I am not going to lie, I love racers and the faster the better. Blah, blah, blah, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, blah, blah, blah (you've heard it all before from me).

After being teased for over a year, FAST Racing NEO is finally going to released exclusively on the :Wii U: this month (and maybe this week :w00t: ).

I am all in on this one. It looks amazing and super fast. Local 4 players or compete against 8 online, awesome. Its developer, Shin'en, has done great work in the past: I am a big fan of Iridion II (GBA) and Nano Assault NEO (Wii U).

Apparently, Shin'en has a major announcement tomorrow, so I am expecting a release date and price info, but we'll see. Until them, enjoy this trailer AND TELL ME I'M WRONG X_D :

(Jaw-dropping HD version available here: FAST Racing Trailer)

Is this on anyone else's wish list?

None planned. But I could totally see this surpassing a few eShop games that eventually got physical releases like Shovel Knight and Giani Sisters. And Shin'en is no stranger to physical releases, so we shall see . . . .

By way of an update, FAST Racing NEO will available in the eShop in North America and Europe on December 10th. The cost will be €14.99 / $14.99 / £10.99, which frankly, seems very reasonable.

Played last night and it's super fast, gorgeous and has that one-more-time appeal.

I had difficulty with the first cup in Subsonic, but LIKE ANY OTHER RACER, you need to learn the track and it helps to pick the right vehicle. For the first cup, the lightweight 900lb vehicle was great...handles much better that the others.

The trigger buttons aren't a true slide like in MK8, so holding one down will likely send you into a wall. Tapping worked better for adjusting my craft's direction.

At 10PMish in the States, I did about 5 online races. I had to watch the race finish...which I rather enjoyed, as the game itself has no replay. I've heard others experienced freezing, bit no freezes to report on my end. There were 4-8 crafts in each race. Would be better if they had AI round out the field.

NEO is really fast, and unlike my favorite racer of all time, SWE1R, there is no instance in which you can or need to slow your craft. No giant hairpins, and the AI is so tough you need to go, go, go. The courses I've raced are fairly straight, so plenty of boost opportunities, and not super hard to learn the track.

I do wish there was more downtime activity (like picking ship upgrades), because the level of concentration require can frazzle the nerves a bit. But for a $15 eShop game, content seems appropriate.

One day in, its not my game of the year, but happy with my purchase and look forward to playing through championship mode and when my ship/skills are ready, doing more online racing.

wow. this looks like f zero GX on steroids, but ten times more beautiful. it's how i'd wish a new F zero to look like.

from the level design, to the gameplay, to the cars. this is F zero GX in everything but name.

this is actually the first game that makes me look up from playing my gamecube and say "wow, maybe i'd have to check this out" 8)

Action, I am loving this one. It is so fast and you need to learn the tracks and the racing mechanics. But then you learn them and really EARN the trophies. And I like going back and working for 1st place trophies and better "world rank" scores.

This game looks really like F-Zero but you know.. it's been AWHILE since a future-racing game was released. This looks GOOD and very awesome. I think it's worth buying and you know what.. I think I will. this looks soo good!

I'm not too sure if I convinced many (or any) of you to get FAST Racing NEO, but if you've played it, you've probably loved it, and so you'll love this:

A DLC, called "FAST Racing NEO: NEO Future Pack" is dropping this week! On 09/30/16, you'll be able to buy eight new tracks, ten new vehicles and 18 new music tracks. The price is a stupid reasonable €4.99, £4.20 (which I think is about $7.50).

There is also a physical disc on its way (release date TBA) with both the original game and the DLC. At first, I loved the idea, but since all of my accomplishments are via my download of the main game, I think I'll stick with the downloaded versions.

The only reason why I held off on getting this game was because it was digital only, definitely gonna get physical when it releases.

Well, I do not think you guys will be disappointed. The first few times I played it, I was like, whoa, this is way too fast. But you adjust to the controls, learn the tracks and then those gamer reflexes kick in and you feel like a total boss.

Just wish I had Rocky's crystal ball to know this would get a physical release! :D
@Rocky: This is a bummer (Nintendolife interview with Shin'en):

"Q: Are there plans to bring the retail version to North America?
A: Currently not."

The only good news for us Yanks is that the DLC is reported to be only $4.99. Steal.
