The long awaited sequel has finally been released!

I very much enjoyed my first weekend with the game. Visually, I think it is absolutely gorgeous (thank you Platinum). The Arwing control scheme takes some getting used to, but not bad (and I see where Big N is going with it). I'm not a huge fan of some of the other vehicles, but I'm starting to appreciate there utility (like the ability to be nearly stationary).

The biggest surprise is that my daughter (7 years old) loves it. She actually beat the 4th world before I did :-8 .

Anyway, this is definitely more my speed than Twilight Princess, and can't wait to play through.

Who is playing SFZ? Thoughts?

Just finished my first playthrough yesterday and I loved almost every minute of it. The Walker was a bit of a chore to control at first, but I got the hang of it eventually. I'm not sure if this has become my favorite game in the series (I want to wait until that "new game" hype in me dies down to make that decision) but, if not, it's a shoo-in for second place.

I'm almost done with my first playthrough. I'd say I love almost everything about it. I agree with bdr, some of the vehicles take some getting used to but they do add another level of depth previously not there. I'm not the biggest fan of the landmaster, but then again, I never liked it even in SF64, so I can't judge there. The hover vehicle is ok, but a little slow for my taste, but I do like the extra robot feature.

The arwing and walker are cool, and I like that I can switch between them. This can become handy when you learn to use it as in space missions, instead of making multiple flybys to take down large ships, sometimes you can just land on them with the walker and shoot until it blows up!

Missions are fun a diverse, big bosses are back in all there glory but I wish they had more dialogue like in 64. The bosses don't really seem to talk unless its starwolf and his gang.

All in all, I'd give it 9/10. Its a pretty good attempt at SF64, better than Assault or Adventures. Just missing multiplayer or a well fleshed out co-op.

Anyone else try co-op yet? Thoughts?

Glad to hear such warm words about it. I'd been kind of on the fence worried I'd just wish I was playing with traditional controls the whole time. But I will add this one to the wishlist now.

For the most part, they were fine especially since you can turn full motion controls off, only using them for aiming (which I got the hang of quick). Like I said before, the Walker took some getting used to, but I did get used to it. Don't let the negative reviews scare you off. It's not a game that you will immediately get the hang of as soon as you pick up the game pad, but you should be fine after a minute or two. Then the fun really starts.

Making my first run through this one. Took me FOREVER to clear the three missile stage (didn't realize you could shoot the ship carrying the attack drones. Beat the ice planet spider boss. A few planets left.

Made it to the final boss (first time through) this weekend. Loving this game, especially all-range mode. The fact that you can do somersaults or loop around by either stick movements OR pressing X or B is really convenient in the heat of battle. There is few better gaming feelings than somersaulting then shredding a hoard of enemy fighters :yeah:
