Another one down, definitely the worst thing I've finished this year. It's pretty unlikely I'm going to bother with Destiny 2 at this point, unless they show some serious improvement in the story department.

My last 2 games for January are 2 N64 Bowling games I did for the beat em all, Brunswick Pro Circut Bowling and Super Bowling. It saddens me that Super Bowling is only known for being rare and expensive because it's actually a fun game, my favorite of the 3 Nintendo 64 Bowling games in fact.

I also updated my RE7 status to 100% since, through a joint effort with my cousin, we unlocked all the achievements in the game which required us to play the game 4 times. During that time we had to beat it in under four hours ( we got something like 2 hours 25 minutes, ridiculously easy ) and I realized that this game only has an hour and a half of good content in the middle of the game, but the beginning and ending sections bog it down. I desperately hope the dlc (which I didn't have to pay for ^_^ ) has more of the good stuff

January - 22

N64 - Majora's Mask, Golden Nugget,Transformers Beast Wars, Worms Armageddon, Sin&Punishment (easy), Wonder Project J2 100%, Mario Kart 64 50cc, Mk: Mythologies, Rakuga Kids, Powerpuff Grills, Mace The Dark Age, Nuclear Strike, Rayman 2, Super Bowling, Brunswick Pro Circut Bowling

Xbox 360
- NEW Resident Evil: Revelations

Resident Evil: Revelations has been beaten! Well that was... disappointing. I mean I did sort of like it when the game played how it was advertised (a return to RE's survival horror roots), but I didn't like how Capcom kept sneaking in levels where you just run around mowing down monsters while armed to the teeth a la RE5 & 6. And even those "survival horror" sections had ammo galore just out in the open. Not to mention the story got kind of lame near the end (how did some of these people survive being blown up?). Not the worst game in the series I've played but you can do better.

3 new games for the hardest month to spell, February. 2 exclusive N64 puzzle games with Tetrisphere and Lode Runner 3-D and the PS4 audio visual experience Azul. I've wrote about them both in other places on the board but in essence, I'll take the the easier reaction speed based puzzlers like Tetrisphere over the brain wracking and often frustrating gameplay of games like Lode Runner any day. Matching colors and shapes is fun!

Also I had the same friend who made me play Journey last year make me play Azul this year. I liked Journey a bit more, probably because I played it first and Azul is basically the same sequence 4 times in a row and that's it. Not my kinda thing but clearly a nice quick thing for casual gamers and burnt out gamers to relax to... all ruined by the terrible Right Trigger in the PS4 controller that every good PS4 games uses. Seriously Rocket League and Last Guardian both use it. To be fair I didn't check the control options but it still hurts my finger having to push hard just to make sure it doesn't drop my inputs.

After about 60 hours I have completed Final Fantasy XV. I'm not even sure what to say about it. It was amazing and it was disappointing and it was fun and it was, at times, a downright mess. In the end, though, I'm glad it exists and it lays down a great foundation for future Final Fantasy installments.

More n64 games beaten for various websites and to add to my database. Blast Corps, Waialae Country Club True Golf Classics, PGA European Tour AKA the Jet Force Gemini of Golf games, and Earthworm Jim 3-d are all new. My plan to play more games on other systems isn't going so great thus far, though I have I have been playing lots of You Don't Know Jack and Resogun. That and my Cousin got Resident Evils 4,5, and 6 on Xbox and I've been coaching him through those.

Hooray, my first beaten of the year:

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (WiiU). Main Mode 100%

I thoroughly and immensely enjoyed this game. Great 2D platformer is a gorgeous presentation. Lots to collect, but plenty of clues as to what to do next...keeps up the pace. Less hard but more fun than Tropical Freeze. Highly recommend.

Super Mario Run - 100%*

*Tour Mode beaten; All Coins collected;kingdom fully unlocked; all items unlocked and acquired; Level 20 Kingdom; 9999+ toads acquired in Rally Mode; all Gold Mushroom stamps acquired and Mega Golden Mushroom acquired; all My Nintendo token items acquired.

If there has ever been a game more unfairly and ERRONEOUSLY reviewed than Super Mario Run, I'd like to know. This game is sublime. It cannot be properly beaten in 1-2 hours or 10-20 hours. Try 50-100 hours to truly beat this game; and most of it is a park-core delight. You'll have Mario (or the superior Luigi) flipping around like a speed run pro once you get the hang of it. So worth $10.

Another game knocked out. I cannot express just how much I enjoyed Sniper Elite 4 and it's open worldish level design. Seems quite inspired by the recent Hitman release but then I haven't played Sniper Elite 3 so maybe it was just a continuation from that one. Anyway, it was a blast to play.

I started back up with Full Blast, an eShop shmup. This is in no way to be confused with EPIC shmups like Recca or Axelay, or even Star Soldier 64, but it is still a fun romp. The difficulty ramps up around level 7 and then the poor (as in scant and arbitrary) weapons upgrade system eats away at the fun. Eager to see if Ghost Blade HD (due out 2/28) is any better.

Literally just a few minutes ago, I finished my very first WiiU game :w00t: and... kind of embarrassingly, my first game on a Nintendo platform in at least a few years. :-8
The puzzle-y platform-y game was exactly the kind of game I was in the mood for, and it satiated quite well. :yeah: Enjoyed the game thoroughly, although that final bonus level was TOUGH!!! I pushed through and nabbed the 100% - well, technically, 100% of everything obtainable without the Toad amiibo.

This was played entirely on the gamepad, which seems like it could very well be my preferred method of playing WiiU games, despite being somewhat uncomfortable for me to hold. :-/

And of course, it wasn't until I basically finished the entire game before I realized I could adjust the volume of the gamepad.

games/DLC finished this year:
01/17 - Eagle Flight (100%)
01/27 - Lollipop Chainsaw (100%)
02/27 - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (100%)
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Completed 007 TWINE today on N64 so keeping within my minimum of 1 N64 game per month target. Just. Only completed on secret agent mind. Quite often an overlooked game it is actually pretty good. It improved on Goldeneye in many ways, the use of vocals, FMV and the greater library of gadgets etc. But it just doesn't feel as smooth as Goldeneye. For once as well, it is a version that is actually better than the PS1 port which cannot be said for many of the games available to both.

Good fun all around and highly recommended if not completed before.

Also finished Rayman 3D during my lunch at work. I have this on the N64 but I've never got around to playing it. It was pretty enjoyable but didnt take too long to beat. May look into getting Rayman 3 now :yeah:

Ghost Blade is pretty insane even in easy mode. Bullets everywhere. But there are some friendly features I love here, including weapon retention, smart bombs acting as hit bars (in easy), and having a spread gun and a focused gun to use alternatively. Will probably try on normal at some point.

GOW4 was great, I really enjoyed it and it looked really nice as well. Story sets things up nicely for more. THPS 3 completed with one skater but all goals etc, not sure I've ever played 3 before or if I have I dont remmeber it. Proper old THPS is much better than the new rubbish.

Now i'm trying to convince myself to finish more of the games I've been buying of late before picking up Zelda.............. :link:
