Decent watch that. Yeah we can say it time and time again and it never gets old Rare really did do wonders for the N64. I have them to thank for my favourite game of all time - Goldeneye 007.

Feels weird seeing footage of Dream after years of only having that one mysterious screenshot to look at. Also the side-on Banjo was interesting, definitely shows how much of a game changer Mario 64 was.

Nope this is completely new to my knowledge.

Sorta wish they'd release these in a playable form sometime, even if the builds are very limited it would be interesting to take a look at

I think the most interested thing of this video is that how dream became banjo kazooie.
This revolutionized the gameing industry and it was happening by "accident" amazing

Shows how mario 64 changed gaming.
It also shows how the N64 revolutionized gaming itself as a whole.

Does anyone know whether the likes of Dinosaur planet and twelve tails conker were actually ever running on N64 hardware or were they just running on development equipment?

Dinosaur planet was so close to release because I actually remember my friend had it pre-ordered from EB back in the day.

Rareware did wonders with the N64

Yes to both, there is plenty of footage out there of dinosaur planet iirc and I believe some twelve tales footage was released along with Rare Replay.

There were rumours of a beta cart of twelve tales but iirc the owner died and they never released information on its content

I am glad that Dream turned into Banjo (detestably my favorite game of all time) but I do kinda want to try out Dream. Both the N64 and SNES versions look like they'd be fun to play

Great video.

It was better for it to become Banjo, but it looked interesting nonetheless!
And now the Captain Blackeye references make more sense!
I loved how his portrait was in Mad Monster Mansion and his appearance in Banjo-Tooie!

I do love how many references Rare constantly put in their games!

...also, I never even knew about Sea of Thieves until I watched that.
Finally a new game for me to be excited about!

Rare Replay is definitely worth getting if you have an Xbox one. It has so many awesome classics and great documentaries, although unlocking some of the interesting info is really really really hard. :/
