Old arcade cabinets and where to find them

Arcades are pretty samey affairs these days I find. 2p slot machines, them dodgy claw grab machines, one armed bandits and maybe you'll find Time Crisis 5 or a knackered version Big Game Hunter at the back somewhere.

Anyway, the purpose of this topic is to let everyone know of any arcades you find with classic/retro machines in. For the sake of simplicity, lets say pre-2000?

One of the reasons I bring this up is I'm off on holiday to Skegness (East coast of England) with the misses at the weekend and one of my favourite things to do is play Sega Rally 1995 near the caravan park where her mam and dad stay. The name escapes me but I will provide details up arriving and spending my hard earned shrapnel.

Also, if you love mid-90s Sega racing games and are around the Lincolnshire coast then head to Fantasy Island near Ingoldmells. Last time I was there (last summer) they had a 4 seater Daytona USA set up. Awesome stuff! :toad:

I can't really say much because I've wasted a lot of money in them :cussfit: claw machines lol.

Finding a Street Fighter 2 machine is top of my list. It seems that old racing cabinets tend to be the most common out of retro machines. I haven't seen a fight game for years sadly. If I ever have the opportunity to go to Brighton I shall keep an eye out. Mortal Kombat 2 and Virtua Fighter 2 are also on my list. Something about the second time around it seems eh?

Can't say I'd fare very well. I usually get as far as Sagat on the Super Famicom version before taking a whipping. That wouldn't be so bad if it was a difficulty setting of note but i think that's on easy... Sagat is a rotten git...

I too would like to know where all these great old machines have gone. There used to be a handful of really great cabinets at every pizza joint and taco shop. I can't imagine these were all just scrapped, but maybe so.

I haven't seen a good coin-op in a loooong, looong time.

Saving up to build a MAME cabinet so at least I can have my fix at home. Expensive to do it right though!
