Time to sell my 3DS XL Zelda version I guess. Never played more than 5 minutes with it because the viewing angle for having perfect 3d was too small for my eyes/head/brain. |

Yeah I thought about selling mine too. It may have to happen now that this is superior. I would love to keep it, but that's only if finances allow.. I never imagined they could fix the 3D viewing angle! I'm really excited to see this! |

I think they look Awesome!! The buttons on the normal 3DS are very creative and it has a "history" the color of the NEW 3DS LL looks cool to! How the hell did they do the new 3DS angle.. wow |

Lovely new models and specs but it does worry me slightly that there probably wont be much software that will take full advantage of the new hardware. It will only be a small(ish) percentage of the installed base and it won't make a lot of economic sense to release stuff that doesn't play on a standard 3DS. I'm sure it will bring a much needed sales boost; if only because all the fanboys like me will buy one regardless (and Nintendo knows this very well). |

I'm not a fan It's either gonna completely screw people owning current 3DS's, or be worthless owning The smart move would be to wait 2 or 3 years then release a completely new handheld... |

I can see where you are coming from, but at the same time I am always excited to receive new stuff from Nintendo. If they did this type of thing often, I would be upset. |

people gonna be  as hell. "HEY MOM THERE'S A NEW 3DS GAMES I WANT". mom goes to whatever store and buy it. omce back home and the game dont work in the 3ds. she's like WTF ? it's written 3DS on the case, why it doesnt work. goes back to store and ask what's going on and cashier tell her it's for the new 3DS LL. she goes berserk and cant get refund because she opened the game.this is gonna be funny as hell for the employee ! |

Thank goodness some of us in retail-land know our stuff and will hopefully be able to subvert many issues but I am sure you are correct that there will be some upset people in that situation out there somewhere. |

that wil happen anyway. But if they can sell a couple of million extra consoles to suckers like me by upgrading the platform in the meantime, good for them. Ditto for the 2DS: diversification doesn't cost nearly as much money & time as a new platform and helps to boost the numbers.
Nah, the same was said about the DS and 3DS names... "too similar, it will confuse grandparents and now Nintendo is doomed" there's not a lot you can do with an expansion pack besides adding a bit of memory. No, i understand the (marketing) logic behind it and really appreciate that it will be released at the same price level but i think it's going to end up like the "more powerful" DSi that got very little software. I know there was a special enhanced "Plus" version of the Korg DS-10 music app but that's about it as far as i know. And that was never released in Europe! Edited by Mk II, Aug 30 2014, 10:03 AM.

Exactly, everything will be gravy! I only see it as a positive addition to the handhelds. I'm stoked to see the software they create for it! Plus I always thought the 3ds XL was a little cheaply made. Of course it will outlast any other handheld, but it was definitely cheaper to manufacture than the original 3ds. Those are sleek! I think the new XL looks more refined, and in my opinion it will be closer to the original. |

Seems like a strange move to me. Not sure if I will pick you up yet, guess I'll wait and see how many games make sure of the extra power of this new unit. DOnt really want to buy a 3rd 3DS though. |

maybe but when the 3DS was launched, there was a number added to ''DS'' which in the current case, there's not. |

I'll admit they do need a better name. It is following the super mario bros name example though, so it isn't just out of nowhere. Only time will tell, but I personally am okay with the name. My only issue is the buttons, I think they should have the same button colors on the XL as the smaller 3ds. That would've been sweet |

All about the New 3DS The new 3D viewing angle has been explained! They will make use of a gyroscope in order to figure out where the 3DS is facing. It will adjust the screens position in order to make the 3D blur disappear. Pretty nifty and innovative! Nintendo always inventing awesome ways to get the most out of gaming.

As long as you don't drop it and ruin the gyro, you'll be fine. But, adding the gyro probably means no special LL software/games, which in turn means my Super Smash 3DS (if it's the "old" XL), will still play everything

I have given the name some thought and i think Nintendo should name it "3DS+" here in the West. Clear, concise and to the point. Nintendo can use my suggestion free of charge
