Grace and glory either get easier to beat or I got better lol. I was half way through the game before I even knew I coudl use the sword but once I did there was no going back..

Dont know if you saw on the finished 2014 thread but I completed the game a few days ago, really enjoyed it in the end and the last boss is a lot easier than you would think. Also don't make the mistake I nearly did and turn the game off when the credits roll. Trust me watch the credits.

Going to complete Halo 2 and then Metro last light before I move onto number 2.

Good work, Buddy! Really glad you enjoyed it (and took it down). And thanks for the advice about the credits intrigued, but I think I know where that is going,   . . . .

Hey, maybe if you give me a 2 month lead, we might finish B2 about the same time :D

No rude bits lol.

I think it took me around 13 hours in total to complete. Also the game saves at every check point so you dont have to finish a chapter before you turn it off. Just get to a check point and get time you load you will start there. :yeah:

Chapter 15 Tower of Truth (terror more like it) is in the books. Basically had to square off against every single angel enemy to date. Fun to whip them again. I could have done without the disappearing platform jumps (is this NSMBU or Bayonetta??). I finally figured out the whole potion thing, so there were plenty of lollipops to go around. Just two chapters left . . .

Got through Chapter 16 pretty easily. Balder wan't as hard as I feared. But The final boss/ chapter is giving me fits. You jump, you dodge, you attack, you fall into a nearly unavoidable whirlpool and instantly die! And given my challenge to comprehend save vs. Load, at my next gaming session, I start back at the chapter's beginning. I'm sure I'll git er done, but regret not purchasing the bat within technique.

Found grace and glory must harder lol.
Granted :D !! I took great pride in leaving their statutes intact in the Tower of Truth. Frankly, I had nothing left to prove to those behemoths :D

I'm sure you have much greater skillz that this "Stoner" (kids, that's an achievement award reference, not anything else). Very impressive that you cruised past Jubileous. I've got the motorcycle jumps down now, and the lava and the ice sections. A little queasy about the air battle section, but sure I'll get past it once again. It's that darn whirlpool that I fear (ironic given all of the ghastly creatures up to that point :D ) But thanks for the encouragement. :yeah:

Thanks Kartmaster!

@buddy: the credit and post credit events were great! The developers did not want this game to end, lol. And they were just plain showing off their immense talents with "the dance", which was really fun. Found this rockin' tribute to Let's Dance Boys on youtube, which I could listen to all day:

My completion time was just shy of 18 hours, with all stones (except for a gold in the intro, lol) mostly because I unwittingly missed areas within Chapters, and used pops and shots for the last few stages, but my goal was to play it, have fun and build up some skill to enjoy B2. All set.

Yeah I mostly got stones because I missed parts, but like you I was never trying to get silver or gold on each level.

Thinking I might start B2 before I play the next metro game.

Excellent! I enjoyed playing B1 contemporaneously with you and comparing notes (granted, that may have been a one-way street, lol, me=noob). I know B2 is next on my play list (vaulting over DK Tropical Freeze and Monster Hunter and a no-kids run at Super Mario 3D World); my game time is on a "when family is sleeping" basis, but I think I'll have a some time this week to begin. Anxious to see what is the same, what is different and what challenges await my new favorite heroine.

Cool, will do.

True, I think it's just you and me at this point, particularly with the SSB release on Friday. Most Wii U gamers are officially OCCUPIED for the next few months, lol.

1 or 2 others enjoying and discussing B2 is fine by me; but who knows what synergistic effect our little discussion/thread might have :D

I just started B2 tonight on 2nd Climax. Even more stunning and fluid than B1. Completed the prologue and all 13 verses of Chapter 1. The Umbran Climax definitely makes battles a little easier (as evidenced by my Silver for the first chapter). Not to sure about this Loki character, but I did not like Luka at first either, so we'll see. Wish it wasn't so late, love to play more.

A few more chapters down. Much shorter than Chapter 1. Increased skills, earlier use of hot shot and pops, and the Umbran = no deaths so far. Definitely not experiencing the "I hate this battle so much why is it so impossibly hard" feelings that B1 occasionally caused, and exploring more because I fear no battle ATM.

There are those portals on the ground that go to battle areas, but you probably hit them. As you explore there are random battles that pop-up. In that venice looking city, I had one of these random encounters in a shallow pool. On the rooftops, I run basically the wrong way to a dead end; another battle ensued. These areas (so far) so not have massive bosses, so they are very winnable fights.

Ps, you can look at the spoiler now.

Got through Chapters 4 and 5 last night. Glad to have invested in the bat within technique because the Masked Lumen Sage is tough. Starting to find Loki more intriguing. Still no continues needed :yeah:

Also, definitely was good to play through B1 first. While B1's story is not exactly the paragon of clarity, I think I would be totally confused or missing many references while playing B2

I'm on Chapter 8 and still no deaths, starting to think I should've picked the hard difficulty. Still enjoying the game a lot though.

I noticed on the Chapter title screen is states the difficulty level; I'm not sure but I think you can change the difficulty there. Are you starting to miss hearing "The shadow remains hot!", lol???

:D No I dont miss that a bit but maybe the challenge made it a bit more fun. I've got Silver on all but one level where I got gold and thats with missing verses too. I'm going to continue in this setting but next time I play through I'm going to play it on the hard setting

Flying through this game, got through 5 chapters last night. Half way through chapter 13 (if it saved) and I am really happy i took the gamble on this game. My main worry was I woudl get bored of the action but its just too much fun. Rodin is such nutcase in this game  Hopfully tonight I'll have enough time to finish this one off but I will play through this again on a harder setting at some point.

Done

Got harder towards the end but I only died once (although I did use 3 hot shots so maybe 3 times) in the whole game so thats not bad. Must say it was an enjoying ride. Last boss was much hard than the last boss in the first game but a better battle I think.

This would make a great co op game, woudl be good fun playing through with some one else.

BDR: during the still cut scenes on 2 is the image quality on your version really low res? Mine was really pixelated and looked terrible, i'm sure it was like that on Bayonetta one or the beginning of 2 for that matter.

Congrats, Buddy! You are Bayonetta!! (Wait, that sounds weird :D ). You knocked B1 and B2 down in no time.

Glad to hear you enjoyed B2. I could related to your feelings about loving and hating B1 at the same time because some of the bosses were so darn hard (Grace and Glory X2, I am once again looking at you). I knew you would fly past me on this one (I think I'm at Chapter 7).

I'll check out the cut scene quality. Haven't noticed anything off so far.

I hope you'll check back because chances are I'll be begging for your sage-like advice as the difficulty ramps up. I REALLY struggled with the final B1 boss (mostly because of the insta-death whirlpools), so the final B2 boss sounds like it will give me quite a run.

I have been so impressed by B1 and B2 that I just ordered Platinum's other Wii U title, The Wonderful 101, which was also recommended by Matt here. If you have it or are inclined to get it for the holidays, maybe we could do another concurred play-through. Or co-op of B2 once I finish (and we can coordinate a time, though NYC and UK time presents a challenge)

Congrats, again. :yeah:
