While perusing the Nintendo (of Japan) website, I saw a 3DS game that was just released entitled, "Back in 1995 64". And yes, it is an homage to N64 games. Here's the translated page: 90's Low-Poly Mystery Adventure, Resurrection! You were cleaning the parents' house, you will discover old game machines from the back of the shelf. The touch of the controller in a corner of memory. Surprise to 3D games that I saw for the first time. The story of the story that I forgot. You start the game so that you can draw from nostalgia and interest. ... without knowing that it was the beginning of a nightmare. "Back in 199564" is an adventure game that faithfully restructured the game of the era of the forgotten 3D polygon dawn. While wandering through the eerie world of the upper floor of the building where the monster wanders, the player unravels the mystery about the collapsed city and himself. Why did you come back to this era? Where the hell are you heading for? Let's unravel the mystery while recalling the troublesome of the handicapped action, the classic camera work, and the radio control operation using the cross button. When the game is going wrong, touch the "fictional retro game machine" on the bottom screen with the touch operation. Please enjoy the gimmick which reproduced the behavior which was similar to the game machine you used twenty years ago, such as loose TV cable and reattaching the cartridge. Welcome to the world of old, new, 90's low poly mystery adventure. https://www.nintendo.co.jp/titles/50010000045335 |

I know it's a mystery type puzzle adventure, but those screenshots make it look like a horror game, it's got the Silent Hill looking health drink and inventory. The early 3D era theme has so much room for fan service, I know some people thought it would never be as popular as the Snes and Nes era pixel art throwbacks, but the early storm seems to have started on that. It's being developed by Mediascape and I'm pretty sure all their games have been Japanese exclisive so far. I bet this will be one of those games that shows up on 3DS hidden Gem videos in a few years as long as it turns out decently. It's coming out right at the end of the 3DS life cycle too Edited by Shellshocker18, Mar 29 2018, 01:04 PM.

Dang, too bad it's eShop only. Even if it was Japanese only, a physical release would be something I'd be interested in having. |
