Count me as amongst the surprised that the Amiibos will cost less than $15 (actually same or less than Skylander figures). Oh Samus, you will finally be mine.
$15 hey? Best I've seen them here is $29.95. Might be cheaper to buy them overseas and ship them over. Bit over Australia being such a rip off lol  :D

@DeeMoney: ;_; that is a shame. You and I may be setting up and import/export business, lol!

On the topic of Wii U's getting overheated and fried, I became worried about mine when my kids would leave it on after playing. Even after a 1 hr racing session, my wii u would feel a bit warm. So I ordered one of these, and after about 3 weeks or so, it seems to be working as designed:

There is definitely some fan noise, but I do like the glowing blue light and the shape is perfect.

how much did it cost?

BTW: when i got my replacement Wii U i did notice an increase in fan noise so i'm wondering if Nintendo at some point decided to use a slightly heavier fan.

Not sure. I think the concern was that if you lease auto update on, the fan will kick on. That has not been my experience.

On closer examination this extra fan does not replace the original (internal) fan.
With two different fans in series (and just one under CPU control), weird things could happen with the airflow and AFAIK this could even lead to less ventilaton/cooling.

you are right. they need to be space a little more to actually do a good job, like any dual fan setup on a cpu's motherboard (Noctua)

I think probably the best thing you can do is blow the dust out of it once in a while.

I agree and was concerned with that. But I can tell you that my Wii U is cool to the touch now. Before adding the external fan, it definitely felt warm to the touch after as little as an hour of use.

Anyone playing Hyrule Warriors? Or looking forward to the release no one is talking about (and will probably outsell most of 'em): Skylanders Trap Team (Oct. 5 in the USA)?

Not yet...but I'm actually looking forward to it because I was a fan of Dinasty Warriors so...mix that with Zelda and it should be a fun game. There will be some fighting elements missing but the characters, world and music should compensate that.

Looks like Nintendo forgot to hire a conductor for the hype train. I know I won't be getting it though. Doesn't look interesting at all, and isn't my type of game.

Yeah, sadly there's not much coming out on Wii U right now I'm really that excited about. Zelda, but that's way off.

Oh well. More money to spend on retro stuff.

I will get Hyrule warriors in the future when it takes a price cut. The game looks quite repetitive so not sure if it will be my thing. I've preordered Bayonatta 2 collectors edition but I'm worried that it maybe too repetitive too but we'll see.

Is anyone going to buy watch dogs on the Wii U? I waited and didnt buy it on Xbox one so I could see what the special features on the game pad would be, seems that'll be nothing but a let down though.

Todays update brings folders to the Wii U which is a good thing in my opinion.

So this is pretty awesome:

The forthcoming gamecube adaptor will reported work with ANY game that is Wii U Pro Controller compatible. Like a certain karting game that has consumed me since May . . . .

See ad here.

Sorry guys but Big N has now clarified that the Gamecube adapter is specific to Smash Brothers:

"The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U is compatible with Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U specifically - it is not compatible with any other Wii U software."

Have you ever woke up in a hurry in the middle of the night thinking you're going to be late at work and then realized it's waaayyy earlier than you think?

Yeah. That's how good the GC controller is. IMO, it is by far the best controller for smash. ;)

I wish the gamecube adaptor worked in games like Mario Kart 8 or Hyrule Warriors or oh I don't know. WIND WAKER HD THAT WAS ON GAMECUBE FIRST?! That doesn't make sense to me that it only works in smash. Don't get me wrong I'm glad it works because I love the GCN controller on smash but still.

I'm thinking of getting Smash on the Wii U and was planning on buying the gamecube bundle but not sure its worth it just for one game. Maybe still buy the gamecube controller for my gamecube though.

Yeah it is a major let down. I honestly like the Wii controller set up for smash, though I hated it at first I grew to love it. I'll still buy the set though, because COLLECTION

I went to GameStop today to preorder the SBBWiiU bundle that include the GC controller and was told that they've reached their preorder limit. :(
