1. The Awakening
- And the red sun rises! (Amado Awakens)
- And so...
-
The Shirokami pirate crew stumbles upon an ancient Fionan temple floating in the sky. Deep inside the chambers, there lies a sealed individual who hasn't walked the soils of Vaenice for nearly eight thousand years. When the Fionan wakes up, he is filled with the same destructive hatred he still held from the time before his slumber; a hatred fueled by hubris and the death of his beloved mother. Now that he has been unleashed, what does he plan to do next?

- And so...
-
After the Shirokami crew narrowly escapes both the wrath of the Tritonian military and Amado Vitapax, they decide to regroup on the shores of the neutral nation of Arcadia. Before embarking on a search for their missing leader, Mako Sarizuko, the crew first sent off those who died in the struggle against Amado. The crew was unaware of a trespasser lurking somewhere on board; she was determined to capture the missing captain, although she was quite unaware that he was gone. After the funeral ceremony, the bounty hunter made her move, only to be dealt with by one of the crew's top fighters. Taking the bounty hunter captive, the Shirokami crew looked forward, trying to figure out if or how they would find Mako...
- Drifting Away (follows Mako)
- And so...
-
After being stranded on a plank of wood in the ocean, the pirate captain was rescued by a fellow Pacifikos pirate crew with whom Mako has shared connections. During his stay on the Flaming Lambert, Mako is able to recover from his injuries. He then enlists their aid in order to sneak into Tritonia, the nation he is most wanted in.

- And so...
-
While traveling on a transport ship, Shuri, Yuki, and Emma run into a giant sea monster. Amado, while exploring the new world, finds the people on board the vessel in trouble. 3a. The Tritonian Princess
- By Nightfall (Follows Mako and Selene)
- And so...
-
Night fell upon the Tritonian city of Helanne, but something was amiss. The heiress to the Tritonian throne, the rebellious, young princess Selene, sneaks out of the castle to roam her beloved city. However, she is not the only one sneaking about. A mysterious figure has journeyed to Tritonia in order to find an informant. When the two meet, the young princess is completely unaware of what she has gotten herself involved in. After running away from guards wishing to bring her home, she comes across a building in which the figure and his informant, a drunken man named Dimitri, are having a chat. The curious princess listens into their conversation dealing with crystals and compasses. She also learns of the mysterious man's true identity as Mako Sarizuko -- the most wanted man in all of Tritonia. Before she can flee, she ends up being caught in the act and is kidnapped after hearing the information. Now her captor seeks to escape the country alive...
- Sayonara Tritonia! (Follows Mako and Selene)
- And so...
-
With the princess unconscious, Mako begins his trek up the treacherous and cold paths of the Cynisca Sierras. However, she does not stay quiet for long and eventually wakes up, bound by magic that is foreign to her. In their travels through one of the caverns, the pirate captain reveals a part of Selene's family that she had never known. This greatly changes her attitude toward the situation and returning home. Thus she agrees to travel with Mako and his crew, whenever they return to the Houkoukaze in order to see what such a lifestyle is like. The two come out of the caverns to meet Dimitri with a strange contraption called a submarine -- though it is small and leaky. This would be their escape from the Tritonian border and onward to a reunion with the long separated crew...
3b. Emma's Hope
- An Unlikely Companion! (Follows Amado and Emma)
- And so...
-
After seizing the child with the mysterious power from a Hanshinan transport ship, Amado brings her to an abandoned shack somewhere in Exiona in order to recover. Emma had fallen unconscious moments after releasing an unspeakable source of power from within. Amado, for some reason, is drawn to the power, although he does not understand it. He does, however, lie to the poor child, claiming that he could cure her. Now the two travel as unlikely companions, though the naive child is unaware of what she has gotten herself into...
3c. Scuffle in Turtiana
- A Child's Lament (Follows Clive, Jagger, Julia and a brief appearance by North)
- And so...
-
When Julia von Vogelbach, one of the seven pirate lords, arrived on Turtiana, she didn't expect to run into two old acquaintances in Jagger Schenkkan and Clive Arkady, both pirates from a rival crew. The two men landed on the island having some business with a mysterious boy named Remi Lennevald. When Remi leaves with another woman, the three adults go on a search for the child, only to be led to an underground auction deep in the catacombs of the pirate island. They soon discover Remi during a bid for a rare Hanshinan explorer's compass, which Remi wins through a lengthy battle of bidding. However, Remi's opponent, Adamo Moretti, was not going to let Remi win fair and square as a brawl soon unfolds for the heirloom. Julia, Clive, and Jagger fend off Adamo and his henchmen, just so they all can escape the auction floor. During the fight, it is revealed that Adamo was working for Captain Seolfor, known as the Automaton General, who is also one of the seven pirate lords. Fortunately, before Adamo called in the cavalry, Clive, Jagger and Remi managed to escape through the elevators while Julia meets up with her crew. Who are these men after the compass? Why was it so desired by so many people? What did Captain Seolfor know? What would be the next course of action for Remi and his two companions?
