SpongeBob: Battle of Bikini Bottom; SpongeBob games used to be awesome

Overall SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle of Bikini bottom is a great if flawed 3D Platformer. Its controls are tight and responsive, the world's are taken straight out of the show, and the plot is simplistic but it works. Basically Plankton makes a robot army but forgets to program them to obey him by not pressing the obey button. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy have to travel multiple levels grabbing collectibles along the way. If you played ANY 3D Platformer like this, it will seem cliché. But it works. But, it has problems, like the fact that they don't use Mr.Krabs original voice actor. And I HATE the Kelp Forest level. It's almost too dark to see ANYTHING. That and some problems with glitches keep it as a 8\10. I still love it though. :bowser:

I actually just mentioned this game a few days ago as being the best licensed 3-d platformer I have ever played. I haven't played in years but I remember playing the kelp forest for 5 minutes then giving up and never collecting a single gold spatula. Terrible, terrible world for a game that generally has some okay worlds. My favorite part of this game was that they made an entire world out of Mario 64 style slide levels which was fun. It's not perfect, The controls for the ball powerup are way to floaty and Rock Bottom and Downtown Bikini Bottom I remember being really bland worlds but everything else was really solid. I also remember the soundtrack being ridiculously blood pumping at the end for no good reason. I'm surprised too because Heavy Iron isn't exactly known for quality, the only other game they made with a cult following was Scooby Doo nignt of 100 frights

@D.J Cat Don't get the ps2 version if you can avoid it because it has lag that the other 2 versions don't have. Also don't let me or anyone else overhype it for you. The game has lots of people who defend it to the death like it's Mario or Banjo tier but it is still got marks of usual licensed game quality. Still, it's a good time for any 3D platformer fan, especially if you don't think Spongebob and company are annoying pricks like I do ;)

So Wildfire and D.J Cat, I don't know if either of you like to watch speedruns or not but I've been getting a yearning to go back and play this game again. So I started looking up videos for it and I found out this game got a live speedrun during this years Agdq. All I have to say is dear lord its been a long time since my heart raced watching someone speedrun a game. I had no idea the game had such a hardcore commnity around it.

It's an hour and 2 minutes long but if you are strapped for time, skip to the forty minute mark of the run because it gets freaking insane at that point. The last 20 minutes are definatly worth watching. It looks amazingly fun as a speedrun but I wouldn't want to dedicate the time it takes to reach this mans skill level. Even if I did my hands aren't steady enough to do the things this guy does
