Anyone else got this?

Having a ball play through many classics and unlocking the videos and stuff 😎.

Amazing value for money, was worth it just to get the few games I missed back in the day, but all the other stuff is pretty dam nice too!

Was confirmed not to be the case by Rare.

If you have a X1, you owe it to yourself to get this, even if you have most of the games included, the bonus videos etc are nice, and if you don't have them (mainly Banjo Tooie for us PAL folk) and Conkers BDF, this is a great way to get a copy cheap!

I agree, great value for money for playing such an array of classics. Still, can't beat playing the awesome titles on the 64.

This seems like a good thread to share that Rare Replay is $20 at Walmart these days so if you live somewhere with a Walmart nearby and you haven't picked it up yet now might be the time.

To be fair, that depends on the game, stuff like Perfect Dark i'd recommend playing on Rare Replay, having a consistent framerate does wonders for that game, Banjo Kazooie is hit or miss, if you hated recollecting notes every time you entered a level, the rare replay version changed that to match Tooie, although obviously that's not original so it's down to the player.

Honestly, my favourite part of Rare Replay just comes down to the presentation, I love how much care and effort has went into it and it's a really pleasant experience from the second you put the disc in.

Banjo-Kazooie was certainly easier thanks to the generous notes not being reset...Back on my day....
Although that's certainly not something missed.
Frustrating as hell replaying a level just for a few notes.

Perfect Dark, I far, far prefer the original.
I can't handle the controls, managed to beat Agent Mode, mostly just to get the rewards etc.

Playing Viva Pinata atm.
Very addictive!

Sorry to double post, but still playing heaps of games from this.

I have to say, I love how Rare include so many references to their previous games in nearly every game they have made in the the last 10 years.

Ghoulies, Pinata, Nuts and Bolts...references galore!
Alsoz had to enjoy the little note in the mystics house in Kameo.
Very cheeky!
Oh and all her alternative costumes!
A Rare treat indeed! :n64:

I got this when it came out and its been nice to replay some of the N64 classics, especially Jet Force Gemini. The controls haven't aged well though....

I believe they actually made a patch with a more "modern" control scheme in, so if you haven't tried since launch it may be worth loading it up again

Yeah, tried that, it's a slight improvement but it still feels awkward. :-/

A few of the N64 games feel like a bit of a chore, either because of controls or some other reason.
However, I must try and play through all of them to at least get the achievements and unlock more videos etc!

Banjo-Kazooie and Blast Corps have been the most enjoyable ones to replay so far.
Also, I've been thinking, and I always rated Banjo-Tooie but the more I think of it, the more I think its dam close to the best game on the console.

Flew under the radar due to its release time in the consoles life and people had a lot of Nostalgia for the original (which is also a fantastic game).

Huge game, challenging, massive draw distance, excellent graphics, the way the levels interacted between each other...just everything.

Sorry to double post, but just sharing some thoughts on Jet Force Gemini.

I decided to start playing this tonight to "give the controls a go".
(I've played all the way to final boss on N64, many hours, love the game)

I found the modern controls with inverted aim works out best.
Of course I'd rather be play on an N64 on a CRT, but need to play through to unlock rewards haha!

Anyway, I've been pleasantly suprised.
Full screen, slightly crisper graphics, hugely higher frame rate (so fast that sometimes the enemies seem to be in fast forward) and just an otherwise great experience.
I think I'm already far enough in that simply "testing the controls" will hopefully turn to full completion 😊

Spoiler: click to toggle

I just picked up a disc copy even though I don't own an XB1, nor had I any plans to get one. But I thought it would be foolish not to pick up a copy when it's dirt cheap, and I can always get an XB1 in the future when the price drops. Though it kinda makes me a little sad that none of the newer games could entice me to get an XB1 (or PS4).