3d. In The Name of Science
- The Hidden Floor of Area 42 (Follows Nateilo, Dacian, and a brief appearance by Mindelay)
- And so...
-
Eager about his new assignment down in the Ainbrach research facility, Nateilo's hopes and expectations are dashed when he is greeted by the estranged Prime Minister of Exiona, Dacian Corsair himself. It doesn't appear as though Prime Minister Corsair was himself that evening, but Nateilo proceeded with the tour of his new workplace. Apparently, Nateilo has been handpicked to conduct top secret study on a specimen the Exionans have recently acquired. Such study could lead to the weapons and technology of the future. However, there is a catch. Nateilo feels as though something very unethical is happening down in the hidden floor of Ainbrach. His suspicions are right when Corsair reveals a captured Fionan girl, no older than him in appearance. She seemed entirely helpless, but there was little Nateilo could have done in his position. Corsair proceeds to convince Nateilo the good he will be doing by continuing the research, also pressuring the young scientist that his inquisitive nature could not pass up an opportunity such as this. Reluctantly, Nateilo agrees to go with the plan, only to save his life because he knows that if he refuses, he would not be able to leave with what he has seen. As Corsair leaves, Nateilo can only regret the nightmare he has gotten himself into, just like the Fionan girl.

4a. Reunited at Last!
- Long Awaited Reunion (Follows Selene, Rei, Akane, Jalee, Rithys, Mako, and Dimitri.)
- And so...
-
The crew arrive in Hanshina in the city of Kyojen. They make their way to the red light district and meet up with Mako, Selene, and Dimitri. Just then, the vice-admiral announced Mako Sarizuko's arrest, and the group began battle.... well, not before Admiral Katsuro Tanizaki burst out of a sake house nearby. The drunken Admiral resolved to help Rei in this fight, and the two held their own against the pirates. At the climax of the brawl, Tanizaki and Akane were down because of the Admiral's drunken carelessness, while Rei cast a death-tying curse on the captain in a final attempt to silence him. The captain, as a final resort, showed the crest of Hanshina to the very surprised vice-admiral and the very drunk admiral. Reluctantly, but decidedly, Rei allowed for the captain to meet with the emperor. Rei, Katsuro, Mako, Selene, and Dimitri moved on to Mt. Dashi, while the rest of the crew stayed behind and took care of their injuries.
- Bona fide (Follows Rei, Selene, Mako, and Katsuro)
- And so...
-
The group travelled to Mt. Dashi, lead by the now sober Admiral and the still hot-tempered Vice-Admiral. After a long journey, they finally made it to the throne room and the Emperor Shigeru Benitoura sat, waiting to speak with them. After a tense conversation, the Emperor was more informed about the day the sun burned red. The Shirokami captain left with the intention of finding the Fionan, and was lead outside by the vice-admiral. Afterwards, the Emperor ordered Katsuro to find the Fionan first to find out its secrets and for the betterment of Hanshina.
- The Next Step (Follows Selene, Mako, and Rithys)
- And so...
-
The Shirokami pirates return to their airship, the Houkoukaze, in order to discuss the next course of action. Their captain, Mako, explains to them the mark on his left hand as the mark of Elencia. It is a power unlike anyone has ever seen, granting the user elemental powers akin to the gods. Mako reveals to them that this power is contained in crystals and that it is possible to find them and harness this power. They believe that by attaining this power, they can stand a chance at combating the powerful Fionan that had decimated their crew earlier. Setting out with a special compass that is believed to track the crystals, the pirates may find themselves in a much more dangerous predicament...

5a. The First Ryndarian
- Lost in the Woods (Follows Zaki and Maeve)
- And so...
-
Admiral Katsuro Tanizaki arrives in Arcadia looking for the Fionan Amado. He lands in the port of Luna, Arcadia, and walks into the forest, believing he can navigate through it to Woodhurst easily. Zaki becomes lost and finds himself at the hut of Maeve Kerra, the "Witch of the Woods". They have a lengthy conversation before Zaki brings up the subject of the Fionan. Maeve gives Zaki an amulet to help find the Fionan, and the Admiral speeds off in excitement.
