The yellow-eyed gunsman stretched his limbs as he hopped off the airship that had just recently landed on the Luxarian Savanna. He looked around at his surroundings quizzically as he took in the sights that the desert had to offer. Being a newcomer to this foreign land, Shun thought that it would be best to see everything that he could, despite the overwhelming urge that he felt to just run around and get lost in the desert somehow.

It's been a while since I've been on my own again. Might be good to take things a bit slower this time. From the way things have been going in the past, I'll probably get my fill of excitement in a short while, he mused to himself as he strolled out of the landing ground; his feet creating indents in the sand as he headed in the direction of Aribus. It was not that the gunner despised action and excitement; it was far from it, in fact. But there was just something in his gut telling him that something interesting would be happening in the not too distant future.

And if I remember correctly, Zalryas mentioned that he lived in Aribus. Maybe I should pop by his house to see if he returned home. Of course, there was a limit to his 'omniscience', as the green-eyed psion currently had his hands full with matters concerning a dead captain, a broken ship and a dying crew. But that was another story, and Shun was not a part of it.

A wind picked up, blasting Shun with a face-full of sand, causing the marksman to look up in surprise. Were deserts supposed to be windy? A sandstorm, perhaps?

Shun's ears perked as he noticed a sound that seemed similar to that of a large, wounded beast. His eyes darted around their sockets in search for the source, and out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed a small silhouette near the horizon.

[I hope this isn't too short D:]

OOC: No no, its alright XD.

He was tired, very tired. Traveling from one place to another on foot could easily drain the energy on almost every person. Sade had received word of a villager that was suffering from an unknown illness, and so he had taken the offer up and decided to see that particular villager. The Luxarian Savanna was wide and vast, and the boy could only hold a hand to his forehead, squinting into the distance as a rough breeze assaulted his small frame ever so constantly. Initially, some of the citizens at Aribus tried to convince him that traveling on foot would be tough, and some of them were only showing concern because of what they saw physically before them. Sade was a child, at least thats what he accepted due to his small stature. With a quick snap of his hand, the blood red haired boy swiveled his metal canteen and took a quick sip of water.

Sade never understood why Luxaria's large savanna had to be so hot. Although he knew that it was of a tropical climate, he was clearly still sweating from the heat wave that seemed to casually embrace the area. Just yesterday, I was in a cold climate... and now I'm suddenly in a hot zone. What bipolar weather I've been in. Sade grimaced at the thought, shaking his head as he walked slowly to keep his small body cool. The blast of hot wind wasn't helping him at all, it was only making him feel even more hotter as the temperature continued to rise. However he spotted something in the distance, it was something that he didn't expect. Little did others know, was that Sade's eyesight was extremely accurate, something that was considered inhuman of him.

What he didn't expect was to see someone in the middle of no where, peering back into the distance and looking at him. At first he thought it was a mirage, and rubbed his eyes before glancing straight back at the figure. It was rare to find Sade dumbstruck, but he could only curiously rub the side of his head in awe as someone stared back from the distance. Two small fangs dug into his lower nip nervously, as a traveler, he was aware that there were robbers in all places, and perhaps this man was a bandit of some sort. Something else caught his attention though, it was a loud predatory growl. The killer intent of a predator was all too familiar to him, as he was often a target for "prey" because of his childish appearance. In a split second, the boy found himself rolling to the side as he barely managed to evade the leap of a fully grown Luxarian lion.

Old books regarding Luxarian lions seem to come to his mind, they were certainly larger then any other lion he had encountered in his life time! Compared to the animal, Sade was rather tiny in appearance, and suddenly he felt like he was in grave danger. Sure he knew some self-defense, but it was clearly meant for actual people and not roaring animals that were more then twice his size! The lion seemed to stare at him intensely, its canines and fangs ready to snap the poor boy in two. Sade however wouldn't go down without a fight, and quickly slid on his infamous black gloves. Here he took the first offensive, clenching his right fist in his hand before punching the ground. Suddenly, the ground began to rupture, forming a large fissure as the boy's monstrous strength clashed and created a rift in the ground. With all of its reflexes, the lion managed to avoid some of the stalagmites that formed from the intense release of energy, although he ended up being slashed at various angles.

"...Oh Zack, this is not my day! Where are you when I need you!?"

A thin barrier of ice formed in Shun's hand, with a shape similar to a buckler of sorts. He was getting more innovative with his element, now finding purposes for it outside of combat. The makeshift shield was held in front of his face like a windshield as he dashed towards where the sound was coming from. The sand crunched beneath his feet as his pace quickened, his vision being able to now make up two shapes in the distance. One took a small, humanoid form while the other, from what Shun could tell, seemed to belong to the creature that was making the crying noise earlier. Was someone being attacked?

The desert sand still managed to sting the sides of his face as the desert gale blew the wretched material around, and the Hanshinan marksman was mission the cold winds of his native country already. He wondered why he came to Luxaria in the first place, and made a resolution to stop boarding airships at random. Though my life might become more boring after that, ugh.

There were other habits that Shun needed fixing according to other people, most particularly his tendency to engage in conversations with himself when the time was not very appropriate; something which Zalryas once told him made him 'weird'- ironic coming from him, but Shun took no offense to it. Instead, he mentioned casually that it was what kept him entertained most of the time, and that he would probably die of boredom without his inner-monologues.

Shun managed to pull himself away from his thoughts when the figures that he saw in the distance became fully clear to him now. A young child who couldn't possibly be older than fifteen was currently engaged in battle with what the marksman recalled to be a creature known as a 'lion', although he didn't realize they came in the particular size of 'gargantuan'. What was most strange was that the child was actually managing to beat the creature down, although Shun supposed that it wouldn't hurt to help the little guy out a bit.

Planting his feet firmly on the ground, the Hanshinan man thrust his palm into the sandy ground, causing a stream of ice to burst from the sands towards the large, savage beast. The ice flow managed to catch the lion just as it was recovering from the child's attack, and rooted the creature's feet to the ground. The lion did not seem like it would be held down for long though, as Shun could already hear the sound of his ice cracking.

Sade was quite aware of the situation he was in, the lion managed to avoid the ground attack and was already quickly recovering from his previous attempt to subdue the creature. The desert heart wasn't helping him at all, and it made it harder for him to concentrate his resonance ability that magnified his blows to obscene levels. As he took in deep breaths, the lion took the opportunity to leap again, one of its huge claws slashing vertically down in an attempt to kill its prey. The boy's eyes widened, and he made a desperate leap to the side to avoid the lethal attack. His hide was barely saved, and there was a large cut across his right cheek that was caused by a single large claw.

He clenched his teeth together in pain, holding a hand to his cheek before giving it a quick heal with a white light. The giant lion leapt again, opening its jaws as it finally caught the boy off guard. Sade closed his eyes for his dear life, clenching onto his shirt as he awaited the tide of darkness. A few seconds passed, and there was no piercing fang running through his torso, nor was his head being snapped and chewed by the creature. Ice swirled and wrapped around the lion's feet, curling around its ankle as if it were plant roots. A single brow lifted upwards in confusion, Sade knew that he was a light elementalist, and not an ice or water elementalist. Needless to say, he was more then glad that something, or someone had managed to save him in the nick of time.

In the corner of his eye, he saw the same figure of the stranger was now closer then he expected. Coming up with the deduction that it was this stranger who helped him, Sade was going to yell out a large thanks only to be interrupted by the sound of cracking ice. The animal didn't like being immobile, and was already following its instincts to break and continue after its prey. Emerald eyes blinked quickly, and instantly he knew what he had to do. Whether it was a human, or an animal, Sade wasn't particularly fond of taking the life of a living being. Doing what he could, he rushed towards the side of the lion's head, before giving the animal a surprised pet on its fur. It attempted to snap at him with its mouth, only before Sade uttered a barely audible "sorry". Using his left fist, the boy withdrew his fist backwards and launched it at the creature's body.

Upon impact, the lion broke free from the ice's grips due to the sheer force that followed the punch. The animal went flying into the distance like a bullet, only to land on the sand with a loud thud. He knew that the animal wasn't dead forever, for it was merely enough to render the poor creature unconscious. As it lay on the ground with the lights out for it, Sade gave a heavy sigh before falling to the ground, resting his hands on his lap as he removed the gloves off them. Gathering his breath, he stretched his limbs as he lay on the ground before standing back up. Making a 180 degree turn, the approached the stranger and spoke to him in a shy tone with the voice of a young boy around eleven years old.

