The new Mute City track is really nice but Dragon Driftway is incredible. All I can say is - Wow!

Wow indeed... Nintendo did a terrific job with this DLC.
All eight tracks are at least as good as the original selection and some of them really stand out (Hyrule Castle, Mute City).
And i did not expect the new tracks to be selectable for online play so that's a huge bonus and really adds a lot of extra replay value to the game.
Nice side-effect: the servers are crowded with lots of players again

I hear a lot of negativity about one of Mario Kart 8's newest tracks Ice Ice Outpost but I like it because it reminds me so much of F-Zero GX's awesome Cosmo Terminal: Trident.

My friend Steven came over last night for some SSBWiiU and I took the opportunity to show him the new tracks in MK8. Needless to say, he was completely blown away at how beautiful courses like Ice Ice Outpost and Mute City are.

Ice Ice Outpost is an excellent track design and i love it.
Maybe not as pretty as Hyrule Circuit but certainly more challenging

Mario Kart 8 is much more lighthearted than Mario Kart Wii but I still enjoy it. In fact, I think it makes a good compliment to Sm4sh which can be deadly serious at times. The item distribution in MK8 is very peculiar and often leaves me scratching my head after a race. It's like - why did I get coins when the two guys behind me got triple red shells. Come on Nintendo, throw me a bone!

Got to play a little bit of Mario Kart 8 with my family over the holiday.

My dad said, "Why can't I just pick a kart and pick a track like the old days? Why do I have to choose all this junk?"

My nephew said, "My mom says you're the fastest person in the world in Mario Kart... well the 64 one. But I can beat you on this one." 8)

My little brother: "Can we play GoldenEye now?"

It was super fun. My nephews have the game, so they knew what they were doing. Dad literally hasn't played probably any video game since Mario Kart 64. But he's super competitive so he kept playing with them until he beat them. Then in true Dad fashion, quit while he was on top so nobody would have a chance to beat him. Haha.

This is when you and Mrs. kartmaster should have shown him all the mad skills you'd acquired during our Friday night races. ;)

By golly, what a nice surprise from the Big N to bring the DLC pack forward by a month.
I was just thinking about it the other day and lamenting the fact that it would take another two months to arrive.
Can't wait to play the Animal Crossing track, it looks really beautiful and very much "in style".

Meanwhile, i'm still playing MK8 at least once on each and every day.
It's still as challenging but i'm slowly getting better.
But so is the competition! (side note: does the lobby "band" together players with comparable skill/VR levels? i think it does)
Some people are so incredibly good, it makes me wonder if they play 24/7.
The highest ranking player i've encountered so far was a Japanese girl with an almost unbelievable VR of 88.000+
Yeah, i know... how on Earth did she manage that?

I remember thinking 150cc was quite the challenge when the game came out. Still working on 3 star ratings in 150cc. I look forward to the challenge of 200cc.

But most of all, I look forward to Mario Kart 8 tournament nights! Can't wait!

I got ripped off and paid nearly 80 euro for the MK8 LE (plus a keychain).
So yeah, that's a pretty good deal and probably a sound investment as well... buy one or two and sell them in 20 years time :)

It's from store called "Müller" in Germany. It's a pretty big chain in the south.

Ya the NTSC version is like $500 to get... id never pay that for it when its just a little shell statue that comes with it.

Loving DLC #2 plus 200cc update. The new tracks are extemely well done and 200cc is no joke. Easily one starred the Leaf cicuit at 150cc but could not even place on 200cc. Thank you Big N for hours more MK8 gameplay!

Just finished 150cc a fee days prior to the 200cc update. Still need to mirror -which is causing me a headache-, before I dare 200cc.

Okay... tried a single run on Baby Park on 200cc. My favorite Double Dash track. Placed 7th. So I need to practice A LOT.
