I gotta hear this story!

Well, i got to know this woman and we discovered we shared a passion for board & video games.
So one day i mentioned to her i had bought a Wii - they were VERY hard to get in those early days - and she immediately invited herself over to my house.
That afternoon we played lots of Wii Bowling and really enjoyed ourselves.
That was the start of many "play dates" and after a couple of months the inevitable happened. :loveys:

You can't really unless you open the thing (and void all warranties in the process).
Best thing is to put it in a well ventilated spot and keep the surrounding area free of dust.
I must confess that my house can get a bit too dusty at times... cleaning is not one of my strong points.

BTW: I have picked up a shiny new Wii U console today! :yeah:
The shop where i bought it agreed to cover the costs without any problems thanks to European consumer law
Nintendo magically transferred my old NNID to the new console so i can just download all my previous purchases without charge.
My faith in Nintendo and humanity has been restored :)

Everybody better hurry up and buy a Wii U before they become illegal contraband.

one more thing.. i've noticed my new Wii U console is a lot noisier.
Methinks they are possibly using a slightly heavier fan or driving it a bit harder.

I think Phillips is stupid for trying to sue Nintendo over that. I mean if they were to ban the Wii U people like us would just import stuff from Japan anyways so I mean lol. They are fighting a losing battle :P

Big companies get sued all the time. More than likely Philips is just trying to extort some money out of Nintendo.

Right now my Wii U is mostly serving as a Wii because I'm trying to unlock all the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on it. ^_^

@MKII, thanks for the info. That worries me a bit... Surely they wont advise us to use a vacuum cleaner on the console :P So there's really nothing to do.
I mean I regularly clean my laptop (dismantle, remove heatsink, remove MASSIVE SOLID dust blocks lol, replace thermal paste), I also performed the X-clamp mod on my 360 but I'm not gonna "touch" my WiiU while it has warranty.

So I can only hope it doesn't accumulate enough dust before the 2 year warranty passes.

The Wii U is turning out to be a good financial deal for me. I purchased my black 32 GB model that came bundled with New Super Mario Bros. U and Luigi U for just $250. Since I purchased it online I didn't have to pay tax or shipping which could have been a substantial amount of money. Today I took the pack-in game to GameStop and traded it towards Mario Kart 8 which yielded $36.40 in trade in credit. I'm horrible at 2Dish platformers so I really didn't mind parting with the games (which were both on one disk). So paying the difference for MK8 means that my console and copy of the game are only costing me a grand total of $241.24 which I'm very happy with. :D

Remember, too, that I'm also going to get a free game from Club Nintendo for purchasing MK8 which makes the deal even sweeter. I love you Nintendo!

Sony and Microsoft do do Playstation Plus and Games with Gold.

Granted the latter is awful but yeah, while the free game is a great deal, I wouldn't say it even compares to PS+ and what i've got from that.

Well, they are professional resprays of official controllers . . . like FoxDatas but unlicensed. At $79.99, though, I'll pass, esp. when I can add this to a Wii U Pro for under $7:

I always thought it would be a good idea for Nintendo to bundle a GameCube clone controller in with Super Smash Bros. IV.

Had a blast with my daughter last night playing the F-Zero game on Nintendoland. I raced; she shot the objects in my path, and we reached level 11 (of 12). I woke up wondering why the gamepad isn't more loved; she woke up wondering when we could play it together again.

Thanks for sharing your story, Andy. Nintendo always makes great consoles for families that like to video game together.

I like the Wii U's gamepad concept and I'd like to see it put to better use with future titles. To my mind it seems ideal for creating custom emblems to attach to characters or maybe for custom track designing in a proper F-Zero X Expansion Kit follow-up.

I wonder why so many people do not like NintendoLand.
It is a perfect Gamepad demonstration / introduction and most of the games are actually pretty good

They actually didn't supply a picture of the controller yet. I don't think they are complete as of this time.

This weekend i spotted a Wii U / Windwaker bundle - the one with the limited edition Gamepad - on sale for just 250 euro.
Amazing that these are still out there and actually cheaper than all the other bundles

Yeah...The day it came out I bought it right away as the (big chain) store said they would only get one. I don't regret it but now I see it in supermarkets. But "at least" they are still at 299€, so no price drop.
