On emulators, you can actually configure the Perfect Dark controls to a dual stick controller- left stick body, right stick head. It messed up aiming though. I haven't tried it with goldeneye, but it's probably just the same. I have to say, it made me wish for a dual-stick N64 controller. As much as I love my 25 N64 controllers, the dual-stick controllers are just better-designed, at least for first person shooters. -And dual sticks are better when they're the same size (cough gamecube cough).
