What games did you used to play in the golden years of childhood? What pixelated treasures are forever entrenched in your memories? The first computer games I ever played were on the school computers: Maths Rescue and Word Rescue, to be exact. Lots of fun. These weird monster things were stealing all the maths/words in the world, and you had to stop them by covering them with slime! Didn't take long for us wee nippers to figure out how to turn off the option that made you actually do maths/English skills in the game, either ... After that I discovered Jazz Jackrabbit (yay, radioactive bunny!) and, eventually, Sim City 2000 and Sim Tower. I really wish I could figure out how to make them work on my new computer ... |

Right. Oregon Trail. -loved that game- Once I got older, I played Amazon Trail quite a bit too. It was fun to feed that one evil guy poisonous plantmatter and make him throw up. |

I used to play Candyland with a passion. True, it's not a computer game (not that I know of...), but it's a Golden Oldie. |

Never was much of a fan of PC games, but this thread isn't on those specifically, is it? I spent much of my youth playing the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles demo we had on the computer, 'till I accidentally deleted and thought it was gone forever, not knowing I could restore it from the recycle bin. The day I bought Sonic Mega Collection+ on PS2 ten years later and finally finished Sonic 3 was magical. Also, if it counts, I also adored playing Super Mario Bros: Six Golden Coins for the Gameboy... Yer, never got into computer games like some people.

Well, seeing as the only equipment my parents would buy us was a PC, we had to make do. Our neighbours loaded up a ZSNES emulator on our Windows '95 model, though ... that was fun. |

In that case, Crono Trigger is one of the greatest games evar. As is Super Mario Bros 3.And if Pokemon counts, Pokemon.

You lucky wench! If I want to play Word Rescue these days I have to go to my parents' house, break into the basement, wait half an hour for our Windows '95 computer to boot up, and freeze my pants off while playing. |

Ooh, you lucky thing! Do you have to use a Dos emulator, or do they just play? My laptop is fairly crap ... maybe it will play them ... |
