Destruction Derby 64 - N64 (January 4, 2017)
Watch Dogs - PS4 (January 10, 2017)
Final Fantasy XV - PS4 (February 15, 2017)
Sniper Elite 4 - PS4 (February 22, 2017)
Resident Evil 7 - PS4 (March 8, 2017)
Horizon: Zero Dawn - PS4 (April 6, 2017)
Early this AM I finished up Mass Effect: Andromeda. I gotta say it was the best darn Star Trek game I have ever played. And that's not a bad thing at all. But for real, I am happy to have finally dipped into the Mass Effect series and I seriously need to visit the original trilogy soon.

Two completions this time with a new list started for 2017! Yes both Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers have been beaten! Of all the Sonic games in the series to try and knock Sonic 2 (AKA my favorite game of all time), Sonic 3 & Knuckles comes the closest. I played these games separated as a teen and didn't like how their respective difficulties always felt off but finding out they were supposed to be the same game years later and finally getting to experience it for myself has made all the difference. A must own for Genesis owners everywhere but do yourself a favor and don't play them separate like I did back then. These two games were literally meant for each other.

Unfortunately, there will be no recommending The Crystal Bearers this day. I wanted to like it because just about everything works for the game: the story, the music, the minigames, ect. but the combat for the game is just downright boring with how shallow and dragged out fights can feel. By a certain point, I was just skipping battles any chance I got and it basically became a game of me running from city to city just to get another cutscene and reach the end credits ASAP. If you're interested, do yourself a favor and just watch the story play out via someone's online Let's Play or something. It's the best thing the game has going for it. :nope:

Next game down. This time a GBA title. I'll bundle all gameboy games in this list below. Fairly short game this time with only 3 hours or so of gameplay, yet it is entertaining, and a somewhat forgotten Banjo game; Banjo Pilot. It's basicly Diddy Kong Racing with only the planes, with Banjo characters, toned down to SNES graphics on the go. Not a whole lot to go wrong I'd say.

Gameboy (+GBC & GBA)
Banjo Pilot (may 10th)

Nintendo DS
Pokemon HeartGold (jan 11th)

Nintendo 3DS
MarioKart 7 (feb 14th)
Hyrule Warriors Legends (mar 14th)

Wii U
Pikmin 3 (mar 30th)
Need for Speed: Most Wanted U (apr 21st)

@EnvyFox I have recently completed Sonic 3 & Knuckles and I think its my new favorite Sonic game. It just felt like all the great parts of 2 just made better. The save function really helps too.

I think Mario Kart is a lot funner at 200cc because the brake is essential but every local tournament has to conform for the 150cc crowd. I still rock Shy Guy no matter how many heavies try to sumo me

@Pimpin: wow, that was quick! The heavies really had an advantage in MK8, but with more items used more frequently, I've been looking for a lighter character (and Baby Mario is not cutting it!). I'll have to try a colorful Yoshi...it would be cool to see him reclaim the MK throne!

I finally got you, Red Yoshi, some 500 red toads and 50,000 coins later. Acquired all SMR Version 2.0.0 had to offer, including all cannons. Version 2.1.0 looks a bit too intense for me (50,000 toads?!?), but who knows . . . I keep picking SMR up every now and again because it is pretty darn fun for a mobile game.

NBA Playgrounds has been a hoot. Yes, we are still waiting for a major update with online play, but the main single player mode is there and it is quite a challenge. But my boy Danny Ainge and Patrick Ewing finally took down Shaq and Iverson to win the final tournament, and did so in convincing fashion.

The quintessential Rock Band/Guitar Hero experience for me is singing Twist & Shout like I was Ferris Bueller! Great iteration of this series.

I haven't been playing much this year due to moving and other business,
but as of today (June 13th) I can finally say that I've finished:

Mother 3 - GBA

I started more than 10 years ago with the original Japanese version that I've actually bought, but due to my lack of Japanese at the time, got stuck in the 2nd or 3rd chapter and lost interest due to lack of an English guide back then. Over the years I kept picking it up and put it down using the Fan translation, restarting every time due to being lost in the story probably 3-4 times (a common thing I have with RPGs).
In any case, this time I've persevered and finally got the end-credits rolling.

I must say, I'm quite satisfied. Not as wacky as it's predecessor, but it's got a great story to make up for it.
Definitely recommended. It's got some :n64: history to it as well.

This one took a little longer than expected, but I really wanted to complete it. Never completed Pokemon Blue as a child, probably because I got lost around 6th or 7th gym, but now, with some guidebook help, I did it! Beat the Elite Four in 24 hours and 30 minutes with a level 70 Charizard and level 58 Weepinbell (and some filler). I actually became a little emotional seeing the final credits. That's a first for sure.

Pokemon Pearl has been beaten! I had beaten Diamond about a decade ago so the adventure wasn't new for me or my friend but playing through this one together was still a whole heap of fun since we put our ideas together to blaze through the game's challenges.

Another easy recommendation from me. I know not a lot of people look fondly at the gen 4 games (save for the gen 2 remakes) but I never got it. I was able to have fun with the game no problem. Look out for my Pokemon Platinum completion sometime in 2027.

First time I have ever played Bulletstorm and overall it was a good game, a bit repetitive but not bad. I liked the whip idea and some of the lines of dialogue made me laugh, full of bugs though including getting stuck on environment and disappearing enemies. It even crashed and forced me to restart my xbox which I havent seen in a game for years.