- Witch in the Woods (Follows Akane, Mako, and Maeve)
- And so...
-
Using the Compass of Olira as a guide, Mako and Akane venture out into the Winterbury Woods to find the next elemental crystal. Just when they were about to give up, the compass leads them to Maeve, the witch of Winterbury. They find out that Maeve is actually a Ryndarian, an immortal created by the gods many years ago. They also were told that the compass actually belongs to Maeve and that it was indeed broken, explaining why it did not lead them to any of the crystals. In exchange for her help, the two agree to find a certain cave for Maeve, but Maeve curses Akane, giving her only three days to find the secret location or else she'll die. Racing against time, the two set out to do Maeve's bidding...
- Glimpse of the Netherworld (Follows Akane, Mako, and Maeve)
- And so...
-
As Mako and Akane trek through the woods, the hour of Akane’s death creeping ever so slowly upon them, they come across a glade containing a picturesque pond, but not a cave in sight. The stone in Mako’s hand begins to react erratically in the presence of the pond, and Mako drops it in to discover that the pond itself is an illusion; into the throat of the earth the two go. But as they get closer and closer to their goal, Akane becomes weaker and weaker, collapsing in Mako’s arms as he cries out for the Witch of Winterbury to make good on her end of their bargain; she arrives and begins leading Mako and the unconscious Akane into a room filled to the brim with glowing Auria, in the form of runes and mists. Separating herself from the group, Maeve enters an Auria barrier into the Netherworld, where the souls of the dead mingle. It is here that she encounters the lost spirit of a long-dead Fionan, who tells her of the circumstances surrounding Amado’s sudden appearance. After getting the information she needs, she returns through the barrier and tells Mako how to cure Akane’s curse. Bidding each other goodbye, Maeve opens a rift and transports the two back to the Houkoukaze.
- The Other Athanasios (Follows Selene and Mako)
- And so...
-
HERE.
5b. The Automaton General
- North Seolfor's Lucky Lady (Follows Jagger, North, and Maeve)
- And so...
-
Jagger, through a series of unfortunate events, finds himself seeking passage to Exiona via the famed Arcadian luxury train, "Lucky Lady." While onboard, his sleep is disturbed by sounds of an attack; the Automaton General, North Seolfor, boards the train with a team of half-men, half-machines. Maeve, the Ryndarian, leaves her hut in the woods to find a way to stop Amado Vitapax, and while wandering the woods comes across the train, now dead on the tracks. Seeking a map, she walks into the middle of the conflict, disguised as a blind woman. With her help, Jagger manages to save the passengers from North's soldiers, and Maeve apprehends North before he is able to steal the Engine, the Lucky Lady's auria crystal power supply. Jagger gives Maeve her map, and leaves with the Engine in his bag and an unconscious North over his shoulder; his intent, as would later become apparent, is to collect on the Hanshinian bounty on the Automaton General.
- North Going South (Follows North, Jonno, Rei, Katsuro, Shun, and Lena)
- And so...
-
After having been sold to the Hanshinan Empire by Jagger, North faces a swift and immediate execution for his crimes against not just Hanshina, but the world. As one of the world's most wanted, he lost any right to redemption; thus, the citizens gather for one of the Empire's most ancient and brutal execution traditions, submersion in the acid of the carnivorous Hopi flower. As he is lifted into the flower, a man with a Tritonian face, a laurel crown, and a black glider arrives, immediately causing much chaos; Vice Admiral Rei and a companion attempt to stop the intruder, Jonno, while the other soldiers and citizen look on in terror. North is freed, and the Hopi is slain; in the dirt underneath the execution platform, North encounters the bounty hunter Lena Orthallo, who quickly fabricates a lie about working with Jonno to rescue North. He is convinced to follow her, and under the cover of her smoke bombs they escape into the forest. Jonno vanishes into the sky, his eyes scanning for North.

6a. Uprising in Exiona
- And so...
-
A typical night for the pirates of the Terror Moon found them drunk and disorderly in their usual haunt, the Greasy Can - a hole in the wall bar that acts as a center for illegal gambling in the back, but operates as a legitimate bar and brothel up front. Jagger finds himself entranced by one of the dancers, while Clive and the others party it up. The festivities are halted abruptly when a powder bomb rolls through the bar's swinging doors; fast action prevents anyone from taking too much damage.
