The thing i dont like about the bundle is that its digital version of the game >.> but im probably gonna get that wind waker bundle with the ganandorf figure for $55 and keep it sealed or something, so much money is being spent these next few months on current gen stuff, probably gonna have to halt collecting retro stuff for a bit

Noooooo  , not for the price drop but just because they did the same to me on the 3DS. I would have sold mine but the usual content tied to the machine and the fact it is gold trim on the controller makes me be able to cope a little better. If it had been that blue one..well I do not know what I would have done but it would proberly start with sulking rage and my wallet taking hit :eh:

Floorcat, I find it absolutely hilarious that the thing which got you to buy a Wii U is a port of a ten-year-old game!

What's your opinion on Wind Waker anyway?

Rayman Legends

Interesting article about rayman. Should've stayed as an exclusive but at least its the best version on the Wii U

According to NintendoLife, the Wii U version is outselling the other platforms.
So there is a market for GOOD 3rd party games

Rayman should have stayed Wii U exclusive, or at least only been ported to the Vita

I tried the PC demo, but that game does not play well with a Xbox controller

@ MK acording to Eurogamer the wii U version is the worst :o due to the parts where you control that flying guy.

That's subjective for sure, I've played the Wii U demo, and I can say in my opinion if your not playing on Wii U or Vita, don't play at all, because lack of touch screen really ruins the idea behind them because you end up with parts that instead of "rotate the gamepad" turns into "press R2"

Im excited to get my Wii U- but to be honest I don't know if I want the Limited Edition Zelda one. Lol, im willing to bet that the gold around the pad will wear off in short time.

Is the bundle Wii U the same as the deluxe? You get all the chargers, stands etc?

I preordered the Wind Waker bundle and a physical copy with Ganon. Also, The Wonderful 101.

I'll be happy to finally have a Wii U, even though I have so many N64 games I haven't played yet. Hopefully one of these days my playing will outpace my spending.

I am pretty excited to play The Wonderful 101 - it looks really fun and quirky to me. I am happy to see a new IP from Nintendo that has so much going for it

A bit of a concern, considering i am really looking forward to getting me a shiny new Wii U later this month. This guy may have some good points......and its rather sad just to think Nintendo may cease to exist in a few years :S

Many of us are biased towards the company but what do you guys think? Here is the link....

I understand his logic and reasoning, but I dispute it. He claims that the Wii U's tech is "sub par" - and it is compared to XB1 and PS4, but so was the Wii. The 2DS just shows that Nintendo realizes that many gamers do not enjoy the 3D aspect and children are gamers too; they therefore offered choice. Nintendo will continue to sell the 3DS (and now the 2DS) exceptionally well. If the author thinks Nintendo is dead in the handheld market, since the majority of his article is talking about tablet and Smartphone gaming, he is dead wrong. Nintendo still owns the handheld market.

As for the Wii U being a "colossal failure" - it isn't. Sure it has half the sales of the Wii at the same point, maybe even a little less than half, but with the price drop and this holiday's releases, it will bounce back. We need to remember that the Wii sold 100 million units, second all time to the PS2 at 154 million. Before that selling 60 million was outrageously good. If the WiiU sells even 40 million units it will be a success. Above that, even better.

Truth is, Nintendo can afford to make 2 more "failed" home consoles and they will still have loads of money left over. They are a family business not looking to sell or make games for the phone or tablet market. I hope it stays that way. Quality games rule. /NintendoNerdRant

I wish and only hope that you are right. My Nintendo saga ended half-way thru the GameCube life span and I haven't touched Nintendo product since (with the exception of some N64) therefore making sure the Wii U is successful would be kinda nice.

It may also be time for Nintendo to really reconsider staff changes, after all who else is responsible for the hardware that is available for it. Its been over a year and.....No new Zelda....new Mario was just announced for late this year and Mario Kart is in 2014. Sad. The truth is, many are believing that this might just be Nintendo's last console.

Lets hope not.

