This started as a full profile, but I don't think I'll be playing him as much, so I'll demote him to NPC and fill his history out should be become major.

Full Name: Leuther Halvard Schenkkan
Alias: The Ruthless Gentleman

Kingdom: Arcadia
Gender: Male
Age: 48
Birthday: Deciembre 8
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Psionic School: N/A

Currently

Florins: As many as he desires. He is a pirate captain, and a rather wealthy one at that. He doesn’t often make purchases, but the few he does make are typically expensive, and typically presents for his wife.

Items on Hand:
A golden pocketwatch, a miniature compass, a collapsible telescope, and a monocle grace this man’s pockets. The monocle goes largely unused, but he finds that it helps him blend in further with society, should he need to.

Weapons:
A pistol fit for a gentleman. The gun’s design elements share much with the builds of flintlock blunderbuss pistols, with intricate engravings showing the family tree of the Schenkkan family carved into the sides of the wide grip. The similarities to a flintlock end at the aesthetics. It is mechanically an eight-shot revolver, using the top break system for reloading. It packs quite a punch, as well, denting metal ship hulls from large distances and piercing weaker ships from closer up. Its main use is to tame Leuther’s jittery hands, but in a pinch he is known for his crack shot.

Aspirations:
Leuther is already there. His childhood aspirations were to fly and to explore the world. With the invention of airships and his appointment as captain of the Terror Moon, he has achieved both. Now, he lives for his crew, and more importantly, for his family. He wants to live to see his children grow up to be successful. He’s had mixed opinions on Francesca’s use of her life, but both Jagger and Rolf have exceeded his expectations. He wouldn’t tell his wife, but he wouldn’t mind another child.

Current Occupation:
Captain of the Terror Moon.

Home:
The Captain’s Quarters of the Terror Moon. A room full of charming decorations and modest wooden paneling. He has a love of taxidermy, and thus his room is dense with the posed corpses of animals he’s killed or bought. Rumors about the Gentleman say that he has a hidden crypt underneath his Exionan home, where the stuffed bodies of his dead parents sit posed in a replica of their own den, in their house in Arcadia. This theory is total bollocks, but rumors like these keep the Gentleman’s reputation alive.

Workplace:
The pirate vessel Terror Moon.

Pets: N/A

Looks

Appearance:
For someone so well-dressed and old, you would think he would be a thin man, graying hair, with fading eyesight and a disagreeable relationship with his body. Leuther is quite far from this image. He has short light brown hair, his temples only just beginning to gray (at this point, they just seem more blonde than the rest of his hair.) He has sunken blue eyes, but this sunken look doesn’t make him seem weary, but rather, very deep. Underneath his eyes, he has the beginnings of dark circles, much lighter than the ones he had in his youth. Across his tight forehead, he has one defined wrinkle, almost midway between his eyebrows and his hairline. His jawline is defined, and his lips are small and pale. Facial hair is improper, in his opinion, and so he is always clean-shaven.

Because of his line of work, he finds physical fitness to be very important to him, and it certainly shows. He is rather bulky and rather defined, with a chestful of hair and a lot of power behind his swings. He is often complimented on his physique when getting clothes tailored to fit his form.

Clothing:
True to his nickname, one look at Leuther and it is hard not to think, “What a gentleman!” He is the very picture of sophistication and chivalry. Rarely is he seen without his waistcoat and slacks, or his dress shoes and cane. One trademark article of clothing is his deep red top hat. He often tends to wrap his outfits around the deep color of his hat, thus he has quite a bit of red clothing. Red and white are the main motifs seen in his wardrobe (he has a white hat that matches the red one, but obviously, he can only wear one at a time).

Before a raid, he will strip his gentlemanly attire and dress in classic pirate fare. His color scheme flips completely from red and white to indigo and black, but he’ll often keep his monocle on his person. The monocle is actually the reason for his nickname, but we’ll delve into that in his history section.