"U-um, I'm sorry that I had to cause trouble like that sir."

[Man, long, wonderful posts there. My posts are sort of on the short side compared to you guys but I'll try to make the content make up for it :OTL: ]

The savanna was hot. Rei hated the heat. She missed Hanshina. She had missed Hanshina ever since she landed on this wretched country. No other country had a climate like Hanshina... a nice cold country all year round. Now that was the place she wanted to be.

Squinting around, Rei saw that the city was miles away... and though the airfield was in sight, she could not recognize it as an airfield as it had been designed to blend into the grasslands so as to not lose the natural look of Luxaria's precious savanna.

Precious savanna, Rei sighed. I'm actually lost in this precious savanna. Hmm? What's that? An animal... a lion actually, was flung in her direction with the force of a missile. It was too far away to actually come hit her though, and it landed on the ground with a thud. She thought she heard ice shattering as the lion landed. Ice? she thought, bemused. A near dead lion... and ice. What in the world?

Not far ahead, Rei could see two figures. One with one arm... he was Hanshinan, for sure. Then there was another more child-like figure with crimson hair. She frowned. What in the world could have thrown the lion with such force? Most likely not the child... but the other had only one arm. Elements? Psionics?

Either way, they were people Rei could talk to and ask for directions. As she moved closer, she recognized the Hanshinan. He was Shun Rai, and he had saved the Emperor from assassination at the cost of his arm. Ah, I remember clearly. Good of him to save the Emperor in such a self-sacrificing manner. That is a true Hanshinan warrior.

There was a short silence that passed as the creature's body flew in a graceful arc in the air before landing with a swift 'thud' a few yards away from where they were standing. The lion was of incredible size, and yet the person in front of him was was over a head shorter than him blew it away like a feather.

What does this child eat for breakfast?

Shun was shook out of his stunned reverie when the child had spoken to him. The gunsman decided to adopt a more cautious attitude towards the red-haired boy, for even though he had removed his gloves which Shun assumed to be the source of his strength, one could never be too careful with people that had physical might that could rival a mountain gorilla's.

"It's fine. No trouble at all," he uttered as he noticed a petite figure behind the child. The person looked incredibly familiar, but Shun could not seem to remember who she was.

After a few short moments of searching through his memory, yellow eyes widened in realization as he walked towards the woman and gave her a low bow.

"Vice Admiral Rei. An honor to meet you here," he said slowly before rising back to full height. He had never actually talked to the Hanshinan commander in person before, but he had seen her walking around the castle premises while he was still on duty. She was a curious woman to say the least, never engaging in small talk from what he could tell, and from what he remembered, she was even less social than he was back then.

I wonder what brings her here? Shun thought to himself as he stared at the lion's fallen body that was lying on the ground nearby.

There was definitely an awkwardness between Sade and the stranger, and so far he felt that he left a weird impression on the man. It wasn't everyday that a giant lion would be sent flying into the air by something so small, and with what empathy he had, Sade knew that this was highly unexpected of him. Sade gave a hefty sigh, emerald eyes examining the man to see if he was dangerous or not. He had remembered before, that its best not to trust people even if they helped you out too quickly. A small chuckle tugged at the corner of his lips the moment the stranger snapped out of his stupor, and was more then happy when the male said that it was perfectly alright.

Something sparked an interest inside him, he was curious as to what the man was glancing at and turned his head behind him to spot another figure. It wasn't another man though, this time it was a woman with a more petite figure. Emerald orbs blinked in childish curiosity as the new stranger approached. She was someone he didn't recognize, although had made a deduction that she was from the country of Hanshina. He kept his lips shut, only eying the two strangers as the man stared back at her with his yellow eyes. Finally the one on his right spoke, and unknowingly introduced the woman as some kind of Vice Admiral. While they were distracted, the boy took out a small book from his pocket, the book itself contained a plethora of random information, from herbs to renown people outside in the world.

Finally, his eyes spotted the information he wanted. The boy turned his attention to Rei, and could only stare at her in amazement like any other child would. He had heard of some of the military commanders or leaders among each country, but he sure didn't expect to meet the Vice Admiral of Hanshina's Royal Navy. Sade felt it was rude to stare at a stranger for too long, causing him to shake his head and mutter a small meek apology. The lion far away was near death, but it would manage to live based on his assumptions. His face suddenly widened with stark realization, the child hitting his fist against his palm as his idea popped up. He had forgot why he originally came here!

