Had a random urge to play some RR64 today. Got on a spree and kept racing till I beat it. Those later stages get super hard and I spent most of my time running into walls. Drifting is a little weird until you get used to it.

The Forest on PC is a great survival horror open world. Played a lot of it when it was in it's early stages of beta and got back into it recently, crazy fun. you can build based to try and survive these weird human creatures that come out at night or explore the caves and hope you don't die. I think the full version of the game is about to come out at the end of this month and I would highly recommend it!

Completed RE4 the other day, 2nd time playing through it in total. Its a great game and I enjoyed it a lot but I wouldn't say its the best RE game by far. In my opinion RE2 is the best but RE7 maybe very close to that. Something I never understand is why people say its a great looking game, I think its really ugly even the HD versions.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has been beaten! After beating American Sk8land on the DS as a teenager and watching the cutscenes for this game online for years, it feels awesome to finally play through it myself. This was the last game that controlled like the classic Tony Hawk games (outside of Downhill Jam) before they revamped everything with Project 8. Personally, I prefer this style. Over the top tricks and, starting with Underground, ridiculous missions inside a crazy story mode. Yes please. Highly recommended.

"Completed" Shadow of War on the xbox one last night, well up to the end of Act III. I cant be bothered with the tacked on grinding of Act IV so calling it finished there. Really enjoyable game but constant grinding for a 2 minute proper ending isnt my idea of fun really.

Edit
Completed streets of rage on the MD last night, on easy though as I suck at old games now. Kept getting further and further but died on the last boss. Leveled skipped to the last level and then beat it, cheating I know but however :) Also finally finished Abes Odyssey on the PS Vita, really good game but dont get it on the vita, so many bugs that made the console crash and require a hard reset. Rubbish

Yakuza has been beaten! I can't believe this is what I've been missing this whole time. Sure it has a few problems (that I hear it's remake fixed up quite nicely) but even the 2006 original was an absolute blast to play (mostly) from start to finish from story to gameplay. I just wish the sequel wasn't so expensive for a complete copy online. These games can really hold their value. :eh:

GoldenEye 007

Decided to throw it in the console this afternoon, and got through the Jungle level where I'd been stuck on the first try. Had to get some tips to get through Control, then beat Alec in Cradle only to get shot off the antenna...after killing him. So the game marked it as 'completed' without giving me the final cutscene. Had to replay the mission a few more times to beat it properly, but finally did it.

Another 2 ticked off the list, Streets of Rage 2 which is one of my favorite Megadrive games. Probably completed this more than any other game on that console but usually in Co Op, easier than the first I found but still not a walk in the park. Well apart from the stage in the park X_D

Also finished Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, I did enjoy this one and it looked great but i still think pirates curse is my favorite one.

Edit
Tony Hawk Pro Skater Underground story mode finished, EVER AGAIN!!! since replaying these games this has been the worst one I have played. Who thought driving cars would be a good idea in a skating game. Absolutely rubbish.

Streets of Rage 2 has been beaten! I've beaten the game once before but that was years ago with my younger brother playing with me and I'm pretty sure we had the lives count set to max. This was my first successful solo run without touching anything in the options menu. As for the game itself, what can I possibly say that others haven't said before me? It's my favorite beat 'em up for the Genesis (of the three or four I own) and a must own for anyone even faintly interested in the genre or system. :yeah:

Finished RE5, gets a lot of hate but I think its a pretty decent game overall. Not the best RE game but still quite enjoyable if you go into it not expecting to be made jump :)

Edit
Finished Agents of Mayhem last night, pretty good game overall buy by the end I was very happy for it to have finished. It got repetitive quickly but with a few changes could be a great series of games. Visually its amazing and the cartoon cut scene are something from a Saturday morning. I love cell shaded games so in the ingame graphics looked good to me too and getting to play as multiple agents was good. It did remind me a lot of crackdown which is never a bad thing.

Edit
Now finished 007 Legends on the 360, thank god it was short because its rubbish. Played through the remake of goldeneye on the 360 last year and it was pretty goods so I thought this would be similar but I hated it. The fist fighting sections were a joke and the forced stealth parts were pretty bad too. Best mission was Moonraker (apart from the stealth bits).

Monster Hunter World (Reached HR100) - 1st April

3DS
Puzzles & Dragons: Mario Edition (Beat the 8 Main Levels and up to 2*) - 26th April

Switch
Super Mario Odyssey - 2nd May
Mario Kart 8 (Beat 200CC) - 1st June
Pokemon Quest (Beat the first Mewtwo battle) - 6th June

Pokemon Quest was surprisingly fun! I enjoyed it more than the past few generations of the main title Pokemon games (I've been playing Pokemon since the originals in the 90s so I'm probably just burned out from them, this was a refreshing change). Will probably be beating Digimon Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory on the Vita next!

