Thanks DeeMoney, I really should try to find an opportunity to play it. I've only played a Rayman demo and it was alright but didn't feel that wow'ing for a next-gen system.

That said, though, with Nintendo's early launch, this gives them the opportunity to dish out plenty from the software department. They need something amazing THIS year, and knowing Nintendo they will bring it big. :) (something original could be groundbreaking, sometimes I honestly don't get how the big N can still get away with reusing the same characters again and again all the time. Sure they're great, but they're sacrificing time for new IP's by overdoing the other characters with spin-off franchies and the likes).

No hate plz, that last part is honestly my true opinion on some of Nintendo's characters today.

I don't have a WiiU and don't think that it is worth the current pricing with only a couple of games available that I would buy (ZombiU definitely being one of them) but with time, price drops, and the release of a few more titles (such as The Legend of Zelda WiiU) I am bending a little.

Bend you will my friend. your right tho, the pickings are slim at the moment in regards to game releases. But let's all hope that changes very soon.

Even if I never buy one I would certainly like to see Nintendo shed the "kiddie system" reputation with the WiiU. It has been nice to see titles like ZombiU, Arkham City, Black Ops II, Assassin's Creed III and Ninja Gaiden 3 get released for the console. More of that and less shovelware would be down right awesome.

So true. I believe that there is still a place for the so called "kiddie games" but I agree 100% with you, that if they want to see much more success than they need to market it to everyone.

Heck Im and adult and I still enjoy the odd "kiddie game" but mostly that's not me and other titles that are geared for adults are what my main focus is when gaming anyway.

Agreed. I think you used the right phrase for what I was getting at: the odd kiddie game. And not odd as in unusual but as in here and there. Every console has a selection of games geared at the kids, even if they are super fun for all ages. In my opinion Nintendo overdid it on the Wii.

Totally, man :)

The ideal system offers something for everyone! Just like my favourite musician, Buckethead. I think the big three all realise that now, thus Microsoft pushing the kinect to appeal to a larger audience and offer both family-friendly games and Mature-rated titles. Sony too has realized that quite some time ago and their versatility in game offerings is quite something (kiddy games like Loco Roco or Parappa the rapper to some pretty gruesome stuff like God of War and the scarily realistic Killzone).

What I really want to see from Nintendo is VARIETY this time around, and it does indeed look like they got the message :)

I've absolutely no doubt that the Wii U will be an absolute force to be reckoned with. While it obviously hasn't sold as many units as the Wii did in its early stages, it has sold a lot more than the naysayers were expecting. And once it hits its stride with software, the party will really start. I'm holding out on purchasing one mostly due to money (saving for a house right now), but I'm also waiting for its library to expand a little, as I'm sure is the case with many people.

As long as Nintendo truly commit to bringing in the third party big guns, they'll be laughing. But they really do need to commit BIG TIME. We need GTA V on Wii U.

The factors which are necessary for me to pick up a Wii U:

1. Super Smash Bros. title with proper on-line play. Yeah SSB Brawl has on-line but it's a train wreck. :P

2. A new Mario Kart game

3. F-Zero for the Wii U in glorious 1080p. Throw in some retro tracks, a Death Race mode and on-line play and I'll purchase Nintendo's newest console lickety-split.

4. Price drop

Hey Grizz, I'd say 2-4 are absolutely inevitable. Not sure solid SSB on-line play is a lock, but an SSB title certainly is.

I figure that since Brawl included on-line play the next installment in the SSB series probably will too. The Namco Bandai connection bodes well also, I guess, as they have experience with the Tekken and Soul Calibur franchises which both support proper on-line modes.

Many people complain that the Wii U is underpowered especially given the fact that both Microsoft and Sony will soon launch more powerful consoles but I suspect Nintendo will not disappoint when they finally start releasing their A+ titles on the system.

I just played the 480p version of Wave Race 64 (VC) on my original Wii and thought how incredible a sequel on the Wii U would look in glorious 1080p. Come on Nintendo, release something that shows off what the system can really do!

The factors which are necessary for me to pick up a Wii U
... for me, I would've said something silly like "It would take Dead Space 4 being confirmed to be a 100% exclusive Wii U title for me to go out and buy a Wii U."