"Oh, I'm sorry but I must be on my way. Thank you again sir for the help earlier, and its nice to meet you Miss Rei."

[Here comes Rei the pessimist... and overthinker.]

Rei bowed slightly in response to Shun's respectful greeting and glanced at the boy and gave a curt nod of acknowledgment. She paid no mind to his mumble of apology.

"Coincidence we meet," Rei replied. "It was too bad I couldn't be there to commend you for saving the emperor."

She was about to ask for directions when the little red-head suddenly piped up about leaving. Leaving? In this vast empty space? Alone? He hardly looked 11; was it really safe for an 11 year old to wander around alone when there were lions? Rei still was rather stumped about who exactly defeated the lion behind her. Did Shun really have that much strength, even with his one arm? Or was it possible that this child had done it? Maybe if he was some sort of psionic prodigy he could make it with Resonance or Force... but still...

The sun was a factor also. What if this child died of heat stroke? Wouldn't his parents grieve to no end? What if they found Rei responsible since she let the child go in the first place? And if Rei was held responsible then Hanshina's reputation would be at risk... No, no. That wouldn't happen. Rei would not let that happen.

"It's not safe for a child to walk around alone," Rei said hurriedly, forgetting about her original intention to go to the airship harbor. "Shun and I will escort you to wherever you need to go. I'm sure an upstanding Hanshinan like Shun will not let this child go unescorted?"

Shun stared quizzically at the Hanshinan general for a while before deciding to avert his gaze. He was honored and somewhat touched that he was remembered by somebody as important as the Admiral herself, but he couldn't help but feel slightly awkward when said woman started making decisions for him. Apparently, she had already formed some sort of impression of the marksman and was expecting him to follow through.

Shun shrugged as he turned to face the child. It wasn't that he minded this sort of thing very much, but he wondered if all women decided things on their own without getting consent from somebody else. I mean, there was Yuki, and now the Vice Admiral.

The gunner also wondered what business Rei would be having in a land as foreign as Luxaria. The last he remembered, tensions between his homeland and the desert country were high, and neither side was willing to compromise for the other. It must have been pretty dangerous for someone with such a high position as her to step foot into Luxaria. Surely she did not board airships at random like he did. Was she here for some military reason, then? Was this child someone to be protected by the army, or something?

Deciding that he was reading too much into the situation and that Rei probably just wanted to help the child, Shun decided to speak up before anything else happened.

"Alright. I'll go with you if there's somewhere that you need to go to," he stated simply with a slight nod in the child's general direction. Though the child seems perfectly capable of handling whatever comes to him on his own, perhaps more so than me.

Seeing as she was busy conversing with the man, the boy smiled and gave a small bow of respect before continuing South to hopefully reach his destination. A hasty voice stopped him in his tracks, confusing the poor boy as he turned around to face both them yet again. No matter how many times he tried to push it down, there was a small hint of displeasure decorating his face from the admiral's claim. After all... he couldn't be that short... right? On the outside, he attempted a forced smile, although to them it probably would have appeared to be a childish pout. Sade closed his eyes for a few moments, lifting his chest up as he inhaled air before exhaling slowly. Heck, the woman hadn't even given him a chance to say no to her offer, which was obviously being forced upon him and the other man.

"Err... no really its alright.. I don't want to impose-"

The man interrupted his rebuttal against the admiral's forced offer, and it only agitated him to see two people coming along to help him simply because of his childish appearance. A harsh thing to do would be to use a smoke bomb to escape them, but the figured that would only draw hostile attention from two, probably well off fighters. Shrugging, Sade pulled out a map from his pockets, his tongue between the corner of his lips as he studied the Luxarian map. A small and slender index finger traced along the map, following a path southwards that lead to a village. Nodding, he folded the map neatly before returning it back to his pocket.

"Are you sure you two want to come? Its... actually the furthest village south of here on the whole continent, so it may take some time to get there by foot." He attempted to dissuade them from following them even more, part of him had the feeling that they too had their own business somewhere in the Savanna. Also... I only have enough medical supplies for myself and the villagers that were infected... if they come along there is a chance of possible exposure.

"I guess you can come... but please know that there is some kind of epidemic going on where I'm going right now, so it'll do you good to be careful once we get there."
