Tetrisphere; February Game of the Month

I remember really liking Tetrisphere. I was actually never a big Tetris fan, I respect what an important game it was for the industry but once you learn how to clear four rows at once you're not really going to pull off anything more advanced. I prefer the crazier and more elaborate combos you can pull off in games like Puyo Puyo. So, while it seems to be common for people to criticize Tetrisphere for not being Tetris, I honestly actually enjoy it more, because the potential for combos is ridiculous and really satisfying. The game's just satisfying in general, actually. Slowly chipping away at the sphere clearing things away until you crack into the center feels good. And, as everyone seems to agree, the soundtrack IS great. Almost as great as the soundtrack itself is the names of the tracks. "Flim Flam", "Spooky Baby", "Skank Bowl Fight", they're all ridiculous.

I don't currently own the game and I don't know if I'll be able to get another copy in time to participate, but I hope everyone else who's interested has fun with it!