But from news of this new bundle today... I'm actually getting a little tempted. ;)

Posted Image

... speaking of console exclusivity, in light of the recent news of Rayman Legends first being delayed, and also (because it is?) going to PS3/360... it would be pretty stupid if the only reason it's being delayed on the Wii U is because Ubisoft wants to release it together with the now-announced PS3/360 versions. This CANNOT be the only reason!! (If so, Ubisoft has some pretty market-challenged executives!!!) This means Rayman Legends will be competing against all the other fall blockbusters for those precious holiday dollars. No... there must be other reasons for this. Like, the game might not actually be ready!! Regardless of what a single development team member says, there must be other issues at hand that are causing this delay. (As I often see in my line of work, a project could be considered done, complete, and ready to ship in one person's eyes, but could be direly in need of further review by another's. Incomplete/un-thorough testing could give you desirable, yet incomplete results!!)

So anyways... assuming Ubisoft's execs aren't idiots, I think it's pretty stupid and selfish of Nintendo fanboys to be upset to the extent that they are that a games publisher wants to bring a formerly Wii U-exclusive game to other consoles. Of course everyone wants their purchase to be validated... to have their console of choice be the most successful in any generation, and what better to toot their horns about than amazing console exclusives? But to be so upset that a game is no longer going to only be available on that platform, that they intend to boycott it?? Yeah... that gives the publisher plenty of incentive to make the game available for the Wii U in the first place, let alone support the system with future games when/if they're seeing much more success on other consoles.

Wow, Zombi U for just $40 extra?! That is a freakin' wonderful deal. I'll definitely be keeping that in mind. ^_^

As for the Rayman Legends issue, I agree wholeheartedly floorcat. What people don't seem to realise (or have forgotten) is that Wii U owners are still getting the OPTIMUM version of the game, being that many of its features were designed for the Wii U tablet. So there's really no cause for complain in that regard. HOWEVER, there is cause for complain in regards to the fact that a FINISHED game is being delayed for months just so they can simultaneously release it on all consoles...the same time GTA V is being released! What kind of decision is that? Why not release it on Wii U this month like it was supposed to be, let the game gain traction, and then release it on the other consoles afterwards? Now the game is being delayed for no good reason, and sales will suffer because it'll be buried underneath GTA V's hype machine.

Not just ZombiU... but you ALSO get a Wii U Pro Controller, too! So for the additional $40, you're getting $110 worth of stuff... or a savings of $70. Not bad!!

And you're totally right on the Wii U getting the optimal version of the game... Rayman Legends was designed around the it from the very beginning, so it's highly likely the PS3/360 ports will have some of that functionality missing.

That ZombiU pack is a great deal. I'd be jumping all over that if I didn't already own all of those things the pack has.

As for Ryman. I'm not really that interested in it at all. Never played a Rayman game ever and probably won't.
Super pumped for the next 30c installment on the Wii U. F-Zero on February 20th. Yes please !!!!! :mario:

I have been debating on getting the WiiU...but I am just not sure. I've read everyone's posts and it seems like a great buy. I need help guys, is is worth it right now???? Should I just keep playing Wii. The Wii had a lot of great titles and titles are still being made like the upcoming Pandora's Tower! So, tell me guys, should I get it? Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Lego Undercover, and Rayman seem like the only awesome titles coming this year. Not to mention Windwaker at the end of the year. Thanks

there wont be any more new Wii titles from Nintendo, they've stopped developing for the platform some time ago.
The Wii U is definetely worth it IMHO, and the new Zombie U Plus pack is excellent value for money.
NintendoLand is surprisingly good BTW; with much better games than anything Wii Sports had to offer.
And the Wii U eShop already has some excellent download-only releases and great special offers.
Next month: F-Zero (SNES) for just 30 cents!

The only reason for the Rayman delay is for release on other platforms. Ubisoft said so.

And the development team is pissed, since they put in extra hours to finish it for the original release date.

I would be as well. the team put endless hours, extra shift and night to make it for realse date. Ubisoft better have a :cussfit: good reason to push it months later other than "cross platform release". most of the games for the WiiU are often released a month later compared to ps3/360. that is not acceptable either.

I would seriously be pissed as much as this team if the same thing would happen to me.

god kill the huge coporation and let the team release their own game.