The Gamecube was in the eyes of many analysts a complete failure yet it has brought forward some very good games like Wind Waker.
Nintendo consoles were never defined by their raw power but by their games.

Personally I think Nintendo did get the timing wrong for their Wii-U release. Nintendo fans expect to have one must-have title on release day. And those must-have titles just weren't ready then and still aren't.

It's interesting that most people (including me) agree that hardware specs aren't important because Nintendo is all about the games, but most people (including me) would be bummed if they dropped out of the console wars and pulled a Sega. Wouldn't we then have great games on hardware with great specs?

Still, I've pre ordered a Wii U and I hope they sell 150 million of them.

Its 2013 and they finally stepped up to HD; bout time. So I think hardware is important as well. Games are killing it....I will still get a Wii U and Im already looking at Wii games to buy that I never played because nothing on the Wii U excites me. Sure, WW HD will be fine and all but what else?

i think the main problem why the Wii U didnt sell as much as they expected was the lack of games on release date. 1st party, 3rd party, huge titles, etc. not that the games offered were boring or bad, but when a company as big as Nintendo with a backlog of so many good titles, there's no reason to have a big title on release date to appeal the masses.

I may get one if they release it in Red with Rayman Legends. when I played the demo last year, that game was meant to be on Wii U and should have been an exclusive to Nintendo and handheld. it fits perfectly with the Gamepad.

Nintendo probably doesn't even care if the Wii U totally flops, they've banked alot of money from different sources over the years. They just do what they're good at: making consoles and games that are ideal for young children. It's their reputation, a mother will buy her son a Nintendo rather than a Playstation because she knows that Nintendo has the biggest assortment of games playable for people of young ages

It certainly seems that way, especially considering the way Nintendo of America President responded when asked about the Wii U vs. the next gen console. No one in a highly competitive business should ever respond with a "meh". You can go from hero to zero in no time.

We would never have any of these discussions if they just put out great games on release day. Mario 3D should have been out on release day.

yes and no. most parents will buy what their kid want, unless they have some decent amount of brilliance, which sadly, not every parents have. the generation of 40-45+ have, generally, no clue what video games are, what console to buy or what the heck does a wii/Xbox/Ps3/Kinect/move do. they ask the seller at our favorite electronic store and they buy it off what the seller told them. our generation tho, knows alot more that our parents and we know what console does what and what type of game are suitable for children.

of course there's some exception, some parents are total retard and they dont give a crap what their kids play as long as they dont disturb them when they're not at school.

Like the majority of us, I am also very biased and think the article is a little confused. I have to be honest and stopped reading a little bit into when the author started talking about moving to mobile games though <_<
I saw that one person commented something that I personally think is true, and that is that sure smart phones and tablets are becoming insanely popular, but not everyone has one. I still have an outdated phone that only has text and call available, and I am fine.
Also, I didn't like how the author related all positives to Blackberry. They are completely different companies in situations that aren't remotely close. The 3DS may not be selling as well as its predecessors, but its still selling extremely well and is very profitable. Also to repeat everyone else so far, the Wii U's launch date was poorly made and a lot of hype was created only to die down once people started to wonder what exactly they would play with it, besides NintendoLand. However, I am sure many people will be attracted into buying one soon-ish as bundles, price cuts and 1st party games are becoming a reality.

That is true, though i guess it is subjective whether or not a rated T or rated M game is really bad for your child. In the end, it really is the parents' jobs to teach their child to understand the clear space between a video game and reality, though I think we can all agree their shouldn't be playing GTA at 8 years old. In a sense though I suppose the ESRB is there for a reason, example, I wasn't really exposed to any M games on my ps1 because of it (except my dad who once brought home Resident evil 2 which gave me nightmares for weeks lol). My N64 probably showed me the crudest of all, to be honest, in Conker's BFD haha

EDIT: My point was, I had a Playstation as a first console because my parents didn't really know the difference between that and a Nintendo (which we got 2 or 3 years after) but if/when it comes the time for the kiddo's turn to play, I'll probably let him play with a Nintendo console first.
