So, Nintendo is apparently making a new SNES-Mini. Presuming it has 30 games like the NES-Mini, what games should be included?

Spoiler: click to toggle

Favorite Game: Super Mario 64

I like your list but you're missing.

Mortal Kombat II

Star Fox 2

Super Castlevania IV

Castlevania: Dracula X

And my personal favorite - Weaponlord.

The games I would want are so much different than what Nintendo will choose. They'll choose Yoshi's Cookie just to add a puzzle game in there even though it takes up a slot that another game deserves.

Konami is just gonna do Super Castlevania IV and Contra because they are recognizable but I'd love to see the original Legend of the Mystical Ninja get some modern day love.

Megaman 7 should maybe be in there instead of X3 or perhaps even X2. I think X2 is better, but Having 2 X games gives less variety to the package as a whole.

If possible, the original Snes Harvest Moon, Final Fight 2, and Joe and Mac would be cool extras as well.

With the Snes mini it would honestly be cool if they did 50 games instead of 30. It just has so many immediate classics that people would still love today.

I have a feeling that with much regret the Donkey Kong franchise would be excluded from the SNES mini because of a dispute with Rare (now under the Microsoft umbrella). Just like they were pulled from the Wii virtual console, it is with deep regret that these amazing games will probably be excluded. They would in the best case scenario have to surrender some profits to allow for this and that simply would not be the Nintendo plan.

I would like to see all Mario games including Kart, Street Fighter 2 (Turbo), Bomberman, Zelda A Link to the Past etc. F Zero should be as well!

Would nice if they include Secret O Mana and James Pond or something funky.

Well Donkey Kong 64 was on the Wii-U virtual console recently so it may be a possibility. But think of the poor n64 mini. Almost all Rare games, especially Goldeneye, wouldn't be included. So sad as they made more classics than any other developer.

I do think at least Super Bomberman 2 could be included since it was the last one released in America, though most people prefer the Japanese exclusive Bomberman 4 and 5.

I'm with Shellshocker in that I hope they expand the game count to 50. Either way, I am getting one of these, without a doubt. :dk:

Something's up with the way Nintendo just dropped the NES mini like a hot potato but now are apparently coming out with something SNES related. I have to wonder if Nintendo saw how successful the NES mini was but wanted to refine it before it tried something like this again (i.e. not having tiny cords on their controllers, not tying them to the Wii remote connector, etc.)

We know very little about this supposed SNES mini, but I'd love to see a mini retro combo system with NES, SNES, and even a couple N64 games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart 64. Nintendo's not stupid. They know what they're doing and they know nostalgia sells. If they can give us something even better than the NES mini then I believe people would be quicker to forgive them for discontinuing it.

Considering that the first one was on the NES mini, and that 4 and 6 are some of the best games on the SNES, there's almost certainly gonna be one on there.

What I liked best about the NES Classic Edition is that its controllers are also compatible with the Wii-mote. I guess the SNES Classic Edition's controllers will follow suite which makes me very happy since I never got one of the Club Nintendo ones.

I wonder if Ken Griffey Jr. Presents MLB would be on the SNES Mini (using the future conditional tense b/c I'm not sold the SNES Mini is happening). Ken Griffey Jr. was immensely popular, and we saw Tecmo Bowl get a slot on the NES Mini. There are licensing issues with MLB and Ken Griffey, but real player names were not used. (Tecmo used fake teams but real player names . . . on the NES Mini they had fake teams and fake player names).

See why they call me the "Latter-day Nostradamus"? ;) Yes, Star Fox 2 is finally going to get an official release by way of the SNES Classic Edition. I missed the boat with Mortal Kombat II, Dracula X and Weaponlord, though. >_<

The lineup of games on the SNES mini is VERY good and those controllers look quite sexy indeed. Pre-order ASAP because these things are gonna go fast. Unless Nintendo can manufacture 10 million of them they're sure to become rare collector's items if for no other reason than the inclusion of Star Fox 2 on the system.

A Super Nintendo that can easily be connected to a modern HDTV! No wonder the SNES mini is causing such a sensation.

To be honest, the NES mini didn't excite me very much. The SNES mini, on the other hand, actually has me VERY excited. The lineup of games on the NA version seems just about ideal. Sure, there are plenty of titles that could have been added but the ones that are included represent the perfect introduction to the systems library.

I already own all the games that will appear on the SNES mini but if I can get one for MSRP I'll probably pull the trigger. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that Nintendo can manufacture enough to meet demand.

Ahh ha! I'd wondered how the conrollers connected.

I think I'm most excited for the games because there's a few on there that are kinda pricey these days and this is a great opportunity to get them and still be able to play them with a legit SNES controller. I'm a bit of a purist but, but I'm also a cheap :cussfit:!

I was curious about that myself. Now it's confirmed that the SNES Classic's controllers will use the same connector as the NES Classic's did. That's wonderful news because it means that the SNES mini's pads will also be compatible with the Wii-mote. I'd really love to use an official Super Nintendo controller with my SNES era Virtual Console games on my Wii. Now we just gotta hope that Nintendo sells those pads separately and also that they manufacture enough to meet demand.

Anybody get a pre-order on one of these things?
Not me. Tried on the day and my order crashed on checkout.

Just gave up after that. I never did get a NES Mini on the end because I don't want it that bad to pay way over the retail value. I do hope the supply issue is different this time around but it could well be the same story. Again, not the end of the world for me if I didn't get one at retail price...

While I think these systems are "adorable", I am really not interested. Even if they were available, I've got a retro collection, so if I really want to play those games, I (mostly) can. The whole scarcity kicks my indifference up a notch.

I am curious to see if an N64 system comes and what they use for "new" controllers. That ought to be interesting for sure.
