Latter-day Nostradamus

I was over my friend Steven's house the other day and noticed that SSBWiiU was extremely laggy on-line even though he has a good internet service provider. I asked him where his wireless router was and he told me that it was located at the other end of the house from his Wii U. Since I noticed a cable outlet in the room, I asked if it would be ok if I moved the router closer. He said "sure" and thirty minutes later he was experiencing wonderful Sm4sh on-line completely free of any perceptible lag. He was so happy that he nearly had tears in his eyes. If you're experiencing laggy on-line, move your router or Wii U so they're closer to each other. You'll be VERY happy you did. |

NOOOO, you are not alone!!! I am really looking forward to Splatoon (ironically, so are my kids ). I really think it has the potential to be the Mario Kart 8 of third person shooters. It seems to have that frenzied atmosphere and precision and chaos of MK. My #1 want for 2015 (and yes, I am aware of what else is due out . )There is one game that no one seems to be talking up that looks really cool: Citizens of Earth by Altus. Looks like the spiritual successor to Earthbound. RPGs are not really my thing, but might give it a go. . . . As for Xenoblade, it looks amazing, but RPGs really aren't my thing. I started playing Monster Hunter 3 and Xenoblade the same night last weekend, and just couldn't get into them, and now cannot tell them apart in my memory due to what I consider to be awkward fighting sequences. |

I would love to see that game on the Wii U tho. Maybe we could get a whole line of Pokemon Amiibo to train just like in the game. Thats something i'd fork my money out on

I see that Amazon is listing a $25 pre-order for a Wii U game I know almost nothing about: Legend of Kay Anniversary. Apparently it's a re-master of an action/platformer PS2 game. Coming out 5/29 (same day as Splatoon). Does anyone remember this game or know anything about it? |

I played a demo of the PS2 game and I quite enjoyed it. I'd describe it as very Jak & Daxter-like. Apparently it was also released on the DS in 2010. I'm intrigued that its getting an anniversary edition on the Wii U (and PS4, PC and Mac) when it wasn't a major title the first time around. Cool find, BDR. |

So they confirmed it ![]() For a while I thought they were gonna skip the WiiU, but it's nice to see it's coming. In fact, the Wii seems like the right platform for this kind of games so it would be said otherwise. |

I'm shocked the new GH is coming to Wii U. but :cussfit:, i'm not seeing anything appealing at all for this game, I'll probably end up grabbing RB4 instead, with DLC backwards compatibility etc, it's a no brainer, if I pick up RB4 on Xbox, I'll have over 2000 songs out the box. |

I can see how fans of the series could be upset by the change to live footage, but frankly, I think it's a brilliant idea for this particular type of game. It's all about the rock n roll fantasy. And some of the characters (male singer GH3) were kinda creepy. Not really that excited about adding new guitar(s), but think changing up the controls after all this time is a fair choice. |

Eh, I don't like it, from the footage out there, it moves around too fast and kinda makes me motion sick, it's also extremely distracting from the actual notes you are meant to play, I hope they keep the focus mode in at least from the last few games |

late response Seriously, who watch the background when playing ? it's already hard enough to follow the notes that whatever the background could be, I wouldnt care a second. the 2 layers buttons will be a huge change and will be confusing at first, but I dont think it'll be that bad to learn. On the WiiU subjet. how do you guys deal with the Region Lock on this console ? |

this blows 1000000x. Had a chance to get a PAL MK8 limited edition on the cheap. How can Nintendo still enforce this crap while both Sony & Microsoft console are region-free ? just for that, I hope the WiiU get hacked. |

i really want to like the wiiU, but i cant. just like the wii. since the gamecube, we havent got sequels to the following games: - 1080 snowboarding - wave race - f zero - starfox - eternal darkness - wario world on wii u, in addition to those above we also dont have: - metroid sequel - paper mario sequel why do i buy a nintendo console? for the nintendo games, absolutely. seeing how third party support has become all but nonexistent, this is more so important today than in the past. and here we have the least amount on nintendo games ever. the above mentioned games should be added to the library, as a bare minimum. but they aren't. it's mostly games for casuals. i can't support this evolution. i own every nintendo console from the snes up to gamecube and loving the heck out of it. but it's so hard to love the wii and wiiU. i would be satisfied with gamecube backwards compatibility but even that has us been deprived... @Cabanon: Don't stress about the MK8 collector's edition. MK8 is so great; the Cabanon household needs to fire it up and the regular old version + DLCs will do just fine @action: I hear you, but on your point about casual gamers, please consider MK8 at 200cc requires more coordination/reaction than Star Wars E1 Racer, and that is really the only good racing game I can say that about. One can totally geek out on Bayonetta 1 & 2, trying to get platinum the whole way through. Captain Toad and NSMBU seem like the poster children for Wii U for the casual. But as you get close to finishing them, the difficulty really ramps up. |

@BDR, good post and agree 100% there are some great games on the Wii U its just a shame more people didnt see it as then the 3rd party support would've been bigger thus making it an even better console. In my view its the console that should've released earlier in the Xbox 360 and PS3 lives to really compete. |
