Thanks man. Bought it new off of eBay but we will see whats going on- seller is not responding to e-mails. Does anyone know if the Mario & Luigi themed Wii motes are limited editions or are they here to stay for a while? |

Unlike recent limited ed. items, these two have not made such reference neither at Nintendo nor retailers' sites, so I believe they will stick around for a while. |

This is what Iwata said about Nintendo's relationship with third-party developers: "In terms of how we view our relationship with third-party publishers, I think it is natural that there is a difference between publishers who have the software development resources like Nintendo’s to build a software lineup of their own and publishers who do not. Since former President Yamauchi passed away, I have been considering what he taught us in the end, and his words that the worst thing we can do in entertainment is to follow what others are doing spoke directly to my heart. Following and imitating others is the kind of reasoning that Nintendo tries to avoid the most, and while we certainly do not have a negative attitude toward strengthening our ties with third-party publishers, employing the same methodology as the other manufacturers would only lead to the most simplistic competitive approaches, such as price wars or money-giving that would never end. We would like to take a unique approach of our own and build sustainable relationships with our third-party publishers.” |

Not going to happen. Even if the Wii U "fails" - contrary to popular belief, it's not a winner takes all contest - Nintendo will continue to make and sell games and turn a (smallish) profit. Look what happened in the Gamecube era; Nintendo finished third but came back strongly with the Wii. They won't abandon the Wii U just like that and they won't leave the home console business either. |

I'm not Michael Patcher or anything (not that he makes good predictions...) but I'd say that it won't happen. Yes the first year was horrible but killing the WiiU doesn't seem real. It might eventually die sooner than others but no. WindWakerHD resulted in 600+% sale increases in the UK alone, now WiiU Party increased sales 1500+% in Japan, Mario is coming, so is SSB, the Wii is gone (almost...mini), hopefully they will commit to better advertisement. Note: I'm not desperately rooting for Nintendo, I'm not a fanboy and what I say doesn't change a thing. But I do strongly believe the numbers will increase and they'll still make a profit. |

I may have access to a Wii u basic console but it doesn't have a controller pad that comes with it. (I would get this unit for $1) It has been tested and works, but no controller pad. Where can I get this controller pad? I can't see any on the Australian ebay. |

Nagato, I just made a search on ebay.com and a few showed up. Keep in mind that, as far as I know, stores don't sell this as the others controllers. It won't be cheap either. And being a complex controller with a touch screen and all, my guess is we won't be seeing clones/3rd party ones flooding like the wiimotes and nunchucks. |

If you contact Nintendo, you can get a new replacement Game Pad. They aren't cheap though, like $150. They're not listed on the online store, but there have been reports of people getting replacements by calling Nintendo. Finding one used is pretty much your only other option. Probably not a whole lot being sold separate from the system right now. |

Honestly, I think that Motley Fool article was a bit (too) sensational/histrionic... but don't forget that it exists because, as everyone knows, the Wii U really isn't doing well. I think of all the little bits of news/coverage on the topic, the one that really rings true with the way I see things with Nintendo is this video GoNintendo linked to earlier today... it's a bit long, but pretty insightful: |

All in all, people at Nintendo need to be fired (read: some, not all) I have YET to see any commercials for the Wii U on television. Nintendo has something that NO other competitors have (at least not on the same scale)....History, and a fantastic one. If they had normal marketing people, just think of the wonderful commercials that could emerge from this....opening scenes of kids back on Christmas Day in 1985-1990 opening up their NES console....and than incorporate the all- new Nintendo later on the commercial....just some loose ideas that would definitely stimulate interest. Being in a high paced sales environment myself, presentation and enthusiasm are key, and lately I've yet to see this transform over to Nintendo especially when you consider the opportunities that they have, that most don't. |

They've focused a lot of time on social media advertising i.e. twitter youtube etc. but yea i havent seen many tv commercials. There main issue really is marketing if they could show the general public its a new system not a wii add on im sure it would be doing much better. |

Lol so in other words the console for $1 is useless if you can buy the whole system used from 150?

@Nagato Looks like that's the case. Guess it doesn't hurt to buy it for a buck and see what pops up later down the line. |

I already own a white Wii U Pro Controller, got it back when an on-line seller had 'em on sale for just $25 with free delivery. Now I just need the system which I'll pick up the day that either Mario Kart 8 or the new Super Smash Bros. launches. Hopefully by then the 32GB model will be down around $250. |

I'm picking up a Wii U basic set with Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed tonight for £119 which I saw in a local freead. Not a bad price I think. Roll on the release of Super Mario World

If anyone here is collecting Wii U stuff, check your local Target stores for DuckTales remastered, there is a Target Exclusive version for the Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 that come with a metal pin. Gamestop has physical copies of the game as well, but the ones that include the pins are only at Target, and they are going fast. They are only $20 too! |

Well this looks like the justification some of you have been waiting for to acquire a Wii U: Official trailer released by BigN today. |