Pouring out into the street, the pirates discover a riot erupting before their eyes; a revolutionary, known as the Black Bomber, has taken up arms with a group of oppressed, slum-dwelling foreigners against Prime Minister Dacian Corsair's regime. Riot police march in lines down the street, beating any and all who get in their way; a swordsman, Rikter, slices his way through the ranks, while Desmond Schenkkan and the Gentleman's Crew join in against Corsair's army. Clive begins a hot pursuit of the Black Bomber, a blonde woman named Gretel, and Jagger acquaints himself with a repulsive but brilliant goblin whose chemical knowledge forms the basis of the police force's downfall.
When she is cornered, Gretel produces the mother of all bombs, her suicidal last resort; Clive jumps in at the last second and punts the bomb far away, into the side of a building bearing Corsair's insignia. It crumbles to the ground. The police lose all sense of decency and begin tearing into the citizenry, but by now, everyone is fighting back against the brutality. When Tax runs off with some of Gretel's explosives, she retreats to the sewers, followed by Clive and Jagger. Unimpressed, she departs; Tax wipes out the police, leaving the revolutionaries inspired. The pirates end up staying in Tax's charming, if slightly abhorrent, lair to wait out the riots.
- And so...
-
Tritonia organizes the initial meeting and briefing session of the Scarlet Wolves, their experimental squadron of one-man fighter aircraft. They are to carry out a secret mission in the center of Exiona's revolution.
- And so...
-
Not to be inconvenienced by something so petty as a revolution in the streets, Pirate Lord Leuther Schenkkan takes his youngest son Rolf to a local barber, Jackson McLeod. The barber instantly recognizes Leuther as the Ruthless Gentleman, and the two dance around their true identities as Jackson, a killer, shaves Rolf's throat. But when an assassin shows up to off them both, by order of the Prime Minister, the two decide that Corsair has been a pain in the ass for long enough.
- And so...
-
The Scarlet Wolves, Tritonia's prototype fighter squadron, receive their first assignment. Traveling to the capital of Exiona, they deploy in the dead of night to survey the situation and assist when a victor becomes clear. But the Wolves have a change of heart when they see how clearly outmatched the civilians are, and immediately engage Corsair's forces, aiding the revolutionaries. Meanwhile, Pirate Lord Leuther Schenkkan and butcher barber Jackson MacLeod pair up to take down Dacian Corsair once and for all.
- Inhibitions (Follows Jagger and Soto with appearances by Merrikh and some NPCs
- And so...
-
Soto lies in restless sleep, reliving the nightmare of the second mission of the Scarlet Wolves. He and his ship are eaten by a mutant aerworm, and though he is able to cut his way out of its body, he is captured and interrogated by Luxaria for his role in the mission. He refuses to comply until visitors waving the Dorman flag arrive. The prince of Exiona and leader of the revolution Lukas Dorman has arrived to figure out Tritonia's role in Corsair's coup of the government. With him are select members of the Terror Moon pirates, including Jagger, who manages to get Soto to talk.
Soto reveals that Corsair was working with Tritonia, and several high profile prisoners are still being held in the Tritonian aerial fortress, the Prison Ship Purgatorio. Under threat of execution, Soto develops a plan to rescue said prisoners, which include Lukas' parents, the former king and queen of Exiona.
Exploiting Tritonia's protocol for reinstating lost soldiers who manage to find their way home, Soto is able to sneak Lukas aboard the prison ship. Under the lens of suspicion the two manage to develop an escape plan, but during its execution, Eve Abendroth, leader of the Scarlet Wolves, arrives to recover Soto.

7. Cinaed
- And so...
-
HERE
- And so...
-
Remi Lennevald follows the signal of the crystal compass he'd stolen from the auction on Turtiana to a remote Luxarian ruin, enlisting the aid of the Gentleman's Crew as help. The Ruthless Gentleman and the Mistress of Malcontent both have a keen interest in helping Remi's quest, so they send Jagger and the Diamond Overture with him. Accompanied by the mad chemist Tax and a stowaway boy named Reeve, they fly to the Myrioda Desert in search of the crystal. Their paths cross with the Automaton General's recent right hand, Jonno Daccat of the Tritonian Kentavrs. Though a highly disciplined fighter, he was overpowered by the pirates' use of Auria, and put under the blade of the mad chemist.
- Cinaed (Follows Jagger, Remi, Tax, Reeve, Mako, Selene, Jonno, North, Rizuk, Akane, Rithys, and Rei)
- And so...
