BattleTanx: Global Assault won a highly contested vote off. I played the original BattleTanx, and enjoyed it.
I felt Global Assault was a huge improvement. The multiplayer was fun! I still remember the music from the game. :yeah:

Gutted that Toy Story missed out again. Never played BattleTanx but it looks quite good. I just watched Glenn Plant's review. I can see why people have selected the game for their winner this month.

BattleTanx Global Assault is still my favorite multiplayer game on the N64, even higher than Goldeneye or mariokart, and probably higher than even the original Smash Bros. It might not be the most refined game, and the solo mode is fun but by no means the best story or anything, but the multiplayer is just so much fun and there is such a large variety of tanks, weapons, and maps that it holds my interest even to this day.

Supposedly the Battletanx games, especially Global Assault, are really good. A co-op campaign and multiplayer sure sound fun. For some reason though the games are really hard to find in my area. Thankfully they aren't really expensive yet either so hopefully I run across them soon because I'm afraid they'll go up in price based on how uncommon they seem. Same with Fighters Destiny.

It is weird how certain games are more scarce in certain areas. I hadn't seen a copy of Global Assault out and about the last couple years when I went looking.

Ah, I got this for my birthday the year it came out! Great fun, but the level design hasn't really held up. The tanks are kind of imbalanced too (who would ever choose the Hovertank or Mototank???)

Hover tank is usually bad unless you have a friend who just places mines everywhere (cuz the hover tank just goes over them) and while the mototank really isn't very good it is still SO MUCH FUN to zip around in that speedy little tank annoying people like a fly :sonic:
