Hi all,

I managed to get myself a wee brain problem a month or so back and collapsed at work, apparently something was pressing on something else inside my head and I basically rebooted :D

I've been laid up in hospital for the last 8 weeks unable to do much more than move my eyes and not allowed to even try anything else..

i'm now coming back to normal, still in bed but everything is moving and working as it should and no damage done, they fixed me with a laser apparently without making a big hole in my head so all good.

There wasn't anything wrong as such, just one bit was too close to the other and stopped something else working

I Need to work a bit on getting fit again, as you can imagine after 8 weeks of not moving, i can hardly even lift my arm.

BUT i'm back online now and will be back on the site regularly very soon, I have a few people to add to the members map and I still have a parcel for gamergurl in Australia to send on that i've had for months! but i will sort it all out shortly.

Stuart :yeah:

Here's wishing you a full and speedy recovery Highlander. :yeah:

When you're able, please post the name of your exact condition and what was done to sort it. As you're well aware I'm a student of brain science, neurology and psychiatry so I like to stay abreast of all the latest advancements.

We were worried about you so it's good to discover that you're still alive and kicking. A lot has happened in the N64 collecting scene that we'll need to fill you in on.

@grizzmeister: That very private information would be best contained in a private PM (if there is even a desire to reveal that very personal information).

@Highlander . . . I messed with you're topic title a little. I couldn't resist . . . .when it comes to N64 games, you are THE TERMINATOR :yeah:

Well i'm alive, not much kicking going on though :D

I am home and starting to move now though :yeah: although its hard work!

I will find out the proper name for it, they did tell me once but I can't remember  sounded like it started with a C or a K I think

Basically it was a benign tumour (which makes it sound a LOT worse than it actually was) that means cartilage grows on the inside of the skull.

Its apparently seen more in women but i'm in the textbook age category for it, over 40 is the norm and i'm 44

But its gone and it won't come back, they don't work that way apparently, or at least thats what they told me!

On the upside, i've been completely immersed in Goldeneye for the last week and still finding new stuff in there! :yeah:

Yes it sounds absolutely terrifying.

Thankfully you won't suffer any long-term ill effects and you can continue to live a healthy productive life.

Just thought I'd bring my fellow N64 Forever members up to speed on the amazing progress that's been made recently with respect to the brain.

Quote:

Using magnetoencephalography (MEG), scientists are starting to decode brain waves and decipher human thoughts.

Thanks to government funded brain initiatives in the US and UK progress is being made at an exponential rate.

All this got me wondering how Highlander is coming along in his recovery?
