The Bayonetta 2 demo is now available in all regions in advance of its 10/24 release date.

I played the demo last night and I think I might be playing it 14 more times (limit is 15 plays). I really enjoyed it.

I know I'm a Sin & Punishment (N64) fanboy, but B2 seems very reminiscent of S&P in a good way. You are being moved around from one improbable location to the next, battling waves of enemies, wondering what is going on without having to bother guessing where you are supposed to go/find next. In fact, the copper colored serpent creature in one of the first battles in the demo seems like it is a direct nod to S&P's opening stage featuring a similar (albeit more polygonated) serpent.

Anyone else playing (or planning on playing) Bayonetta 2?

I probably won't be playing the demo as I have a gazillion other games to play and I've never been a fan of demos and stuff, but I'll definitely be getting the full game sooner or later. I loved the first game, and Bayonetta 2 looks very promising!

I do not think North America is getting anything like that. My pre-order comes with Bayonetta 1 "packed in" so I think it is a separate physical disc/case, but not 100% sure. (same here never played 1)

Great demo but i'm not too sure this is the kind of game i like in the longer run.
It looks absolutely terrific - who says Wii U is not really next-gen? - but so hectic that i'm never really sure what i'm doing or to who(m).

Eh, Bayonetta 2 doesn't look too hot IMO, it's very jaggy, but it controls great and that's the most important thing, I got pure platinum on the demo, can't wait for the full game

Some advice, do multiple playthroughs, bayonetta is a game that's very easy to pick up, but takes time and experience to master

i'm never really sure what i'm doing or to who(m).

Had two more goes at B2 tonight, this time with the Wii U Pro Controller. I definitely felt more in command...less button mashing and more purposeful attacks. No death run on attempt 3, yippee.

Put my order in today, I'm really liking this one (and I hear only good things about the original, which is a pack-in with B2  ).

Americas pre-orders have been very disappointing lately. Theres tons of things I would have loved to get the pre-order bundle of; Mariokart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros 3ds Console bundle etc... but they're only for Pal and Japan except for a limited run from the Nintendo Store in NYC so now if I want them i'm going to have to fork out stupid money to get them :cussfit:

@BDR : I DL'd it last night, and I am sold! I agree, I don't have a pro controller anymore because I didn't use the one I had. After playing this with the gamepad I think that is all going to change haha

The last time Nintendo had titles like these was with P.N.03 —I only hope they don't "tone" anything down for this sequel. ♠

Wow this game is scoring 9+ all over the place. Played the demo last night and thought it was ok, enjoyed the demo but worry that I will get bored of the constant button mashing.

Still going to buy the game and see how I go. :yeah:

So the reviews are in on this game, and they are outstanding. Suddenly a game that wasn't on my to buy list has just made an appearance. Might have to give this a crack.

As the Mrs. has a date with some girlfriends tonight, I have a date with a witch, but still wrestling with starting with B1 (where it began) or B2 (love that demo). Which Bayonetta will you be playing first? Poll added above.

Wanted to buy the 2 disc edition (and preorder the first Amiibo wave) but an unexpected 400 euro garage bill put a quick stop to that.

Started replaying the first game again, unfortunately, the Wii U gamepad has a awful battery, and keeps dying on me... Really getting annoying now.

I decided to play B1 first, and am definitely enjoying it. (You can imagine my delight in hearing the OutRun theme playing in Enzo's the car radio!) So much action, so many things B can do. Though I earned a pure platinum or two on some of the short fights, I'm still a bit clumsy with the combos I'm afraid, so I'm stuck at those dragons at the end of Chapter 2.

Yeah I scored a couple of pure platinum on the short stages too. The dragons took me a couple of tried but I did get past them, i'm stuck a little further on.

Have you tried any of the other outfits yet

I did review the options, but no. The standard black works  X_D . Have you?

BTW, I did find a somewhat helpful guide on Mahalo.

@buddy: two updates. I beat those pesky dragons after discovering the joys of air attacks and making a few technique pickups at the GoH. I also tried the yellow outfit; i liked the lack of wardrobe malfunctions, but the Bowser fist instead of hair was weird (and the low angle shots a bit awkward). Standard black it is.

While I am enjoying B1 immensely, it exhausts me! I just started Chapter 4 in the (awesome!) old coloseum and fought the double dragon ( :D ) angel for what seemed like 15 minutes, falling off the platform, jumping off lava, doing the best megatons yet, and still fell defeated. Granted this is really the first serious post-N64 game I'm trying to tackle, but tough, yes?!?

Little update on my progress through Bayonetta 1. I am now on chapter 7 and still enjoying the game however I do find it extremely annoying having to fight the same "mini bosses" over and over again. Sometimes I struggle to get past them and think phew wont have to do that again only to run down the level a bit and fight them again.

To be honest I think i'm pretty rubbish at the game but as frustrating as it can be I mostly play it was a big smile on my face.

Has anyone finished 1 and started 2, is 2 better than the first and in what ways?

Exactly my thoughts about Grace and Glory! They are so aggressive, very hard to deal with.

Yep thats the one i'm talking about lol. Some tries I didnt even get a hit in and died and then others I almosts killed one without a hit to be killed in one of their combos. A good tip I found was to kill one and then use his weapon against the other to kill it straight away.

It took me an hour, and a mega pop, but I FINALLY beat the 4 grace and glories!! What a pain! I never figured out what the angel arms did; it just seemed to mess up my attacks. My best discover was to use the Umbran portal kick ALOT. UPK, then pather run to the end of the hall, UPK, repeat. Still had to man up and do combo attacks in total chaos, but finally done.

As unpleasant as that was, the fight against the angel bayonetta was pretty cool. Onto Chapter VII.

Just a quick update. Onto Chapter 13 for me. The visuals and concepts continue to astound me (again, grain of salt since I mostly play retro games). I total get the love / hate thing, because every time Grace and Glory make an appearance, I'm like C'MON!! :bowser: But getting more proficient at beating them now (--> --> X with sword works well). The levels vary in length; some being short and some are really, really long, and the save point system is really confusing to me (can save after some "verses" but not others?!?).

Definitely glad to have started with B1. There is a pretty massive (but simple) backstory there, and I anticipate it will all come together by the end and make sense and B2 more enjoyable. We'll see....

And I finally :-8 figured out the Angel Attack mini game. Last time earned enough points for a Red Hot Shot.
