Whoa.....

I am compelled to make an analogy to my beloved NES. When the NES first come out, it feature ROB and the black box games. Definitely some classics there, but that really wasnt't the golden age of the NES. That came later, when Komani was dropping Castlevania, Zelda came along and Mike Tyson's Punchout was the best $40 you could possibly spent at Toys R Us. It was that second wave of games that made the NES.

I'm definitely think the Wii U is going to have a huge Christmas and a bigger 2014 with a lineup of must have releases.

Honestly Hyrule Warriors will probably be bad like the rest of the DW games have been in recent years. The rest of the direct was good and NES Remix is a ton of fun, really addicting

The question: Will you be downloading NES Remix from the Wii U Virtual Console?

My answer: YES.

Edit: (I see Matt beat me to the punch . . . but shares my sentiments :yeah: )

Finally got Super Mario 3D World last night. 30 minutes in and it's already quelled my fears of being just an upscale of 3D Land. What a great game so far. So many little details in that game that impress me. That clock ticks down too fast for me to explore everything though!

I feel like 2014 might be the year that everyone was waiting for with Wii U. All the big games getting announced and coming out. I think the X1 and PS4 have alot of competition from the Big N

And..........

Finally got Super Mario 3D World last night.

It really is an excellent game. It feels like a cross between Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, with sandbox-like freedom to roam in a traditional linear level design.
The new catsuit and double cherry power-ups are the best they've come with for years and the HD visuals and FX are a treat for your eyes.
The music is outstanding, surpassing Nintendo's usual high standard. I hope they will use a real orchestra for the Zelda U music as well.
And true to form, the game is relatively easy to play but quite difficult to master if you're striving to collect all the stars and stamps.

Nintendo is weathering the storm brought on by the launch of the Xbox One and PS4 rather well. They still have a sales lead on the two newer consoles and they've got their big hitters scheduled for release next year in SSB4 and MK8.

If those two games are as good as I hope they will be I'll probably hold off getting a PS4 until some really spectacular exclusive for it is released.

There are a few things about the Wii U gamepad i think are really cool. The first is obvious--the ability to play games without sitting in front of the TV. The screen is big enough and the image so clear, it is definitely not like looking at an iPhone screen. The second I just learned today: each thumbstick clicks down like a button. The modder in me is fascinated by this. The third, and this is BigN innovation, is the ability to "look around" by moving the gamepad around...its as if you are looking through a window into another world. Really genius.

Given the build and sophistication of the game pad, I really don't get the complaints about the wii u price point, especially when compared to a few systems that are way more expensive and lack a gamepad.

Did anyone else order the Zelda collectors guides with the chest? I splurged on a set this afternoon, I am sure they'll retain value as well. Never bought a game guide in my life until now.

If you have a Target.com card, check your billing envelop for a 20% off coupon for any video game controller or accessory.... Why am i mentioning this here?!?

Thinking about apply it towards a Wii U Pro controller. Any one have one? Thoughts, recommendations?

One of those are totally on my list of things to get!

I guess Amazon has to charge sales taxes for your state (so it makes no difference to you blue), but they currently offer the black one at a 20% discount from MSRP.
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

The pro controller is really good, light controller but built really well and the battery life is amazing. My only problem with the controller is the triggers aren't analog.

I've been playing Super Mario 3D world a lot the last few days and wow what a great game, so much fun.

Yesterday I heard that MK8 was not implementing online multiplayer races. I was very disappointed by this news since MK Wii was a major success online.

If Nintendo decides to take multiplayer out of MK8 that is ridiculous. I was upset when I found out Super Mario 3D World didn't have some kind of Online multiplayer. I feel like it will have multiplayer because MK Wii and MK7 both had multiplayer which was amazing.

That would be a bad move on Nintendo's part. The online feature is the reason that you keep coming back and playing the game. In reality the online multiplayer IMO is what makes this games series so great now. You can instantly play against others without the usual band of people around to play it like it used to be. Times have changed, not too many loading up on multiplayer in the home locally, there's more to achieve with having an online community :eh:

Not true at all.
There was some news on the interwebs about why they decided not to include online modes in Super Mario 3D World.
I think someone got confused

Ya they already confirmed there would be a mario kart 8 community where you can record races and post videos of them and stuff so its quite obvious online will be back. Smash and Kart are the two most popular multiplayer nintendo franchises they'd be absolutely stupid to take online out when it was in the previous 2 games.
