Overall, Punch-Out Wii is a great update to the original. Featuring classic characters and one new one, the style of pattern memorization has not changed. The graphics look nice and colourful, the controls are easy to get used to, and can be the classic controls using the Wii remote like a new controller or using the balance board. Overall it gets a 9\10. |

I agree that Punch Out Wii is an excellent game.I beat the original earlier this year. I should try and beat the Wii version soon, I hear it's much harder than any other Punch Out games which is crazy to think. I don't think I could handle using the balance board though. I'd probably break my ankle somehow and have to tell the doctor I did it playing Wii.

Moved this to the Other Games section. Punch-Out Wii is still on my wishlist. It's a Nintendo Selects now, so I'm not sure what I've been waiting for. Was listening to a Retronauts podcast on the topic of Punch-Out, and the original arcade creators in the 80's wanted players to actually swing punches, so I guess the Wii version is the ultimate realization of that vision! |

It is a worthy successor to the NES classic and the criminally underrated SNES sequel. I don't think I played it with motion controls, and it gets very challenging at the end (Super Macho Man is a beast). I did not do the title defense rounds either, where your opponent's major flaws are taken away (i.e., headgear on Glass Joe, man hole cover on King Hippo's stomach) . . . someday . . . . It had a bit of a renascence in my house this year as my 8-year olds love it a played it for about a month straight. The two-player mode is pretty zany; if you land enough punches, your Little Mac becomes HUGE and you just wail on your opponent. Fun in small doses. |

Those who like Punch-Out on the Wii may also want to DL the WiiWare title Rage of the Gladiator.