-
Three groups enter the colossal ziggurat in the desert where the Fire Crystal was said to lie in wait for someone with an adventurous and free spirit to discover. The descent is fraught with traps which slow down the groups, but the Automaton General North is the first to arrive. He begins to heat the crystal with his Psionics in order to activate it, but he is stopped by Remi and company. In the midst of chaos resulting in Reeve's grave injury and a standoff between the General and Remi, a human(?) is birthed from the Fire Crystal. His fiery displeasure with the group is quelled long enough for him to request that they take him to Gonzdon, an ancient town of dragon-worshippers. Remi and co. reluctantly agree, only so that they could keep tabs on the Fire Crystal now absorbed into the man's body. Mako and crew fight through the traps further still when North's accomplice Jonno hears them approaching and, recognizing Princess Selene's voice, abandons his companion at the height of the tension with the fiery newcomer.

8. Anvedea
- And so...
-
Merrikh Shadowsong, vicious Dark elementalist and the most reviled of Vaenice's pirate lords, witnesses a most curious sight in the deceptively serene Winterbury Woods outside of Woodhurst. A Shaper, the fiery Cyan Hadonel, has something that Merrikh wants.
- And so...
-
North Seolfor, fresh from his expedition to Cinaed, visits the valley city of Guent in order to meet with Jillian Traceaux, one of the wanted Pirate Lords and self-proclaimed Queen of their group. Unbeknownst to him, a killer has been lying in wait for him there for weeks. Vlad Baikov, a Cossack warrior, has been working the docks under the assumed name Anton in order to blend in.
When North arrives, Anton is assigned to help him carry a crate down into the town's underbelly, where the Pirate Queen awaited news of North's expedition, and what he had brought her. The two pass into the town underworld, past the torturers and their victims into the Queen's cathedral of bones, and encounter the spectre of Merrikh Shadowsong, who hints cryptically that North had released something evil in the east. Fading into the shadows with laughter he vanishes, and North begins to present weaponry to the queen. Meanwhile, one of North's old creations, SAMAD, arrives in town and immediately begins a rampage toward North.
North's creations and failure in Luxaria do not amuse Jillian, though she remarks that his failure to obtain the Fire Crystal meant that it would be coming to her shortly. He does sway her with his only takeaway from the trip to Cinaed - wind Auria crystals that had been tainted by the brief awakening of the Fire Crystal. Now with two kinds of energy merged into one, he was able to easily produce directed lightning on the scale of Tritonian Jupiter cannons, but with no machinery necessary besides a pair of silken gloves.
Vlad uses this moment to reveal himself, now vying for the bounties on both of the Pirate Lords. The powerful Psions raise up a hellish necromantic nightmare in which to kill the assassin, when suddenly, their Psionic powers change. They begin to cause a great deal of pain, and take on a life of their own.
Vlad severs one of Jillian's arms, but being a Mediator Psion, she is able to reattach it. But the dead arm takes on its own life and begins to spray lightning with North's glove. North makes a run for it as Vlad faces Jillian, leaving behind his Psionic armor, which has begun to come alive as well.
North encounters SAMAD in the hallway, where the machine attempts to kill his creator. His discarded armor gets the drop on Jillian and eats her, incorporating her body into its. Then, as suddenly as these mutants arrive, they all flee in the same direction, carrying the bodies with them. Vlad, now alone, arms himself with all of North's for-sale weapons and fights his way out of the hellish Pirate City. On his way out, he sees what carnage the demons had wrought across the city, and the ghoulish tower the demons were building from the corpses. Making his way through the city to the dam at the head of the valley, he releases the floodgates, purifying the valley city of the filth of piracy and ending mercifully the lives of the civilians who would have to face death and the claws of the winged demons.
- And so...
-
Seeking the Darkness Crystal, Merrikh calls a meeting of the available pirate lords in order to outpace the other parties who seek the crystals.
- War, You Say? (Follows Merrikh, Amado, Jonno, and Selene; NPCs: King Athanasios, War Council, Oracle, Kentavrs)
- And so...
-
The leadership of Tritonia meets in order to discuss the upcoming war; the oracle predicts the triumphant return of Prince Jonno and Princess Selene; a marriage is announced; two men battle to the death for the hand of the beautiful bride.
- And so...
-
Jagger attempts to bring word from Lukas of impending war to the Luxarian queen, but he is turned away at the palace gates with no explanation. His attempts to get inside lead to a mugging, during which he is rescued by a curious man claiming to be a djinn. The man works for the queen and promises to bring the message to her for Jagger. Marid follows through on his promise, and it is revealed that the queen is no longer herself, and is now exploiting Marid's abilities.
