....in *MY* opinion I could care less about the sticker being on there. I would leave it, if anything it ads character to the box itself. My CBFD box has a bid sticker that says something like "if broken, cannot return" or whatever.

No big deal:

my advice is to buy local (unless something really juicy is not releeased in your region of course).
Demand for UK wares is highest in the UK, French items are more sought after in France etc.
Like most UK N64 game collectors do not want the pan-European PAL releases but the UKV versions.
To each their own, i guess :)

Humm, then it seems I should just go get it in the store.

Two things I'd like to say though:
- If they don't bring the one with the Ganondorf figure/statue that's would be terrible.

- Yesterday I went to a videogame store and asked if they knew if they were going to have the bundle and when. He just said with an uninterested expression "we don't have that information" and nothing more. What kind of salesmen are these? A costumer asks for a console system, probably the most expensive item they could sell right now, and he just acts like he didn't know what I was talking about? Not even "But maybe tomorrow I'll have more detail, please come back in a few days" (and start making some calls) or "If you could leave me your contact I'd let you know as soon as we get that info"... One thing is for sure, I won't be buying the console there now. I absolutely hate people that appear to not want to sell things they are selling. (This should go into the "What grinds your gears topic".

No big deal, if they don't want your business, then you need to take it elsewhere.

You need to keep in mind that most of these kids/people that work in crappy retail stores make crappy money. Minimum wage= minimum effort. Speak to a private store owner, and you'll get a different response.
