Has your internet connection affected your gaming habits? Does your line mean you can play online without hassle or are your speeds too low for stable online play? I moved house a few years ago and went from a relatively stable 16 mb/s line to a paltry and unstable 6 mb/s line. That move took me from usually comfortable online gaming to absolutely hopeless, not a chance of getting a decent online match. And that meant my gaming changed. In the early days of Xbox 360 my best friend and I played a lot of online together; Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, Crackdown, Gears of War, Halo 3, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Borderlands and Borderlands 2 all gave us hours of fun. Then, all of a sudden, I moved and it stopped being fun. Lag, inconsistent party chat, and often I'd just be bumped from games when my line speed fell. Online went from being good fun to being a hassle. The majority of my gaming is solo; I love single player adventures that completely immerse you in a way that I think is rare in any kind of multiplayer. However, I do still enjoy occasional multiplayer, especially co-op. But it's not really been an option for a long time now. In the next few days my line is being upgraded to fibre with a huge jump in speed and I'm looking forward to bring able to play online again. I've lots of games that I'm looking forward to; Destiny, Elder Scrolls Online, Titanfall, Star Wars Battlefront... Games that don't really work if your internet is crap. So yeah, its been a long time and I'm looking forward to online play again.

With the snow here in the East Coast, my internet has been kinda bad, so Splatoon is getting the cold shoulder. |

I've had a mixture of both over the years. Even went a period without Internet earlier this year which meant no online gaming for me. Curent connection is just a standard adsl connection. Had Fibre at the last house i was at and it was a dream. Could download, watch video on demand and play online all at the same time. It was heaven. With upgrades to Fibre in my area soon, I hope to be living the internet dream again once more soon. Until now downloading and watching netflix cannot be done at the same time. |

Enjoy your new found speed, alxbly! My internet is pathetic. We pay $78.44 every month for 5Mb. It's dumb. But we live in the boonies so our ISP knows you have no other choice. It's either this or satellite internet which would be useless for what we do. I remote into work when things break. That said, it's a pretty dang rock solid 5Mb haha. I just play Guild Wars 1/2 online mostly. So that's not super sensitive. Mrs. Kart plays a lot of the FPS Blacklight. She's pulling off headshots all the time, so it must suffice. |

last time I had bad internet connection was in 1996 with a 28.8bps modem. those were the time of bad speed. we've had high speed connection since January 28th 2000 (lol) and never had less than that since. |

I play online quite a lot previously on Xbox 360 and more recently on PS4. I never really come across problems but sometimes it the phone goes off it does cause some lag - which is bloody annoying. I only have standard Sky broadband but it does the job. |

I found myself moving to offline play, but that's because that's just where my interests are at the moment. I found probably the biggest change is digital, I'm playing alot more games through Steam now than I would have 5 years ago, I have 200Mb down in my current house, which while isn't the fastest out there (oh... how i'd wish for google fiber) allows me to download the newest games in close to 10 minutes or so, where as when I was mostly playing on console, it would take me a week or so to download something on Steam. |

I play online regularly on PS3 and PS4. I have moderate speed DSL, and it has always done surprisingly well

I play a lot of COD, Forza, and Madden online. I was having a very inconsistent 5-15 mbps and thought Comcast sucked because they told me I have up to 50 mbps. Then a few months ago I upgraded my router and now I'm consistently over 45 mbps and am very happy with my online gaming connection. |

Not a fan of online games. Used to play a bit of Red Alert 2 and maybe Unreal Tournament. Both are so much better in LAN anyway. Just a time waster that gets in the way of real games.
