Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U; Official Thread

Hey has anyone here playing the 3DS demo noticed that it's saving the coins you earn in battle? Do you think they'll transfer those coins to the full game once you get it?

EDIT: I found out the answer to my own question: not really. They do transfer the coins, but only up to 500 of them. Seeing as I had 5000+ by the time I got the full game, 500 isn't really a lot.

Been a while since I have logged on. Sorry about that guys! Anyways after starting my new job at Gamestop I realized how big of a game Super Smash bros is to everyone, not just us Nintendo Players. There has been numerous cases of which I have sold a a system of the 3DS family or a Wii U to a person JUST for Super Smash Bros. Nintendo has finally made the right move with all this stuff they are announcing and releasing for this game. I think they are smart with the 11/21 release date because Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are also released that day.

Fantastic news though, ultimately, it doesn't do me any good. I still have to wait until Christmas to get my copy. :(

Is there any improvement to the gamecube controller that comes with the bundle, in terms of performance, or is it worth purely for collecting purposes?

(I ask this because it seems cheaper to get Game+Adapter bundle and get a controller elsewhere than getting the complete bundle)

As far as I know, no one has gotten their hands on one of the new GameCube controllers to give a detailed analysis or review. I would imagine that Nintendo will use the longer cord length of the Japanese exclusive White GC controllers rather than that of the Indigo and Black originals. This is merely speculation at this point, however.

Since Melee and Brawl are still played competitively, I'm sure there will be plenty of happy Smashers eager to get their hands on the new GC controllers when they become available. The price is certainly right on them with a MSRP of just 30 bucks which is cheaper than a Wii U Pro Controller although the former admittedly requires a $20 adapter.

Gotta admit that I'm really looking forward to the new Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. November 21st can't get here soon enough for me! :w00t:

First of all, That voice is Hilarious so Dramatic for the smallest things which is awesome

Second of all.. That game is Freakin MASSIVE ..

There must be like 800 trophies and 300 OST's consider the 3DS version has 600 of them ... (at least 600 because to get the Jii Trophy you get it by: "Collect 600 or more unique trophies."
The music is fantastic as always, I can`t wait til there is like an CD box with ALL the music on it..

And that "character" at the very end.. I think my heart stopped.. It's to much!

The downside though: Smash Run for 3DS is I think my favorite run, It's to bad that It's only for the 3DS.. I don`t like that "board" game on the Wiiu..
and I liked the regular single mode more on the 3DS.

and are you able to transport your entire savegame to the Wiiu? They did not mentioned it .. I spend HOURS on the 3DS game though.

I really don't know what is going on at my store but we didn't get either of the Pokemon games nor Super Smash Bros for Wii U today. And that's surprising because the Wii U has been selling pretty well there since even before Mario Kart 8 (which we got gobs of and sold many). We also had quite a few copies of the 3DS Smash Bros that also sold well. I'm really disappointed in my store right now.

Just spent a couple hours playing SSBWiiU both on-line and off; the game is seriously addictive. This is going to hold me over for a very long time given how much there is to unlock. :D

Random SSBWiiU thoughts:

1) This game offers so much fun regardless of whether you're a serious or casual player. It is a BRILLIANT piece of software that must be experienced by anyone who has even a mild interest in the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

2) On-line can be a laggy mess at times but generally it's better than Brawl. Those of you who played Brawl on-line know that really isn't saying much but nonetheless, SSB4 is acceptable most of the time and spectacular at others.

3) Word is that the GC Adapters are hard to find so if you see one out in the wild it may be wise to snap it up. I'm really happy that I prepurchased mine! :w00t:

Last thing; Nintendo gave me 70 coins when I registered Super Smash Bros. Wii U at Club Nintendo. :yeah:

I can't wait to get mine :) I pre-ordered it and it was supposed to have been sent by mail but it didn't arrive on Friday :(
I'm looking forward to playing with friends as well, but being the only one who actually owns a Wii U, I'll need to pick up some more controllers :-/

Another random thought:

Anyone who's played Soul Calibur V will immediately recognize Namco Bandai's influence in the art style of SSBWiiU. To my eyes it's especially evident in the gorgeous Final Destination stage.

OMG, I've been playing so many 1-on-1 For Glory matches that my hands are literally throbbing. :-8

Late last night I had an epic battle with me using Mario and my opponent picking Greninja. The fight went right down to the wire but I finally knocked him out of the stage with a perfectly timed smash attack. It's extremely satisfying having Mario be a viable character again after he was so nerfed in Melee and Brawl.

I'm also using Falco, DK and Wario a lot depending on whether I'm playing For Fun or For Glory.
