I love cooking! There's something so satisfying about it. I love the little tune it plays with the sounds of pots and pans. Mrs. Kart bought me a guide, and of course I could just look up all the recipes. But where's the fun in that!?

I started BOTW and look forward to seeing its vast world. The real surprise is that my son is loving it. He was not into Mario Kart and Splatoon nearly as much as my daughter, but Zelda has grabbed him, and he's way farther along than I am. He was positively gleeful when he found his first sword yesterday and was upset when he lost it. I see from the above comments that he did nothing wrong other than use it :D .

I recently got the Wii U (from ebay, sealed) and instantly starting getting titles left and right due to the Switch's pending arrival.

And when I started playing Zelda: BOTW, I was blown away. Definitely my favorite Zelda by far.

Hooray and congrats. Seems the Wii U is getting a bump in popularity amongst our "retro" crowd. I (still) love mine ❤️

Man, I've been dying a lot in this game. Luckily there's not much of a penalty for dying. I'm casually trying to progress through the main story, but I spend a lot of time exploring.

Still not sure if I'm a fan of the weapon durability. I keep finding these cool amazing weapons, but I end up not using them because I don't want to destroy them, so I'm just sticking with the old trusty spiked clubs. I like the idea that the weapons are expendable. I just with they were good for say, 200 hits, instead of 20.

I am enjoying watching Mrs. Kart play. She's almost caught up to where I am in the story, but she's been to so many places I haven't visited yet and visa versa. Cool to see how you can have such different experiences playing the same game.

And this game is just beautiful to look at. I really like the screenshot button on the left joycon. Easy to super quickly just snap a photo.

I spotted that split mountain in the distance and thought, wow, I cannot wait to go there . . . looks like you are just about there!

I'm still tooling about the great plateau. I love being all stealth and using the Soldier's Bow to pick off bokoblins. Great how you can pick up your arrows when you're done. I will be sad if/when it gets the red glow of death. And after being killed a half dozen times by it, I finally got the spiked club. That packs quite the punch!

Seems like the Wii U version is still really expensive at the moment and sold out in a lot of places. I was going to buy it this weekend but I dont want to pay £50.00 for it :(

Guess i'll just wait a little longer.

@Buddy: That is amazing...Amazon US is sold out too (all third party sales with markup). Seems that the Switch was all it took for the Wii U to become popular. :D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is dying a lot. I also wish the weapons were a bit more durable.

Im sure everyone who is playing had many deaths too, still exploring the world im not even found that many shrines only around 30 shrines or so. I don't even bother about weapons breaking since I have more inventory space to hold alot more weapons.

Anyone know if they ended up putting Robbin Williams in as an NPC? That would be great if they did

The worst part about this game is how hours of your life simply dissolve away. Haha. Still having a blast. Right now I've beat two of the Divine Beats, and got the Master Sword.

My greatest motivation to actually beat this game is that I want to watch the Speedrun of it, but right now it'd be spoiler packed for me.

Otherwise I could just wander and explore the world for hours. Still haven't even unlocked all of the world map!

Don't know why I haven't been on here talking about it, but I got the Switch day one and have been playing Zelda since then. I haven't had much time because of school and stuff but I'm over 40 hours in and this game is amazing! So much fun exploring, the dungeons are good, the mechanics are good (climbing, cooking, fighting, etc.)! Really gives me an OoT vibe and makes me wanna revisit it after I finish this one!

@Xephyrian: Glad to hear you are enjoying BoTW and your Switch!

@kartmaster: i am totally baffled as to how it is possible to speed run through the game, so i am a bit curious about that myself. What a completely different gaming experience that must be.

I've taken somewhere around 400 screenshots in this game.

I love how easy it is to do, will have to go through them at some point.

Like a lot of things I like that have been made lately, everything I wanted and so much more is a severe understatement.

I pledge to keep things spoiler free for everyone's pleasure.
It's why I've been away from most internet based things for the past 6 weeks...just in case!

You guys are leaving me in the dust, lol. I've been shrine and tower hunting mostly. Still no dungeons or divine beasts. But I do so love spending time at the beach!

I have already beaten Ganon 6 times, got all the shrines, and somewhere around 350 koroks... I would call it a good game.

Take your time dude, I certainly am. 😊

So enjoyable to explore and just...be in that world.
Sometimes just listening to the music or the ambient sounds can be quite relaxing.

And yes, the beach!
I love it too, I was drawn too it, I suppose it's a natural thing for plenty of humans.

Yeah, definitely take your time. You can never come back and play it again for the first time!

I think this is now for sure my favorite Zelda game, and has shot up into my top 5 games of all time. A real masterpiece!

It's way too early to call, but I was calling it the best game of this millennium.

Goldeneye and maybe a few others beat it out for "all time" just for me.
As brilliant as it is. I don't know if it will have the same effect in 20 years time like Goldeneye still does for me.

That and every time they make a Zelda game it is mind blowingly good so we will probably be talking about the next few Zelda games in 20 years time.

Having said that, this game is something else.
I think Nintendo is back in a very big way because of this game, and I can feel Mario will be the same way too.
I feel so much pleasure from playing the game myself and I want more pleasure from introducing/experiencing this game with others.
Sometimes that is even more pleasurable than your own play through if they get heaps out of it. 😍

I've been playing this game for about a week now and i'm loving it. How many have it on the Wii U, I find the frame rate really dips in places which is a shame.

@ Buddy: I live the fact you have it on the Wii U because the Wii U's diminutive library is even more incredible with BotW. Glad to here you are enjoying in.

I just beat the Three Giant brothers yesterday. Still no divine beasts though.

I thought it would be worth getting on the Wii U even though I plan on picking up a switch. May become sort after like Twilight princess on the gamecube. Plus I'm in no rush to get a switch with the lack of games for the system (at the moment).
