E3 2018 will soon be upon us - what are you hoping gets unveiled or demonstrated? Here's what I'd like to see.

1) Crash Team Racing Remix or CTR2 for the newer consoles. I desperately need an online mascot kart racing game for my PS4!

2) Armored Core 6: Hopefully a new entry in the long-running series is debuted at E3.

3) Super Smash Bros for Switch along with a next generation version of the GameCube controller. By that I mean a first-party GC controller with a more precise analog stick and a USB connector rather than a proprietary plug.

4) N64 Mini: We're all almost certain it's coming this year but I want Nintendo to reveal the software lineup and system specs.

By the way, I like what I've been reading and seeing about Black Ops 4. Seems like changes are being implemented to the COD formula to make the franchise more engaging to causal players again and in my opinion that's a VERY good thing.

The main thing I’m looking out for is info on smash bros. Switch. Even though it probably won’t get me to buy the system, it’s fun to watch the hype train as it goes by :)

I suppose some more Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee info would be interesting too.

I don't actually watch E3 events anymore. So far the only things I'm intereted in are the Cuphead DLC and the return of Battletoads. GameStop employees across the nation groaned at that one, including my cousin who works there.

I'm interested in Nintendo and what the Resident Evil 2 remake will be like. Everything else I couldn't care less about.

So Grizz, looks like you’re gonna get that online kart racing game for PS4. But it’s not crash.

Team Sonic Racing looks fun enough but I guess I'm not that thrilled since Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing never felt as polished as Mario Kart Wii.

By the way, a Resident Evil 2 remake has now been confirmed.

Easily the worst Nintendo Direct in years. Sony’s conference wasn’t enjoyable either.

But I’m excited for Fallout 76 and Just Cause 4.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - E3 2018

Seems like Nintendo is making some good changes to 1-on-1 versus.

Towards the end of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate video it's shown that new GameCube controllers will be released although the only thing different is the decal on them.

BTW, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate drops on December 7th which just so happens to be the anniversary of the date the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

Smash Ultimate combining all the stages from Wii-U and 3DS and all that other stuff is crazy. All those crazy photoshoped screens over the years with like 100 characters are becoming less outrageous. Says something about me that I'm not all that excited, but any little kid playing this is as a first smash game has no idea how spoiled they are with characters.

I remember all sorts of heated Ridley debates over the years. Like way too heated for presumably grown adults to be having over fictional sizes and crossovers. Now they've added him and I just think how crazy those debates really were. He fits right in and who really cares if he looks weird. A lot of people thought it would ruin his character I remember, as if Nintendo characters are sacred or we'll written or something. I'm kind of glad Sakurai just said :cussfit: it and put him there anyway.

But it didn't have Earthworm Jim or Booger Man, so ClayFighter 63 1/3 I think still beats it for most ambitious gaming crossover.

Also RE2 and Mario Party aren't catering to exactly what I would like from them. So I didn't have much fun for E3 this year because I'm a cheap cynical adult who just plays retro consoles

Also no N64 mini. Though I don't think this will stop people from constantly making online threads talking as if it's a guaranteed future product.

Nintendo's E3 was a masssive let down but they tend to show new stuff in their regular directs so no big surprise I guess. That mech game looks quite good though so I'll keep my eye on that one.

Shellshocker, whats your opinion on the RE2 remkae then, are you unhappy its third person and not fixed camera? I must admit i was hoping it would be more like REmake however it looks amazing and I dont blame them going that route as long as the tension is there which is seems to be. The look of the game is so good and if I want classic Resi I always go back to the PS1 games :)

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will support GameCube controllers

Quote:

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't just bringing back every single playable character from across Smash Bros. history - it's also going to support the classic Nintendo GameCube controller.

Nintendo also teased a new, Smash Bros.-branded re-release of the GameCube controller similar to what it offered with the Wii U version of Smash Bros., although no prices or release dates have yet been announced for the resurrected controller. To get GameCube controllers to work, though, you will need a USB adapter for your Switch - fortunately, there are plenty of third-party options out there. The need for the old-style USB adapter also means that you won't be able to hook up GameCube controllers when the Switch is in handheld or tabletop mode. Still, any GameCube support is better than nothing.

The Switch has actually supported GameCube controllers since October 2017, when the system got a software update that quietly added support for the venerated controllers that have become almost synonymous with Smash Bros. at this point. On a technical level, the Switch supports GameCube controller inputs for any game, assuming you can get away with only two trigger buttons (instead of the four usually offered by the Switch).

Nintendo will also be re-releasing it's official GameCube controller adapter for the Switch alongside Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in December, should you prefer to stick with an officially branded option.

Makes some sense that Smash was the focus yesterday. New game, new experiences. I'd be stoked if I were a Smash player. But I am not. Nor am I into Pokemon or tennis, doh . . . .

Still, I'm stunned that Nintendo did not show more . . . yet. I refuse to believe this E3 will end without something on the Star Fox racer and a few more Labo Toy Con sets at the least.

Kinda E3 related: I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and got some free maps for Black Ops 3 as a bonus. Sony is also giving away the base BO3 game to PSN members this month which really ought to help fill up the online servers. I've had the game since launch so Sony kind of gave me nothing. :D

BLACK OPS 3 DLC 6 IS REAL: BLACK OPS 4 REMASTERED MAPS GAMEPLAY TRAILER!

This works out to be a good deal for me since I was going to get BO4 anyway. The free maps for BO3 are just something to tied me over during the scorching hot North Carolina summer. -_-

Oh yeah, DAEMON X MACHINA for the Switch looks cool although even it and Smash Ultimate aren't quite enough for me to pull the trigger on Nintendo's console just yet.

It does look good graphically and it's not that I'm the kind of person that prefers the classic fixed camera vs the behind the shoulder view. Though a Remake of the quality from the 2002 Remake would have been great on its own, I think the devs or RE2 Remake are doing a good job for what they are doing. My worry is that because it's behind the shoulder it's going to have the combat the from the Revelations games which I don't like. In RE4 and to a lesser extent 5, because they were action games first, the levels had more unique layouts and gimmicks in each room. They were more vertical, there were a lot of different enemy types, and you had about 59 different weapon choices. Just the way the Police Station is laid out makes that type of stuff impossible so it's just going to be more like Revelations weird hybrid, running and strafing around enemies in a very fluid way, but there is less tension when you have full control like that.

Also in Revelations you didn't have the body specific melee attacks, headshots, or transformations of any kind weakening the impact of everything further. RE7 was really boring on my second playthrough for a few reasons but 1 was that the combat is so slappy and not methodical. It's why I prefer games like RE4 and Body Harvest where you can't move and shoot, so you actually have to be defenseless when you are attacking. I mean it still looks good, I don't really care what it does. I'm sure it will remix areas and change things up to surprise original fans. I just think that Remake from 2002 still did it in some amazing ways like with the Umbrella Crests, the Lisa Trevor sub plot and areas, the extra outdoor hallway connected to the right wing, crimson heads, the doorknob near the right wing save room, changing the timing of certain scares etc. all without actually completely changing genre form the original. I just wonder how great the same would be for RE2

I'm with you, i would of preferred a game in the same style as REmake but from everything I have seen and read so far the horror eliminate is back and its pretty scary, i hope they release the E3 demo soon so I can give it a proper try :) It does seem that they've added a lot of extra areas etc so it will be great to play through a game I know so well with extra bits in it.

Also another game from E3 i'm looking forward to is Just Cause 4, I enjoyed number 3 a lot so hoping for more of the same.
