Fellow NINTENDO64 entheusiasts,

For those of you who ever wondered exactly how many different pack-ins of those little cars were included with Micro Machines 64 TURBO?- well... from Nintendo to Hasbro, to Codemasters, to Nintendo, and then to Warner Bros... couldn't provide a difinative answer.

But,
EVERY KNOWN bonus vehicle can be traced back to the toy line.

more to come???

I would like to thank Alex- the webmaster of http://www.m-m-world.com/MMBar.html
Without her expertise, this would have never came to fruition.

And to the members of the best NINTENDO64 website.

What i'd like everyone to take away from their efforts here is that, we can now cross-reference their origins!

It has been nearly 20 years- and for me; a testament to what can be learned from the most highly anticipated, short lived, most innovative and diversified console ever created.

Do i believe that this list is complete... No.
And it's NOT from lack of trying!

Again,
Around the time that the N64 game was released, HASBRO merged with GALOOB - the makers of the vehicles.

MIDWAY Games developed the game itself- this could have been an important source for answers,
but i urge you to read what has become of this company today
Wikipedia

Codemasters did tell me they had no involvement in developing MM64TURBO- only the PS and PC versions of MMV3... so i asked them to identify the vehicles packaged with the PC version-
Spoiler: click to toggle

Now from Hasbro- who implied that Nintendo solely owns the rights to Micro Machines 64 TURBO- including ALL intellectual property/ properties- Nintendo then stressed that i contact Warner Bros.
In doing so, have opened a dialogue, but have yet to get a response in quite some time.

Great job on getting this together NO64DD! :yeah:

About a year ago I briefly looked into this myself and kept images of a few different vehicles in my archive, with the intention of investigating further at a later date but never got around to it. Hopefully you will be identify them and match them to pre-exisitng sets:

Edit: actual model names added
#1: Ford Explorer
Posted Image

#2: Mazda MX7
Posted Image

#3: Ford Ranchero
Posted Image

#4: Chevy Pickup
Posted Image

#5: Ford Mustang
Posted Image

#6: Toyota Land Cruiser
Posted Image

#7: VW Beetle
Posted Image

#8: Datsun 240Z
Posted Image

#9: Chevy Corvette Callaway
Posted Image

#10: Joker Van {Unconfirmed / Likely a mismatched item}
Posted Image

I do know that Micro Machines 64 Turbo was released in North America on the 24th March 1999 and was published by Midway, the same day as the PC release (Micro Machines V3) and both games included a free vehicle in a special 'windowed' box. The N64 version was released in PAL regions the following month, published by the developers Codemasters and featured no such promotion.

There is also a NA box variant without the free vehicle included, this is much harder to find and I presume was used for the later pressings of the game.

Wow NO64DD, fantastic topic and thanks to Danilochka too for the further informations and pics.
Great work, I think that N64 Forever needs this kind of further works for N64 maniacs like us hehe.
I will post pics here everytime I find a new car. I really hope that some seller won't put a random MM car in before selling;-)

Man,

we're gonna need a bigger boat lol

You bring up a good point ITALIA...

We may have already have one with #10, i recall was from an ebay auction,it was the JOKER van. It was in poor condition, seemed out of place. But i'm not ruling it out yet.

Hey, this is why i did this... process of elimination

And thanks to Danilochka , we are off to an AMAZING start!

I'll keep the original post updated! Stay tuned

Can't remember for sure, but I think I have a NIB factory sealed copy of this game... locked away in the depths of my storage. If so, I have no idea which car was included!! X_D

Awesome for putting this together... I stopped paying attention when I found 5 or so different ones. I believe I own the Blue SUV, the orange car and the red car still. Amazing how many there were!

My suspicions were correct,

{#10} Red van

Is none other than the Joker himself... it isn't even a Micro Machine!!

Well done for figuring out what the cars were and their associated sets so fast!

It turns out you're right about the Joker Van being number #10 as I have found the original ebay auction, however the actual van is a different model to the one you've posted above. Although I still take this with a pinch of salt, as including this vehicle must require some sort of licensing argeement and it seems just slightly too big for the packaging.

I forgot to mention in my original post that the following boxes were sealed:
- Blue Ford Mustang
- Purple Chevy Pickup
- Red VW Beetle

That is the ERTL JOKER Van- which is full size and all from the ERTL Batman Collection.

I decided not to post that pic, but i'm glad you did.
i remember the listing where those pictures came from... the owner jammed that mini Joker vehicle inside the box and tried to get someone to buy it. Ha!

Then included the full size van pic for the close-up...

I bought this when it came out. None of the above cars look familiar to what I got. I want to say the vehicle in mine was a BMW. I've packed away all my Micro Machines as my son is too young to play with them yet. I'll have to try to dig mine out and see if I can find it.

Great list!

The copy I have of the no-window box came from Blockbuster, which makes sense. The rental places would have had no need for the pack-in premiums.

Well, I think I'm going to have to take back what I said. The BMW I was thinking of looks like it came as part of a "metallic" set.

I do have a Toyota Land Cruiser, but it has a different paint scheme than pictured above.

Posted Image

Now that I've looked at what few cars I have left... the less sure I am about what came in the package. :( Though I can pretty much guarantee that the N64 Micro Machines pack-in would have been the last Micro Machine I ever bought.

Afraid I'm not much help.

I understand KartMaster,… boy that Landcruiser looks a little rough around the edges;

After these past few weeks, i'm feeling the same way! Haha

UPDATE

A (sealed display) pic that belongs to Brodieman was taken earlier today from the Sealed n64 games thread...

From the available picture, it looks like we have ANOTHER included vehicle to add to the list!

So,
I was reluctant to immediately post just my own opinion, but my keen eye was correct. And even more so, the discovery came by chance from fellow member Brodieman

Yes, i did identify the vehicle prior to his post here-

SWEET ride!!

ironically, it is in the same succession as from post #1 above- and from the same Micro Machines set!
Enough suspense, I will update post#1 immediately

Here's to the Brodieman LAND ROVER 8)

I love collecting these things. Here's the one I think you were asking to see. Looks like a Land Rover to me but it doesn't say. Maybe Toyota Land Cruiser.

Great discovery Brodieman!
it's times like these that make up for the exorbitant effort i took trying to convince the companies involved with MM64 TURBO in divulging "how many" or "which vehicles" in the first place!

... it doesn't matter if they can't- or won't answer such simple questions. Because the pattern is being decoded one way or another.
Funny that i don't have this issue when talking to japanese corporate.

Cheers!

Nice one Cabanon!
I might ask for a top view of the car, but it's not necessary...
I can already tell it is the 64 Mustang. :-8

Meaning it would be the last car to be discovered from the 1996 #3 TOP SELLERS set- making it the first full set of cars to be a part of the "bonus vehicles" included in Micro Machines 64TURBO.

Highly unlikely that any of this was just thrown together for the auction.

looks LEGIT :yeah:

And as this thread has shown, the same formula applies with these bonus vehicles...
With that said, factoring all the information, can prove with near certainty -the number of bonus vehicles included with the PC version of MMV3 is 4