Mentality

Personality:
Leuther has a compelling drive to understand the way things work. He’s good at logical analysis, and like to use it on practical concerns. His reasoning abilities are spot-on, but he isn’t interested in theoretical matters or mystics unless he sees a practical application for them. He is one of those people who like to tinker with objects to find out what makes them tick.
Even for an older man, Leuther’s spirit is that of an adventuresome youth. He is a thrill-seeker, finding joy in speeding across the skies or the ground. He thrives on action, and fears very little (he can leap from the railing of his airship and land on another meters below with no worries, but show him a serpent and he gets lightheaded). He is vigorous in his independence, especially when decision-making. He sees rules as a nice guideline for life, but hardly worthy of obedience, typically. Despite his high energy and need for constant entertainment, he is rarely bored. He enjoys the theatre and relaxation as much as the next guy. He just prefers to arrive by parachute.
Leuther is overwhelmingly loyal to his own beliefs, as well as his friends, and believes in equality for all people, and fairness in every situation. He may not have respect to laws and regulations, but when it comes to his moral code and his own policies, he is unwavering.
While he enjoys company, and people enjoy his, he likes to be alone. This is when his mind operates at maximum efficiency. He can pick up more small facts about the world and make judgments when he is alone.
Because of his action-oriented nature, he rarely sits still, unless his activities prompt it. He likes to be up and about. Even his hands are always moving, one reason why he carries his pistol. It helps tame his hands. He is entirely adaptable and often spontaneous, with strong technical skills and excellent leadership values. He has an excellent sense of expediency and grasp of details, enabling him to make quick, effective decisions.
He tries to avoid making judgments based on his own values, feeling that they should be made based on facts and evidence, not feelings. He isn’t exactly tuned in to how his decisions affect others, only that they are the best possible decision. He tries not to pay attention to his feelings at all, distrusting them, and he is sometimes unsure of whether his feelings and decisions are mixing.
When overstressed, Leuther sometimes exhibits rash emotional outbursts of anger, or, at the other end of the spectrum, may be overwhelmed by emotions and feelings which he feels compelled to share with people (often inappropriately).
Leuther is excellent in crisis situations. He is good at following through with projects, and tying up loose ends. He is patient, though prone to rare emotional outbursts due to his ignorance of his own emotions.
All in all, Leuther is optimistic, full of good cheer, loyal to his equals, uncomplicated in his desires, generous, trusting, and a receptive person who wants no part in confining commitments.

Family:

Valentina Vaughan-Schenkkan (Wife; 44) – Valentina, an Exionan, lives in Rechvald, raising Leuther’s youngest son and supporting his daughter. She is a respected member of society there, despite her ties to the pirate crew of the Terror Moon. Her intelligence is well-known, and many times she has had to turn down offers to work at Ainbrach, due to her overwhelming, almost paranoid maternal instincts. She works in accounting for the Exionan government.

Francesca Aurore Schenkkan (Daughter; 27) – The firstborn of the Schenkkan-Vaughan union, Francesca’s early education bred a hatred of piracy and pirates into her, and so she never saw quite eye-to-eye with her father. She was a bit of a hypocrite as well, chastising her father for his thievery, but being repulsed by her father’s miserly vibe and greed when he refused to use his goods for her personal benefit. In her early childhood, she got along well with both of her siblings, but as she grew she became more distant and hostile toward them. Now 27, she has become a family-oriented woman, and seeks to repair her shattered relationship with her siblings, but her opinion on her father is still at a low point.

Jagger Reynard Schenkkan (Son; 22) – Leuther’s first son, and First Mate on the Terror Moon. If you were to ask what the two think of each other, they would likely both reply, “Good enough.” Leuther has never had a reason to be disappointed in Jagger, and Jagger has never had a reason to disrespect his father. While they both like each other well, they are not particularly close. Jagger’s self-sufficiency prevents the need for a father figure, and Leuther is not an expert on giving his children advice, so their relationship works for the two of them.

Rolf Malcolm Schenkkan (Son; 17) – Rolf lives with Valentina in Rechvald, where he suffers from irritated lungs due to the high pollution. He is constantly coughing, and his smoking habit doesn’t help with that. He is being educated in the trade of woodworking, and enjoys playing the mandolin in his free time.

Desmond Ranulph Schenkkan (Brother; 45) – Quartermaster of the Terror Moon, and good friend of Leuther’s. Of course, this makes perfect sense, as they’ve been together for nearly their whole lives. He trusts Desmond with his life, and though they’ve had their spells of disagreement, Desmond’s opinion has been one thing he’s been consistent in obtaining before every decision.
