Even though Splatoon is coming out this week, I figured I'd bite on the Wii U's first humble bumble offering.

More here. Quite a few games for $10.00.

Not sure too many care, but the Legend of Kay Anniversary's release date was pushed back a month to June 30th. Same for the PS4 version. Nordic Games would have been foolish to release it on Splatoon Day, regardless.

Also seen in my Amazon trolling was the box art for the physical copy of Might No. 9. Very impressive. This is a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Series and by the man behind Mega Man.

I am a long time Nintendo Fan. Like any system, there will be some problems. But the amount of characters Nintendo brings to the table( Donkey Kong, Mario, Mario Kart). I have to get the Wii U! :D

Rumors that ZombiU is being ported over to PS4 and Xbox One. I think this could be good news as it may let Ubisoft make a sequel which hopefully would come to the Wii U.

A free preview of Just Dance 2016 is available from the NA eShop this week. Those with kids might be interested to know . . . .

I'm a little torn because my daughter plays cool games but being a fan of pop music, would probably enjoy it and at some point is going to encounter a girlfriend who play it. Probably give it s spin.

It's a blast . . . until they are hogging the Wii U  Darn you, Skylanders/Infinity!

There is definitely some parenting (and monitoring) that has to go on with the young ones. I have told them more times than I care to repeat that the only point of video game is to have fun; the minute it stops being fun, shut it off and do something else. (I suppose I should heed this advice when my Splatoon Rank falls from B- (98) to C+ in 24 hours) :D .

Cube Life (the Wii U minecraft clone) is really cool because it is fun to see kids create a 3D world from their own imaginations. It's like an insight into there little minds.

Anyway, you've got two little gamers coming up soon, Buddy. Enjoy every minute.

i can vouch for that. no matter what the game is, if they start screaming or crying about a video game, I stop it instantly, no matter how angry they'll be at me.

Fun is the key.

With all the complaining about a lack of third party support, it's worth remembering that the Wii U has some great Nindies titles, and more are on the way. Here is a new teaser reel (and jut try to tell me FAST Racing Neo and the Mighty No. 9 don't look great!):

The indie department gets overlooked, which is a shame because there are some good titles there. I have 6 new that I bought on the Nindie Sale to try out!

Unfortunately, I don't think it replaces the gap left by the lack of 3rd party. Not that it bothers me, I'm perfectly fine with the games the WiiU has to offer, is just that those games are on a very different level.

The North American Wii U eShop is having a sale on some Capcom titles, including:
DuckTales: Remastered - $5.99, normally $14.99

This is a fun, light-hearted (and well-done) re-make of a great NES platformer. I picked up a physical copy at release (for a whopping $20), but $6 is a crazy good deal.

Came out months ago in Europe. For those waiting for some bullet hell action on the Wii U, the wait is over. :yeah:

Just wanted to quickly stop by to sing the praises of Yoshi's Woolly World! It's almost disgustingly cute, but the gameplay is really intuitive and it's one of the best co-op offerings on Wii U so far. I'm actually enjoying it as much as Tropical Freeze.

I'm not sure why its taken this long for Minecraft to come to a Nintendo console but its happening. December 17th via the eShop. I know a certain gentleman with a dog in his avatar who is happy for this one. :yeah:

Yeah, a bit shocking as Nintendo has always seemed to come along and support a console for a year or two into the next generation. Knowing what I know now, I still would have gotten a Wii U on launch. It has had some fantastic games.

That is amazing. While I am hardly qualified as a current gen expert, I do so love my Wii U (and my kids do too). Why this console looks to be Nintendo's weakest selling console ever is beyond me . . .

And its retail games count may finish below 150...that is one small (but collectible >:-] ) library....

I also currently own a Wii U (traded my Wii for it (yay for backwards compatibility)), and while it is definitely one of the smallest game library collections I have, it is by far the most potent. By that, I mean that while there aren't many, EVERY game I own is totally awesome. From the Mario titles like 3D World, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario Bros U, to the more unique titles like Yoshi's Wooly World (Really Really Fun!) and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (Amazing!), first party titles are as good as ever. It just sucks the console has gotten so little love from third party developers.

Incidentally, has anyone preordered Starfox Zero?? I got it on Amazon Prime for $45!

Current 64 Collection: Grey, Jungle, Fire, Ice, Smoke, Watermelon, Grape, Gold, JP Blue/Clear, Daiei Hawks
Current Game Count: 324
Current Controller Count: 32

no new zelda, star fox, f zero, metoird, eternal darkness, wario world, luigi mansion, wave race, 1080, rogue squadron, resident evil, metal gear solid, ... the list goes on.

i dont care if nintendo releases a new console or not: they should finally mean business and give us the games we want.

as it stands, the gamecube is still the last great hardcore nintendo console.

Action, making a music analogy I think you'll appreciate, it seems so simple: you make Appetite for Destruction, it gains legion of fans and transforms music, so release another. Don't overthink it, don't change the formula, just do more of what works.

But it never seems to work that way. The followups to great albums, movies and sometimes video games come with this apparent burden of doing something different and grander. And so years too late you get a Use Your Illusions (1 and 2) or a star wars 1-3 or nothing at all.

I know I've heard this from Big N with FZero. They think they can't make something new and inventive. But all we really want is a Fast NEO racing with familiar characters and music from the mario karts tracks!!!

their focus is too much in the hardware department. the WiiU has failed commercially, so they make a new console.

but consoles dont mean anything without the games. i'm sure if the WiiU had more of the neglected nintendo franchises, more third party support, the return of some fan favorites, the WiiU would sell a lot better. the NX is not needed, nor is there any guarantee the NX will succeed. I ask them; what games will be released on the NX? will we get a new rogue squadron, eternal darkness? nothing of that, it seems. i suspect something like "new mario bros X" or something, if the last two nintendo consoles are anything to go by. and while these games are good of course, brilliant even compared to most third party games, it's not enough. imagine the SNES with only mario world, donkey kong country 1, yoshi's story, a port of zelda I, and virtually no third party support: that's basically what we got with the WiiU (IMO, the Wii was even worse).

lack of games was the number one issue with the WiiU, not the hardware.

that said, i hope that the NX will inspire some hot new games. if it doesnt happen, i wont lose my sleep though. the games i own that i still need to finish are looking at me.

I keep debating on picking up a Wii U, especially for the HD Twilight Princess. I loved that game on GC and Wii.

I've been playing a lot of Wii U recently - especially Twilight Princess HD. I introduced TP to my son 8 years ago, and although he usually plays Skyrim or GTA5 he has never forgotten how good it is. Tonight we played for 4 solid hours side by side occasionally looking at the old strategy guide for the Wii. A thoroughly beautiful game...

It's so sad that this console is seen as a flunk-dud; but I know 4 other proud Wii U owners in a 1 miles radius -- with MK8 and Splatoon what more do you need! :link:
Keep it secret, keep it safe... :phear:

Completely agree Jon, if it was released 2 years or so early it would have performed better I think. Such a shame so many people are missing out and its being killed off so early.

If it drives the price down a bit more I may get one. I love the look of some of the games. I guess I just wish they didn't try and be too clever with the controller etc. I shouldn't mock it until I have tried it really (I haven't). It just doesn't grab me when I look at it. If it also had the ability to play games like CoD with a normal controller, as well as all the Nintendo games, then it would appeal to me more.
