avoid lag on hdtv; game lag

my rgb modded n64 looks good connected to my Samsung hdtv And picture is very impressive but the downfall is terrible lag. is there a convertor of any kind I can buy to stop the lag?

convertor will ADD lag. the problem reside in your TV. not much you can do sadly.

That's not true.

If you're feeding your TV a 480i signal that it then deinterlaces and scales to 1080p, it might cause input lag if the internal scaler isn't very quick.

However an external scaler that's very high quality can be faster than the internal scaler than the tv. The signal coming off is 1080p, therefore you can bypass the TVs scaler, and overall the lag will decrease. Obviously this is very dependent on the external scaler and your TV.

ah yeah in this case maybe (I have still doubt about it) but a high quality converter will cost a fortune. I know it's been talked somewhere here and the prices were around 250$ I think.

check your TV settings menu for a "game mode" or something similar. Some have 'm, some don't but you might get lucky
