Does anyone else on here listen to any music to inspire their writing, particularly steampunk music?

I'm a big fan of Jill Tracy and the Malcontent Orchestra, her song "Evil Night Together" is such a moodsetter. The album it came from, Diabolical Streak, is pretty good at taking over your mind and putting you in this...I dunno. Delightfully macabre mood.

Vernian Process is excellent as well. Their Myspace page has some of their songs, not to mention their album downloads (they've got some neat stuff, I'm a fan of their Sonic Symphony album, a steampunk tribute to Sonic the Hedgehog, and their Castlevania one as well). "Her Clockwork Heart" is a great song, very sad, but very good.

Abney Park has a steampunk album out as well, and I think they're making another one. "Sleep Isabella" and "This Dark and Twisty Road" are my personal favorites of theirs.

Well, I do listen to music when I write[or type, more likely], but it's nothing steampunk-oriented. Usually it's just whatever I feel like listening to at the time.

Music does get me inspired to write sometimes, but other times I end up getting distracted and start typing the lyrics out instead. It's a double-edged sword, this one.

When ever I think about steampunk I think about honkey tonk pianos and Charlie Chaplin.

I can definitely see the Charlie Chaplin, but honkytonk? Of course, Jill Tracy has made me a bit biased, but I see it as more of a gothic jazz/industrial new wave kind of thing.
