Now that they've been out for a little while... PS4 or Xbox ONE???

My wife just got hooked on Destiny, so she has convinced me that a White PS4 is in our near future (didn't really take much convincing).

BUT

I have convinced her that a White PS4 won't look as good, unless we have a White Xbox ONE sitting next to it.

I just STILL don't have many games in mind, that makes me NEEEEEEED either, just yet.

I always LOVED Killer Instinct, but the new game is just REDICULOUSLY hard, for me.

We will get Sunset Overdrive, with the White Xbox ONE. Otherwise I think we might get Transistor and Child of Light for PS4, and Destiny, of course.

But, what else should I be interested in??? (I'm not interested in sports or racing, by the way.)

I don't get why people want white consoles... every TV etc tends to be black, and it's best to have matching

For exclusives, Xbox One, for multi plats, PS4 imo.

X1 has better exclusives so far, but PS4 versions of multi plats will generally always be superior

In the short term the Wii U is just fine for me but I'm eventually going to get a PS4. No plans on getting a Xbox One as none of my friends have or want one.

I have pre-ordered the Call of Duty edition Xbox one for two reasons.

1. It has a terabyte of memory instead of the normal 500GB xbox one.
2. My brother, brother-in-law, and all my friends have xbox's

If my friends had ps4 I wouldve a ps4. Simple as that.

I went for the PS4 this Gen as I felt that it was superior after looking at the two side by side. I'll eventually get an Xbox One but I'm pretty happy with my PS4 at the moment. It's a great gaming machine :yeah:

I just picked up the Xbox One the other day. I wanted the PS4 more by far, but I have played both and am very happy with my Xbox. Like you guys, my choice was swayed by what my friends have/plan to have.

I would say get the PS4 if you have no biases. It's the superior system for sure

I know I'll be picking up an Xbox One (for its exclusives) eventually... but the PS4 has been more than enough to scratch any current-gen itches I have.

(I've become a HUGE fan of the cross-play, cross-save, cross-buy capabilities between the PS4 and Vita!)
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I don't have a Vita yet.

I want both of the new consoles, for their own exclusives.

I want them in White, because the Wife wants Destiny, and I think the White Xbox ONE looks pretty nice in White.

I have some Gray consoles under the TV, and I am a fan of special edition consoles, PLUS it shows that I don't jump into the "Day One" bandwagon. :P

I purchased a PS4 because it was the more powerful console at the time and I liked its controller better. However, I've noticed most of the online games on it are laggy compared to how online games on my Xbox 360 were so now I'm considering getting an Xbox One.

Yeah, I'm thinking that if I go ahead and get an Xbox One I might as well wait and get the X. I don't own a 4k TV yet so if impulse gets the better of me I might just pull the trigger on a refurb. I wonder if these are like Wii U refurbs that are probably new models that Nintendo sells cheaper because they can circumvent the retail chains?

No, I think they're actually repaired units. I haven't heard the best things about MS refurbs, and the 90 day warranty is concerning. Nintendo offers 1 year still.

I notice your point Grizz about lag and I've noticed this lately. I don't do an awful lot of online gaming but when I do I do get my fair share of lag which can be frustrating.

Still, I am happy with the PS4 I chose back in Dec 14.

You know, it's really weird because I have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on the PS4 and it's laggier than the original game was back on the Xbox 360. That's so surprising to me considering my internet connection now is substantially better. I suspect Sony cheaps out on the number of dedicated servers which doesn't make much sense given how successful the PS4 has been. <_<

Anyhow, watching so many Killer Instinct videos on YouTube really has me wanting to play the newest version online against other real people. I've got Street Fighter V for my PS4 but that game has really been a major disappointment. Not only is the online laggy but they changed Dhalsim's moveset so drastically that he hardly feels like the same character. :(

I have a PS4 pro and an Xbox one but only play games on the PS4. As you say Stinger, the exclusives are amazing on that console - Uncharted, the last guardian, Horizon zero dawn plus on the horizon shadow of the colossus remake, the last of us 2 and Uncharted lost legacy etc.

I didn't know it was laggy online though. I don't play online games (except Mario kart) so it doesn't affect me but good to know.

I'm with stinger, the exclusives make it for me. As for lag, I can't say I have encountered much on GTA Online and that's about the only thing I get online to play.

Just to be clear, I'm not thinking of getting rid of my PS4 but rather just adding an Xbox One. Right now I've got a PlayStation 4 and Wii U under my TV, but I hardly ever play the Wii U anymore so I'm thinking about boxing it up and putting the XB1 in its place.

it's not Sony who's hosting the server, but the game developpers. unless im wrong.

Yeah, If it is anything like Battlefield the Publisher/developer controls the servers. EA in the case of Battlefield.

PS4, for the exclusives. I'm way more into games like The Last of Us, Until Dawn, Uncharted, The Last Guardian, and the large library of JRPGs that Sony always has, than games like Halo and Gears of War. While I wouldn't pay a few hundred dollars for an Xbox One, I also wouldn't sell one off if I were to win one or get one as a gift. I do have plenty of friends with Xbox Ones who I would gladly play certain games online with but this gen my priority was definitely with Sony's console.
