Full Name: William Smith
Alias: Fresh Prince
Kingdom: Originally Arcadia, now Luxaria
Elemental Affinity: Unknown, if any
Psionic School: Unknown, if any
Florins: He's very rich -- so stupendously rich that there's absolutely no reason for he to carry any money, ever.
Items on Hand: A small purse with make-up, a mirror, a nail file, a hand fan and a bottle of perfume in it.
Aspirations: To rid the world of pirates, and gain a little respect perhaps.
Current Occupation: Socialite and diplomat. His position is based largely on her family's wealth and social standing, and as such she is supposed to be present at these events as little more than eyecandy, but Sorrel has quite different ideas -- primarily concerning piracy. While a number of her peers endorse and even partake in piracy, Sorrel herself despises it - the idea that her father's airships could be raided by disgusting, petty rogues is one that bothers her a great deal, and as such she is often found rallying about piracy and the laws pertaining to it.
Given the chance she would have them all executed, and she makes no attempt to hide that fact.
Workplace: Varies from event to event -- she works at political shindigs, debates, makes speeches, that sort of thing.
Appearance: Sorrel is a beautiful woman, so long as she isn't speaking. Her rather venomous attitude betrays her angelic appearance, rather like the scales on a snake might hide it in the grass. He has dark skin, delicate features and thick dark brown hair that contrasts with her blue eyes. He's slenderly built and stands at 5'10'' shoes, though she's usually found in heels.
Clothing: She dresses elegantly, and modestly - she's always immaculately put together in a very feminine way -- she wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of trousers, let alone dressed like a peasant. She had a large and varied wardrobe, and will choose exotic and unusual dresses over traditional garb.
Personality: People would describe Sorrel as both 'driven' and 'passionate' but what they're really getting at is that they think she's a bitch -- her ladylike appearance and mannerisms are all but a veil for her true self, which is sharp, unpleasant, and very direct in her criticism. She has a bit of a reputation for being frigid, the term that many use is 'ice queen', and she has no time at all for people she perceives as stupid, ineffective or incompetent (that's everyone).
She is perfectly capable of adopting polite airs and graces for those who are deserving of them, but unfortunately there are not many who meet that criteria. She has been spoilt absolutely rotten, and it shows -- but she's also ambitious and determined, outspoken and passionate on current affairs. She's intelligent, and capable -- just not very nice.
Likes: Money, high society, good food, wine, debate
Dislikes: Peasants, children, animals, pirates, peasants, thieves... the list is fairly endless, actually.
Talents: She's intelligent, and good -- when she tries -- at conversing with people and sweet talking them. She's a good actress, but it takes effort, which she rarely bothers with.
Inabilities: Anything remotely physical (fighting, dealing with weaponry, cooking, cleaning, sewing -- if there's a job in the world, you can be certain Sorrel cannot do it)
Fears: Intimacy, destitution, PIRATES, embarrassment -- she's also terrified of deep water/drowning.
Family: Sorrel's immediate family were/are Arcadians -- her father was an ambitious young man who worked his way up building and selling airships, until he was one of the most prolific businessmen there was. By the time Sorrel was born she would want for nothing -- she was tended to by servants, governesses, and received only the finest in everything, including education.
Unfortunately, this meant that -- as an only child -- Sorrel was fairly estranged from her parents, and her relationship with them is strained to say the least.
History: Sorrel was raised with a silver spoon in her mouth, and the family were quick to settle in Luxaria for the sake of the climate and the wealth -- her mother was an avid collector of jewels and treasure, and her father wanted somewhere prosperous and relatively safe to leave the family while he was traveling (and living amongst farmers was too good for his little girl!). Sorrel was quick to try to insert herself into the correct social circles. These days she's trotted out at political events more as eye-candy than as a serious contender there, but she is more than determined to change that opinion.
She's had an abysmally easy life, and if she does have any magical abilities they are completely untapped and dormant as a result. Part of her future as such a blessed child was to marry young, into a lucrative family, but Sorrel has resisted this vehemently, which has driven a further wedge between she and her father, who had at one time promised her to more than one suitor.
Her father's business soon grew larger and became a shipping company as well as an airship yard -- and soon it became apparent that there was an ever-increasing loss margin at the hands of filthy pirates. Mr. Calloway is, perhaps suspiciously, more than happy to turn a blind eye at this development (there are those who would insinuate that he was taking a cut of the loot himself), but his daughter is single handedly, and single mindedly determined to put a stop to it and will entertain absolutely no criticism of her father on the matter whatsoever.
Roleplay Sample: (this is from another game, and it's a tag back, so sorry it won't make much sense outwith context... er you can see it's structured and spelled right though!)
"Tormenting her, yes, but not in the way he was thinking of. It wasn't until she had met him that Stella had begun to realise how frustrated and lonely she truly was. She hadn't so much as entertained anyone after the disaster of her marriage. Ivan had been the first and last person she'd ever kissed, let alone anything further. She didn't think she would be capable of *wanting* it, but she did. It was a looming, hulking monster in her, selfish and stubborn, that wanted Stanley even now that it was abundantly clear she would never be what he needed. She was bursting to grab him, tell him unequivocally that she was desperate for his touch, to have his fingers on her bare skin, his lips on hers, and to *hell* with the consequences.
She swallowed, forcing it all back. That was ridiculous, some twisted part of her that was still sixteen years old that had been hidden and lurking. It made her want to crawl out of her skin, she had never so vehemently wished to have been born *anyone* else. She watched him desperately, wishing he would get angry. She had been prepared for him to lose his temper, to be furious with her for lying to him, endangering him in the circle, teasing him. She hadn't expected guilt.
It was all she could do to hold herself together when he moved away from her, the distance between them gaping. Stella couldn't help the wounded expression on her face, even though she had intended to push him away. To make him leave. She swallowed hard, tears threatening to spill, and tried to concentrate on his questions. How could she let it go on? Really? She hadn't even considered the alternative. Even when they'd made the circle, and she'd known what would happen, she was beside him. It hadn't entered her mind to go anywhere else."
