Well I actually beat two games (both coincidentally being developed by Capcom), but only MM2 was beaten on a different console than last time, so it's getting listed. Well... what can I really ssy about Mega Man 2 that hasn't been said already. It's an NES classic for a good reason: it's an incredibly addicting side scrolling platformer that holds up even today. There is something I wanted to get off of my chest, though, and it has to do with the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. From time to time, I've heard that the AC is the absolute worst way to play these classic NES games. While that's true for Mega Man 8 (and maybe 7), I had the chance to compare AC's MM2 with the original NES cartridge and can honestly say that claims of input delay are just not true. In fact, had it not been for questionable button mapping (which is only a huge problem in the GameCube port due to lack of control customization), I'd give the edge to the AC version due to being able to cycle through weapons on the fly, a turbo shoot button and optional hints from allies. And so, whether it's on the NES, Wii Virtual Console, the Legacy Collection or even the Anniversary Collection, find a way to play this amazing classic today. Endure and survive... Posts: 6,726 Group: Admin Member #48 Joined: December 4, 2006	I enjoyed the game overall, and haven't spent the first minute on multiplayer. I have over 100 hours in the story mode. All main missions are done, but still have dozens of side missions/items to wrap up or find. I would give the game a solid 8.0 or 8.5 out of 10. It definitely had some challenging moments. I am a first and third person shooter veteran, and there were plenty of times I about wanted to pull my hair out. Some upper level enemies take a ridiculous amount of damage to kill, and in turn can drop you in one or two shots. It has RPG elements in the sense that you are constantly upgrading your weapons, armor, gear, clothes, base of operations, etc... Graphics and sound are good, controls are good enough. It has an interesting story/concept. Despite being similar to several types of games, I felt like it really has its' own unique identity.

Contra has been beaten! Unfortunately, beating this game with only three lives per continue is a pipe dream for me, so I broke out that famous Konami code to get me through this run. Good thing too as some of those later levels get ridiculous with it's difficulty. Still, I had fun through the whole ride and I recommend it full on.

Decent play through and holds up well both graphically and playability. Second time I have completed it (first time was back around 08-09) and actually I did the alternate ending scenario without thinking. Spoiler: click to toggle I.e this time Roman didn't die, Katie did. The first time I completed it Roman got killed I remember. I did enjoy killing Dimitri and Jimmy Pellegrino though. Not being that big of a fan of horror movies and therefore not knowing a lot of the tropes, I think I made quite a few bad choices but I also felt that the game was immensely unfair at times. I know they want people to replay and do things differently but I don't think I'll be doing that any time soon. Just didn't leave a very good taste in my mouth. Awesome game and the soundtrack should have won a grammy. NES hard (but generous save points, etc. made it doable if you put the time in). Highly, highly recommend. This is the third time I've beaten the game, but the first time I've beaten it in Difficult Mode! To be honest, though, the game isn't that much harder than Normal Mode. I mean sure the turret boss is still a pain and Wily was tougher this go around, but everything else wasn't too bad. Should have done this difficulty years ago. And, although this is about as obvious as telling you humans need oxygen to live, this game is fantastic! Easy recommendation here!

But, like Contra, I believe this is one of those ridiculously tough games that are worth playing especially since you no longer have to keep feeding a machine quarters to keep going. Just a completion from a month ago that I forgot to post here. Actually, "Nothing to see here" might imply that the game itself isn't worth checking out which couldn't be further from the truth. Outside of the gen 6 games (including the gen 3 remakes), HeartGold is my favorite game of the series. I would say this is an easy recommendation, but I can't in good faith say that with how ridiculous the prices for these usually go. If you can find it for cheap like I did, buy it immediately!

Burning through those Megadrive games now Edit Add Batman for the Megadrive to the list too. Not the best megadrive game I've played and pretty short but enjoyed it all the same.
