Watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix last night. One of the female characters was telling another inmate her story. Seems she had a weed farm that the deer were munching on. After trying a bunch of things to keep them out, she started staying up at night with a rifle. One night, she thought she fired at a deer, but tragically, it was the neighbor's kid who was trying to run away from home.

He was running away because his parents took away his Nintendo.

In opening a few unexpected bills this month, I complained to my wife, "Man, we are getting blue shelled this month." She asked for clarification, but I thought it was appropriate. New phrase (?), what do you think?

I don`t have to say how many Nintendo references are in the movie PIXEL... but heck. there are A LOT!!!
DK, Mario(Jump Man), Duck Hunt and way more.. even the Logo you see it a few times

even tho it's a movie by SONY, they only mentioned the Playstation once. and even made fun of it...

Such a strange connection they had :D

Joey and Chandler have an N64 for a series or two of Friends. Can't remember which exactly or find a pic at present. Was pretty cool to see. Don't think they ever played it. They did play the PlayStation though in an episode.

Unlike anyone in my generation I fear, I have never seen all three Back to the Futures. But I'm trying to catch up.

Last night, we started watching BTTF II, and there are Nintendo references in back-to-back scenes! On his way to the "80s Cafe", Marty stares into the window of an "antiques" shop (where he would later, fatefully, purchase a sports almanac). Staring back at him is a boxed copy of LJN's Jaws for NES. It was still selling for peanuts! jk

Then Marty walks into the 80s Cafe. There is a Wild Gunmen arcade cabinet. More than just background eye candy, Marty walks over to show some 11 year olds how it is done. And sure enough, he blasts 3 baddies to smithereens. With that domination grin we've like all had gaming so often, he turns to them and says, see, nothing to it. Unimpressed, they basically mock him and the game for being so old.

My kids are 8, so apparently I only have 3 years of cool left . . . at best! :w00t: >_<

I wish I could be more specific!

Whilst discussing Nintendo as far as singing goes, it is said in the chorus of an American Hi-Fi song back from late 1990s, called Flavour of the week.

Good song to be fair, liked it back in the day.

"Her boyfriend, he don't know
Anything about her
He's too stoned, Nintendo
I wish that I could make her see
She's just the flavor of the weak"

Here's one from HQ, the live mobile trivia game:

What made this great was the lovely and talented host, Sarah Pribis, saying afterwards, "Where is getting an N64 as an anniversary present a thing? 'Cause I want to live there!"

Oh my gosh! Crazy you had never seen them all. Did you happen to notice one of those kids was a very young Elijah Wood?

Mrs Stinger/Skittle is a huge BttF fan. Another buddy of mine actually makes movie memorabilia and collectibles. I have Doc and Marty Licenses, a replica of the letter Marty wrote Doc at the end of the movie, The old walkie talkies from the 3rd movie, and soon will have a glowing replica of the time circuit from the delorean.

I love the Nintendo references in II of course :yeah:

Here's an even better one!

This seems to have been floating online for a few years now.

Joey Ramone playing Nintendo 64.

Posted Image

No one appears to know where this came from. Judging by the tracking line at the bottom, it looks taken from a vhs.
I would certainly like to source this, and i'm not the only one.

Well spotted!

I'd already seen it before, but absolutely loved Bronsan playing Goldeneye! 😍