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron has been beaten and I do believe I gained an incredible N64 memory in the process. It was the Battle of Calamari and I only had two enemy ships left to destroy to beat the game but my shield was completely down and I was on my last life. Eventually, I collide with one of the ships which destroys it but it also means my ship is now going down in flames. Before my ship can crash, though, one of my squad members actually takes down the other ship and WINS THE GAME FOR ME! No joke! I don't think I can begin the describe how confused I was to hear Wedge talk about how we saved another planet from the Empire but, once it all registered, I threw up both of my fists in the air and woo'd. Yes. I woo'd.

While I do think Rogue Squadron II on GameCube is the better game due to things like being able to command your squad mates, Rogue Squadron is an excellent game for the N64 and quite possibly my favorite Star Wars game on the system, too (haven't gotten my hands on Battle for Naboo yet). It's a cheap game to buy online and it's worth every single penny.

UPDATE (6/10/2018): Pilotwings has been beaten and has become a new favorite of mine for the Super Nintendo! I just bought this one Friday afternoon and spent my Saturday morning and evening (and a few minutes of my Sunday) playing through this one and it was worth every second of it. The missions have a perfect difficulty curve and beating those later ones really made me feel like I accomplished something great. Of course, having some evil organization come out of nowhere and kidnap people was... very random to say the least but bombing turrets to rescue them was a blast. Heh. Get it? A bla- I'm sorry...

Early buyers of the Super Nintendo were spoiled with their launch games line-up. This is a quick but addictive game that's right up there with games like Super Mario World and Gradius III. It's cheap as all get out online and is a title no SNES owner should be without. Highly recommended. :yeah:

UPDATE (6/15/2018): Unreal Tournament has been beaten! Played on the default and while that may have made things too easy when it came to the deathmatch and capture the flag ladders, I'm not sure I would have made it through domination or that last challenge fight if it were any higher. Shortly after buying this, I realized I already owned the game for PS2 but, for some strange reason, I actually like it more on the Dreamcast despite the lack of a second analog stick. Can't even think of a good reason why. All I know is I didn't want to stop playing until it was finished.

Don't get me wrong, though. This is a great game no matter which console you play it on and a must own if you have friends to play with. It has lots of characters to choose from, a nice amount of weapons to try out (my favorite is the Flak Cannon), very well designed levels, awesome music, fun shooting and, best of all, enough gore and bloodshed to put a tear in Ed Boon's eye. Look at the body parts fly! Fun for all ages! :yeah:

Decided to make a new post since the last one was getting ridiculous with all of those updates. Anyway, Crash Nitro Kart has been beaten! After three terrific games in a row, I finally came to one that ended up just being okay. The recipe for making a game that could surpass Crash Team Racing was all there with the better graphics, new hover sections, new weapons and the all-new team-up frenzy where riding near your teammate for long enough let's you use a bunch of items back to back for a short time but then the game started making baffling choices like have the karts go about as fast as the 50cc setting on Mario Kart and having some of the more established characters get replaced by forgettable newcomers like Zem and Zam. Bosses are also all new and all boring (with the exception of Velo, who is annoying), the placement of crystals during the Crystals Challenge seem off like there was little thought into where they should go and I'm sorry but the humor in this game is just bad even for a game aimed at children. It's no "recycle butter" like in Crash of the Titans but it's still bad.

Overall, I again say this game is only okay. If you don't compare it to Crash Team Racing on the PS1 then I might even say it's good. Certainly better than kart racers like Renegade Racers and what I've played of Crash Tag Team Racing. Still, you can do much better. Don't go out of your way to get this one and only buy it if it's cheap.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies through the Rare Replay, such a shame this game was as bad as it was, looked niced but was pretty boring to play. Luckily it was quite short.

I enjoyed BB:CTB a fair amount, though the fact that you have to replay the BlazBlue episode three more times after beating it, making different choices each time to get the true ending, was a bit tedious.

Monster Hunter World (Reached HR100) - 1st April

3DS
Puzzles & Dragons: Mario Edition (Beat the 8 Main Levels and up to 2*) - 26th April

Switch
Super Mario Odyssey - 2nd May
Mario Kart 8 DX (Beat 200CC) - 1st June
Pokemon Quest (Beat the first Mewtwo battle) - 6th June
Urban Trial Playground (Beat the final stage) - 5th July

I actually bought Urban Trial Playground during my recent visit to Japan since it was available as a physical release there (it didn't have an NTSC-U physical release sadly) and I think it was worth the $30 price tag. The local multiplayer mode is tons of fun so I definitely recommend this game to anybody who can find somebody else who enjoys stunt bike games to play together with! :yeah:

Edit: Just wanted to point out that the Japanese release of Urban Trial Playground has full English language support if anybody is wondering!
